Pizza Hut is fantastic! I absolutely love the food there - especially the stuffed crust or cheesy bites pizzas, and also the cheesy garlic bread. It also tends to work out at pretty good value for a family of four, so we usually eat at this branch of Pizza Hut when we have our day out in York.
The only downside with this place is the queues! They are horrendous! I guess it's partly our own fault - our family day out in York generally has to be on a Saturday, so of course the city centre is packed and everyone wants dinner at the same sort of time. Often we have to queue for about half an hour just to get a table in here, and frankly, that is making me think twice about going there again - it just takes too much time out of the day, when you also take into account the delays in serving.
However, on the upside, Pizza Hut does have a lot of plus points - mostly the food! Also, if you get cola to drink you get free refills, and the children get a little puzzle/colouring book to occupy them while they wait for the meal to arrive. It IS a nice place to stop and recharge the batteries before venturing back out into the shops!
This particular branch of Pizza Hut is relatively small, the dining area is on the ground floor, and the toilets are upstairs. I'm very particular about public toilets, but these are ok. Not brilliant, but pretty good.
I'm struggling to come up with a summary for this place! I do love the food, and I do keep going back there time after time, despite always swearing I'll go somewhere else next time. The service is pretty good, but I do feel it's a bit slow. I feel the food preparation time is longer here than at other Pizza Hut branches I've been to, but that may be just my imagination because I've already queued for half an hour to get in and am worried about wasting the day. Overall, recommended, but not if you're in a rush! read more
