Visiting family in the area, I saw a delivery car for Pizza King. Having to drive three hours back home, I decided to stop in and see what they offered. After looking over the menu, I decided to stay basic and order a medium pizza with pepperoni and extra cheese on hand-tossed dough. (They also offer a thin crust for those who prefer that.) The wait was about 10-15 minutes maybe - not long. This isn't a dine-in place. They only have a small bench inside for waiting and room to stand as well. You can watch them hand-toss the dough for your pizza as you wait, as well as watch them assemble all the toppings too. The phone orders were pouring in while I waited for my pizza pie masterpiece. They were taking orders as fast as they could crank them out. I mentioned them being busy, and the reply was that they actually weren't as busy as normal. Wow! I'd hate to see it any more busy. These guys were working together like a well-oiled machine to produce some tasty-looking orders. My order comes out, and it's piping hot. I make my way to the vehicle where I proceeded to take pictures as my normal. Then, the taste test... It was simply heavenly! The cheese has a nice salty edge, as it should. The pepperoni is a good quality too. The sauce has a nice mild flavor, definitely not spicy as some. The dough had a nice airy texture, yet that crunch you long for every time you order a pizza. They hit it out of the park on every aspect! Way to go Pizza King!! I made it home with leftovers where it was enjoyed there too. The flavor took my husband back to a family-favorite pizza chain from his childhood. Needless to say, when back in the area to visit family, this will now be a must-stop food dive especially since we want to try other menu items. Pizza will always be on the list though! Try it for yourself! All the locals ordering it for delivery can't be wrong!! Simply delicious, Pizza King! Until next time... :-)

My fiance' and I decided to order from Pizza King. We were not sure, if they would be open due to the heavy snow. We live on a country road, I decided to call, Pizza king was open. The person that answered was kind and courteous. I told him the situation with living on a back country road. he reassured me, it would NOT be a problem getting our order delivered to us. I placed the order a 6 inch sub on wheat with extra mayo, a Hershey pie, a 20 oz. cherry Coke, a 2 liter bottle of Coca-Cola, and a large kings deluxe pizza. The person that took my order read it back to me. I confirmed, it was right. I was told my order would be there as soon as they could get it out there. Well, about 20 - 25 minutes later, the driver pulled in with our order. I made sure to tip the driver extra. They didn't have to do what they did, driving in the snow. It goes to show, the people from the manager, to the kitchen staff, to the delivery drivers, they all go above and beyond the call for their customers. The staff are always professional and courteous. The delivery is always fast, the food fresh, hot and delicious. It is always a treat for us, when we order from Pizza King. They make the best pizza, cheese sticks and subs. You will definitely NOT be disappointed.

I wasn't a fan when I first came to school here but they have completely changed my mind. There hot subs are divine (esp. the pizza sub) and the pizzas have great flavor. I am not a fan of the boneless chicken wings...they are a bit dry for my liking but the bone in wings are juicy. I am not a fan of them either but my wings have to be a certain way. Delivery is usually very fast and the delivery people are always polite.

Late Dinner from Pizza King half of my six inch steak sub so good look at the steak on there so tender loaded with flavor

For the area, the pizza and subs are really good. The food is reasonably priced. We would highly recommend pizza king to anyone.

I ordered the thin crust all meat with banana peppers and it was so much better than the local competition.

Good pizza, cheese sticks, and subs. There is no place to eat in so you must get delivery or pick it up. The delivery is usually fast.

Before retiring for the night, we searched for a place to eat and found Momma Mia Italiano Restaurant. At first we were reluctant, thinking how could an Italian restaurant be any good in a small town in Virginia. After all, we are of Italian-American descent -- so we know genuine Italian food and being the cook in our home -- I know how to cook Italian. My meatballs are renowned with our family and circle of friends. Not only are we of Italian descent, we are from NYC where there are the best restaurants in the world!!!! We have lived there over 60 years and have ate at the best! We entered the restaurant to see the entry King Kong sign about being the best -- better than NYC. I knew immediately that sign was spot on -- the restaurant smelled like my home growing up as a child on Sunday mornings! The aroma of the red tomato sauce carried us into our seats! (I think I was floating.) There were so many choices on the menu, it was difficult to make our choices. I decided on a plate of spaghetti with meat sauce and the chicken salad. My husband chose the raviolis and a side salad. The dinner included Italian garlic bread! The service from our server was divine: friendly, courteous and professional. The owner/chef visited us at the table a few times to be sure everything was alright, and it was MORE THAN alright. The food was "delicioso! We are so grateful that God brought us to this awesome restaurant in Abingdon, VA!! We'll be back!

I had some skepticism that it would live up to its reputation, and frankly Southwest Virginia is not a place that someone of my urbane character normally looks for high-end pizza in, but this was another Abingdon gem. A salad was quite large; I'm not usually thrilled with iceberg lettuce and the cheese was a bit much, but the ingredients were fresh and crisp and it was reasonably good for what it was. The pizza I came for was a beautifully presented pie with a crust the texture of a cloud. The special I ordered was just basil, oregano, and fresh tomatoes, but this simple flavor combination delivered on every front: tangy, astringent, savory, salty. Ordering a tea with free refills was a sound enough decision. Service wasn't the smoothest to be honest; only one actual waitress was working and some people had a bit of a delay when they arrived. I also felt a bit rushed out and ultimately asked for a dessert to go at the register, which was probably a better way of eating it anyway. The luxuriously soft tiramisu was another good decision. As is often the case with Italian cuisine, this place does not seem like a great option for those who don't eat dairy or wheat. For those who do, it is a reminder of why some flavors never go out of style.

All of the salad dressings are homemade and really good. I especially like the honey mustard and peppercorn ranch. Sometimes they have a homemade peanut butter pie for desert that is the best! I had heard so much about how good it was from the guys I work with. We drove in to the Restaurant and it was a beautiful drive. We went in and were promptly seated, a lady came to here table and introduced herself as not being a waitress but just filling in because they were short handed. "Red Flag #1". We ordered our drinks and our food. While we were waiting we were talking and looking around and couldn't believe how unclean it was we were in the corner and the window seals had numerous bugs dead and alive and so did the floor. When our food arrived, which took forever. I had the 16oz Ribeye my Wife had the 6oz Filet. Her steak was very undercooked so she sent it back. I decided to try a bite or two just to see how my steak tasted while her steak was being corrected. The taste was excellent but it was barely warm and my "partially baked undone potato" wasn't warm enough to melt the butter which I had to ask for since I didn't get any with the potato. When my wife's meal returned we started to eat I asked how hers was and she said the potato was not fully baked and hard and the steak was tough. We decided to just get on with it eat and leave. That was an adventure as well, the table was rocking so bad that we had to take turns cutting up our steaks while the other held the table still. Needless to say it was a horrible experience. We expected so much more for the price.
