I finally got around to trying out their pizza after many failed attempts I found their pizza to be very good. I ordered the meat lovers pizza which was served in a square type shape and cut into small squares about four bites each. The pepperoni is thick sliced and the sausage is actually sausage pieces The sauce is a little sweeter than most which was a pleasant change When the Mrs yells across the restaurant "This is really good pizza" you know she really liked it and she's no pizza fan. I was surprised to find a location of this much loved Maryland pizza chain in Ormond Beach. Having missed a chance to try it up there, I called in an order while getting gas at Buc-ees Saturday and made the 10-minute drive from there to pick it up. Ledo makes square pizzas with a light crust reminiscent of a pastry. It was good at first and got even better when it cooled a little after five minutes. The smoked flavor of the cheese goes well with the somewhat sweet pizza sauce. The interior of this little restaurant is charming and has company history and Maryland items on the walls, including some for Baltimore's NFL team. As much as I loved the pizza I will not be shifting my allegiance from the Jaguars to the Ravens. read more

What a treat to discover this in Ormond Beach! When visiting family in MD, they always make sure I get my Ledo's Old Bay wings! That's a MD thing, but they offered it in OB, as well. The lunch special 8" 3-topping pizza was a good deal, with leftovers to take home. My friend had the 14" pepperoni and mushroom- with plenty to take home. No pix of the wings - I heated them for dinner in the air fryer and they were delicious! Not quite as Old Bay as the location in MD, but I'll request a heavier dose next visit. I shop at Publix weekly and yet I've never even noticed Ledo's Pizza in the same parking lot. We got a flier/menu in the mail and decided to give them a try. I read a lot of reviews first, and after eating there, I have to agree that if you grew up in Maryland (or anywhere near a Ledo's) you are more likely to love it. The main issue is the crust. If you're used to deep dish, hand-tossed, garlic brushed, or even regular thin crust, you won't find it at Ledo's. The closest thing I can compare to the Ledo's pizza crust would be an unsalted saltine cracker. It even has 'dimples' like a cracker. I had an 8-inch meat lovers pizza and the toppings were plentiful and tasted as expected. I do prefer it when the pepperoni is cooked until it gets a little crispy and starts to curl. Ledo's pepperoni is sliced thicker and doesn't do that. I also ordered a 12 piece bone-in chicken wings. The were larger than most and very tasty, with celery and ranch dressing included. The price was reasonable ($20.00 for 12 wings), especially considering how large they are. My wife ordered the calzone ($9.99), and was a little disappointed. The crust was probably made from the same cracker-like dough as the pizza, so it just didn't taste right. Our server, Angelina, was very friendly and attentive. We probably won't be back, but I will order the wings again for take-out. read more

Long time Ledo's customer in the mid Atlantic. Pizza is uniquely flavorful with pastry-like crust. Sauce is on sweeter side, cheese is top grade and toppings plentiful. Love the pre-cooked bacon! Ledo is a somewhat acquired taste and different than many NY or thicker crust pizza. But I am thrilled they have come to Ormond Beach and encourage all to try them. Here we were on a Sunday afternoon and our favorite pizza joint Lenny's was closed. There are few alternatives to great New York style pizza in Ormond Beach. Bronx House and Genevese are really sub-par compared to Lenny's so we decided to try a new place called Ledo Pizza that is located in the Trails shopping center. They had some very appetizing advertisements on Facebook so we decided to give them a try. First off, it's thin square pizza, as if created on a baking pan. The crust isn't your typical pizza crust, feeling a bit like a flakey wafer, however, it was pretty tasteless. We ordered pepperoni and as they cut the pizza in small squares with a piece of pepperoni on each the sauce and cheese were pretty much obscured by the meat. I'm not sure that they used mozzarella cheese as it was tasteless. And the cost was not cheap compared to any other pizza place in town. The saving grace was the small order of buffalo wings but again they were not cheap. I think the price for the pizza and 6 wings were $29 bucks, and half of the pizza went uneaten. If you find yourself wanting pizza on a Sunday or Monday in Ormond Beach, you would be best pass Ledo Pizza by. read more

EVERYONE needs to try LEDO rectangular pizza and then decide. It is different BUT ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. You will get addicted. I lived in Maryland. Ledo originated in College Park. I had eaten this pizza for years but after moving to Florida I have missed it terribly. It has a cult following from Marylanders who ADORE it. They drive long distances to stock up on Ledo and freeze their pizzas at home for future eating. LEDO SAUCE is DELICIOUS... it can be ordered on their website or you can buy at the restaurant. The crust is more of a pastry type but again DELICIOUS. Their cheese is a smoked variety and it makes a difference. Why are people criticizing a pizza that is different? There are different pizzas, crusts, sauces. Each has its' own merits and if your taste is different so be it! But just because it's not your preference it does not mean LEDO PIZZA is not good. In fact, when Oprah did her national pizza review LEDO was way up on top of her top 10 pizzas. So there it is .. TRY IT. And READ THE REVIEWS FROM OTHER FORMER MARYLANDERS ON HERE!! I really liked the description and it looks good. But the flavor is a little bland. The description of a flaky crust made me think it would be crunchy but it was flaky like a biscuit. The restaurant if a nice little place in the Publix shopping Center off Nova Road. I've seen a lot of advertisement associated with this place and I'm sure it hits the spot for some people. I grew up eating Ledo's pizza in the Washington, DC area. My parents would drive us all the way to College Park, MD from just outside the beltway in VA to have a special meal there - back when this was the only location. I now live in Jacksonville, FL and when I found out there was one in Ormond, I had to go. I drove 2 hours each way to get this pizza for my birthday. I got the pepperoni and sausage and it was perfection, just as I remembered it. The best part of Ledo pizza is the crust and the second best part is that every piece has a topping. I was very excited for this pizza place.... It had everything I wanted...cheeseburger pizza, cheesy bread, hot honey pizza and lighter crust. Concept is cool and different. However, this place lacked taste in the dough and sauce. It tasted worse than a frozen pizza. It was soft but tasteless. I couldn't even taste the sauce..we also ordered the pasta which tasted very very bland. I may give the pizza another chance but everything on the menu you can just pass on that. Just got 2 pizzas and a sub the sub had lettuce and tomato on it which we asked not to be put on there. The pepperoni pizza my grandson ate 1 piece and said this is really bad and didn't eat another piece. This is a child that normally eats 3/4 pizza when we bring one home. Mine was not cooked well so I put it in the oven it was an everything pizza and all the toppings were on the top and couldn't find any cheese so I added more cheese. The mushrooms were not fresh and tasted like the can they came in. The crust was so dry and tasteless. Needless to say won't be ordering from there any more. I made a telephone order and my wife picked up the pizza, all was good. The next day, cause she gets notifications on charges her tip was changed from 5 dollars to 15 dollars by the cashier.
