Our paid checks were bouncing for insufficient founds more then once based here was gambling with our money in Vegas, that's one of the reasons he lost the old location: didn't pay the rent for several months. Ordered a pizza for pick-up a.k.a. takeout, yes I was the delivery guy. It was Friday just after 6:00 PM, after a long day we decided someone else was doing the cooking. Large cheese, pepperoni, sausage and jalapeño pizza hand crafted, baked and stuffed into a corrugate box piping hot and ready to go, timing is everything when a pizza has to travel and my timing is usually impeccable. The pizza traveled well and was good to eat without an additional heat source - paper plates, a pop and dinner is served. This was my first pizza from Five Star, the box had me doing a double take when I read the top my eyes went directly to the words "Best Value" hey I'm not a pizza snob and I ain't pretentious but I've never been a fan of bargain pizza, now before I bit into the first slice I got an image in my head of the CEO in a fancy boardroom saying "we are going to serve some decent pizza at a great price " Yikes!!! Well to be honest it wasn't love at first bite, I think this pizza grew on me about halfway through the second slice as the endorphins kicked in from the heat of the Jalapeños I like hot and spicy and these peppers are the real deal and plentiful - note to self if you're not the holy crap these are hot type you may want to request light on the Jalapeños at least that what I'm thinking if there is a round two. There are so many options when it comes to pizza in the area that a pizza shop needs to really bring it when it come to quality ingredients and execution - nothing bad here by any means but it doesn't make my top five unfortunately. For a budget-level pizza restaurant, this place is always spot-on. The toppings are delicious and the crust, is passable. They always have deals and are constantly sending me coupons. I got a large, 1-topping pizza for my birthday. They also deliver all the way across Port Orange for a small fee. After seeing their past health code violations I should lower this to a 3. But whatever, I'd give 3.5 if I could. Why? Well, it's. Just "okay" pizza. It's price efficient to get the massive 40 something $ pizza to feed a party. But yeah, I remember the first time I had Five Star I absolutely loved it. But it's one of those pizza (food in general) that quickly gets tired really fast. This is likely just a "me" thing, but I know people who are tired of Five Star just from how often they have it. Which isn't necessary a bad thing or Five Stars fault. But after a couple times the flaws start to become more and more noticeable. The crust is acceptable, not great but far from bad. 3.5/5 The sauce is ehh interesting, I can't say if it's bad, or good, or some unique unexplainable answer. ?/5 The cheese is probably the weakest part. It's definitely "cheese" but something doesn't feel quite right about it. While Five Star is a chain, it certainly has a major Chain taste. If there's one major chain I could maybe compare at least the cheese to it would be Papa John's. 3/5 I'd say Papa John's is probably worse than Five Star, papa's John's doesn't taste like what "pizza" should taste like. While Five Star at least resembles in taste what Pizza should at least taste like. read more

I just ordered a pizza from five star today that came cold and not nearly as good as normal. I ordered a pizza yesterday to be delivered in Port Orange and somehow the driver ended up over in Daytona Beach so we never got our pizza. But today was another disappointment. More like one star pizza. Ive been here quite a few times and at first I'd get a very decent pizza for the money but last two times the pizza is nowhere close to what it use to be. Before the pizza had a very good amount of cheese and items and was enjoyable for a chain pizza shop but now it barely comes with enough cheese to cover the dough. The pizza had less of the items that come with it and since it had so little cheese the cheese and the items were pretty dry. I pulled the cheese back and hardly any sauce. Five Star Pizza did not disappoint! It was delivered quickly and it was still hot! This was my first time trying Five Star since I moved to South Daytona and it just might be my new local favorite! Often, you don't know whether to try these little pizza shops, because if they're not making good pizza, then they usually don't stay around long. I don't know how long this restaurant has been in business, but if they continue making fantastic pies like I ordered tonight, then they will hopefully be around for a long time! I also appreciated their attention to details and didn't forget any of my order. That's so frustrating when that happens. I asked for the thin crust and would highly recommend it! Their crust had a really nice flavor and my pie was perfectly baked. The toppings were also generous and I thought the price was reasonable considering how tasty it was. I'm so torn with my rating on this one so I'm just going to get to it and you can make your own decision. The pizza was great but I did not feel welcomed here. No one treated me different but I was extremely uncomfortable with the "Trump" signs on the pizza delivery car. We were staying nearby in a condo and ordered from here twice. The delivery was super quick. Were talking like 30 minutes. We ordered wings, they were big and tasted good. Great value. We had a Supreme Pizza, lots of cheese and toppings. We also got a large extra cheese pizza, they did not skimp on the cheese and it was delicious. The prices are low for the outstanding quality and the delivery is fast. What more could you want? read more

This is not about the food, but I was out front and watched their delivery guy deliver pizza across the street, and noticed when he pulled onto the driveway, he rolled down his window and tossed trash onto the driveway...then got out of the car, opened the back door to get the pizza and again, tossed trash on the driveway. I called to report him, took photos. IF the manager calls me back on Wednesday, I will email photos. The person who answered the phone knew who the driver was and was going to talk with him. An older guy, a senior, who simply has no manners or customer service savvy. The wind is blowing, so the trash got caught up in the wind. read more

They used this spice or herb, I'm not sure what it is, but there was a chain of pizza shops in NYC that was owned by Mediterranean people whose pizza tasted EXACTLY the same way! It was exceedingly popular in NY, but I didn't like it and I still don't! Pleasant ordering experience, was estimated 10-15 minutes for pickup, the food was ready when I got there, and I was offered crushed red pepper packets to make the whole meal taste great. when you have a good pizza you will eat the crust.. This pizza is worthy of that. The wings are better than mainstream pizza wings... I like how they arent wings that look like they pumped with copious amounts of steroids. But for the size, i feel like they should be cheaper. The garlic rolls are awesome!!! Pizza rolls are great as well. The bbq pizza lacks in toppings for a specialty pizza. They do not follow proper COVID precautions. NO one wears a mask, you can also see workers eating over the food in the back when you do carry out. Just a nasty place. This place sucks, the pizza is extremely great and nasty. The management does nothing to resolve issues. The wings are full of fat and has to be recooked at home to be enjoyable. So ordered my pizza rolls with a 2 liter and they forgot my 2 liter....no big deal right..... So I call a half hour later to see what's going on and some telephone thug hangs up on me..... So took a drive up there to get my 2 liter and confront the telephone wankster that was sooo tough to hang up on me and of course no tough guy to be found....
