The crust was thin, rubbery, and tough with no flavor. There was far too much red sauce which was completely unseasoned and far too little cheese - and from me that's really saying something because I'm not a big fan of cheese. On the plus side there are many options for build your own: 3 sizes of pizza and numerous toppings including unusual ones like mango salsa, zuchini, brisket, chorizo, and pulled pork. The menu mentions "farm to table" but doesn't elaborate so it's rather meaningless. I think some of the vegetables are grown on local farms. The menu does list the source of their flour, a small Kentucky mill. That's appreciated, but it's a real shame they don't know how to make it into a decent crust! After pouring over the toppings list for too long I finally decided on chorizo, chicken, jalapeño, mushroom, and onions. Topping portions were generous. I will say that the jalapeños I got on mine were exceptionally good and I really liked the chorizo. It can get busy here. Order at the counter and get a beeper and food is brought when ready. It didn't take long, 10-15 minutes I'd say. Practically no cell service but the wifi was good. For adult beverages, a large beer selection, drafts and cans, emphasis on local craft brands. Not sure about hard liquor. For wine, it's only sold in full bottles. I guess they don't sell enough to keep open bottles fresh? The plastic forks were the cheapest available, with tines that melted as soon as they touched the food. Doesn't anybody test these? So while I appreciated the flexibility of 3 sizes, and the many topping options and their quality, overall it was a disappointment and I wouldn't go back.

It was big enough for 2 people to share, but (except for the bite that I gave my wife) I devoured the whole thing! Gondolier is what I would call a small chain restaurant. There are a few scattered around (even one in Sevierville, TN) but they are still small enough to always use top quality ingredients and keep their prices very affordable. There use to be one closer to me in Berea, KY, but unfortunately it closed. You may think this crazy to read, but Gondolier has one of the best cheeseburgers that I have ever had! Without a doubt, we will make the 45 minute drive one-way just to go eat at Gobdolier again and again.
