Franko,s formerly Brio,s ........just got back from a late lunch at 5 pm.....place was full to the rafters on a saturday evening . So opted to eat alfresco under heating and watch the world whizz by under the high glass roofs of the Light.
As usually all Franko staff were on point, and as a regular ( I eat their every Saturday). I was whisked straight to my usually table one of three depending on which time off day I go ....day time 12-3pm are usually the quietest, and staff are able to stop and chat.
Are menus were brought to us for are viewing, however as usually I always opt for the same dish (if it ain't broke why fix it) my usually fair... Pizza crocante, a delicate thin pizza base smothered in garlic, rock salt, olive oil and basil.
Was delicious ......crisp yet light and very moorish accompanied by farfella Amatriciana ....butterfly pasta , crispy pancetta , cherry tomatoes , chillies , garlic ......it never fails to reach the spot.......
I went their during the week with another friend and we tried the creme brûlée and the Tiramisu ..... The creme brûlée was somewhat of a let down ,as is was slightly runny but my friend and I , thought the tiramisu hit the spot , as it was both light and creamy with just the right hints of coffee and liquor .......
All in all Franko,s reminds me of one of those good restaurants off old, where produce and taste is were not compromised ........and the prices are very reasonable .....as you can get a decent bowl of pasta / pizza , side and a drink for as little as £10.00 .......
Hint.:- they do 2 bowls of Pasta or pizza for ......£15 .....Sunday to Thursday
Portion size .....Massive
Just had a re-fit
Good for children ....young and old read more
