We had lunch at Pizza King on the Daytona Beach Boardwalk near the Mardi Gras Fun Center Arcade. We also stopped at Michael's by the Sea gift shop and kids spent some of their Souvenir money! It was rather expensive to this ole' hillbilly but it was my fault we should have done the large cheese pizza special for $18 BUT WE DIDNT...So I paid! We did a slice each of Pepperoni for Deacon, Saige and I with Kayla choosing the Chili Dog with Cheese * it was more like smoked sausage and we all had a ice cold bottle of water!!! So refreshing!! $34 Yikes!!!! But it was really great Pizza! The kids had a blast, the view and ambience was amazing so truly that's what it's worth...the memories not the price! read more

Good pizza. Big, fat pizza by the slice is a strangely different experience -- in a good way. Not a ton of options but what you're given is relatively good. Not expensive. Service is helpful. How this place has 4 stars beats me. Other people's review describe it as "authentic" or "best pizza". IMO anyone ending up here is because of two things, 1. You didn't want to wait that long for Joe's Crab Shack, 2. You're too damn hungry to search for another place. This was mediocre pizza at its best. The girls at the counter were bickering and one had a sassy attitude. At least the guys were nice, one took my drink order right away and a young guy brought out our large pizza. Reason for my 2 stars. We also ordered fries and hot poppers. The jalapeño poppers were disgusting, that's a first for me. Cheddar cheese half cold. Greasy and cold don't mix. I couldn't eat another. If you're in a hurry and want to eat outdoors then just be warned that you'll smell the stench of smokers near ya with the occasional whiff of human urine. If you're on the boardwalk, this is a must-eat-at place. We ordered a full pizza and they made it within 15 minutes. It was delicious! They also have a selection of beer, and we drank up. After stopping by a few other places, they didn't take cards. Walking down the boardwalk and saw the large sign, just really wanted something deep fried. Ordered a slice of pizza, corn dog, and hot poppers. $8 for the poppers was pretty pricy, but we enjoyed it. Corn dog was nice and crispy. It's a totally casual even to the point of being a somewhat of a divey place. To prove that it even has a few vagrant beggars hanging around for a handouts, but I assure you that aren't asking for handouts to buy pizza. Pizza King has an elderly gentleman who comes in to work in the early mornings preparing the dough for the day's pizza, and it is the dough used in Pizza King's pizza that sets it apart, making it good as the toppings themselves are rather generic, nothing noteworthy or special. Because of the view and the good dough bread used I can go Three Stars. I might have even gone higher but some of those that hangout here do make the place less than inviting. I can not explain why or how I possibly can have such issues with pizza places. 1st I order my pizza the exact same time as my friend. I actually use his phone when he finishes. Of course my order doesn't show up with his, why would it So about an 45 minutes later a driver shows up and calls me with the wrong order. As I'm trying to find out what's going on, I call the business, only to be hung up on Someone told me they were running to their van and has yet to be seen. Quality is good, had wings, large speciality, and the xtra large cheese. Cheese was a lot bigger, both were thin (not NY thin, but thin). As for quality, I would have given them 4 stars (5 has to be a home run slam dunk), but when the chains can give me a $5 pizza with more weight, $20 is simply too much, even with the higher quality ingredients. We ended up spending over $50 for two pizzas and 24 wings. With that said, it is a tourist location, so it is likely competitive for the area. If you are in town, don't mind spending a few extra dollars, then take my rating as a high 4, because its ONLY cost that took the star away. If you have to decide between this and the chains, go to Pizza King, you will be happy you did. I have not had the other local pies, so I would ask around to see what locals think. Folks were real friendly and even though there are a few Pizza Kings around Central Florida, this had the feel of a locally owned small business. Wings were good, btw. Great place to eat when walking the boardwalk with outdoor seating and a great view! I got the 21 shrimp platter for $10.99 which came with fries. The shrimp was fresh with a thin, crisp breading and indeed had 21 shrimp in the basket. The fries were thin shoestring fries and were average. The pizza we ordered came out in a very short time and was very good the tables were blocked of for safety measure but the pizza was way greaser then normal pizza and the workers are not wearing face mask that doesn't bother me but it does bother some so I'm just letting you know but overall it was great food and great customer service read more
