I ordered two subs, a steak and cheese and buffalo chicken, and then got a side of fries. According to the pricing on the website the two subs were just short of $25, but when I went to pick up the subs I was charged $42. I asked for a receipt and I didn't get an itemized receipt so I have no idea how my order came to $42. That's a ridiculous price for what we got, I won't go back. Pizza is good. But the subs? Kinda weird. So far, I've had a chicken parm sub and a steak and cheese. The chicken parm is a million cut up strips of chicken with sauce and cheese. The worst place ever! I got a pizza there a couple months ago. Pizza was painted with what appeared to be watered down tomato soup. Wet, runny, no consistency, and the dough was gross. I gave them a couple months and decided to try them again. To my astonishment, they were ever worse than last time! Got a Chicken Parm calzone. Somehow, they managed to make the entire calzone void of all flavor. None. I got it with extra sauce (there was maybe a teaspoon of their tomato soup sauce in there just to make it red), extra cheese blend (supposedly their specialty), and it was completely tasteless. The dough tasted like nothing. The chicken was bland and tasted like nothing. Even the cheese had no flavor. And the sauce (if that is what you want to call it), was flavorless (although did have a red color!). Avoid this place at all costs. It is utterly amazing that anybody has given this place more than 1 star. I can't believe they are still in business. We stopped for subs and a salad. After we paid and the order was placed, I took another look and realized no one was wearing masks. Front register , delivery driver, two cooks in the back. Nor did I see anyone use the hand sanitizer while I waited for the order. The salad was uninspiring, iceberg lettuce and rather small. The grilled chicken was tasty and the bread was good. Eggplant Parmesan sub didn't have enough sauce and the eggplant was barely breaded and tough. Agreeing with the last review, it is pricier than other places with similar menus. However, being a former employee, I just adore the owner and his ambition to actually prepare something rather than use prepackaged food. For instance, the syrian bread is to die for and made fresh daily (I spent many a mornings baking it). Chicken Dijon is my fave menu item, but I've recently discovered that making up your own specialty pizza is pretty tasty as well. Not just settling for a tomato sauce base is where it's at and I applaud Pizza Mia for being a bit different, even if it's going to cost $20 instead of $13. read more

Read the four stars as 4.25. I grew up on this pizza. So I do have a bit of a soft spot for this place. That being said. This is a pizza joint. If you get other food here don't expect anything amazing. There's a reason it's called PIZZA Mia. Their pizza on the other hand is good. Though perhaps a bit expensive. I am now a regular eater of their vegetarian pizza and penne. The quality of the pizza is superb and would recommend to any one who would like to have a great quality food. This place has gone downhill fast. We have ordered delivery from this place for years. In our last experience, we ordered a pizza, 2 subs and a salad for delivery. After an hour of waiting, a "manager" (who sounded like a teenage stoner) called the house and said they do not deliver to Amherst any more. If you like waiting 45 minutes+ with bad service for bland food, then this is the place for you! My family has been coming to this establishment for a few years, not because of the food, but because other friends with kids like to meet there as it seems to be an acceptable place for giant crowds of kids to gather and hang out while the parents eat. After each meal, we always say to ourselves, "Why do we keep eating this stuff? Couldn't we all meet somewhere where the food actually tastes good?" Really disappointing lately. We used to order pizza here a lot, but something has changed. We always ask for it well done and they never do it even when they're not busy. Last time we ordered was maybe a month ago and we got a Besto Pesto and some meatball and hot pepper pizza delivered. It ends up being almost $50.00 with delivery and tip for the two larges. I open the Besto Pesto and the driver completely tipped the pizza onto one side. To top it off they seem undercooked even though we asked for them well done (again!). I'm an easy going guy, so I end up reassembling the pizza and cooking both of them in my oven until they're how we like them.
