The name It's Just Wings is a bit mis-leading because there are fries too (chuckle). We found out…read moreabout this from a local facebook group that discusses new restaurants and food trucks. This is a concept from Brinker International that owns Chili's. It uses the same kitchen but only has ordering and delivery through door dash. Only in the recent era does Eric R. actually like wings. He likes actual wings, whereas I prefer boneless wings (or as people try to say in Nebraska, "saucy nugs"). The sauces sounded pretty cool. Eric R. got the smoked wings, with pineapple sauce and a side of buffalo, and I got boneless wings with ponzu with a side of black truffle sauce. Both came with fries and ranch. Eric R. did not know that so he ordered an extra side of fries for $2. Oops! I tasted a smoked wing and it was pretty good. I liked the ponzu boneless wings a lot. I could not taste black truffle in the truffle sauce. I think if we have a wing craving, this would be fine, but even though we did order right before the kitchen closed, it appears that door dash delivered a bunch of orders before ours so it took a really long time to get to our house (over an hour, and we live in a small town where the farthest drive from one corner to the other is 12 minutes). Whatever, it's just wings!

The mozerella sticks had a good cheese pull and the onion rings were crispy. I noticed that the fries have changed and I liked the new beer-battered version better since it adds some extra crispiness, but the regular portion is a bit smaller than I remember. The boneless wings which I got the jerk and hot BBQ flavors were decent, but the hot BBQ flavor basically tasted like Buffalo sauce.

We sat at Popeyes waiting so long for our food that, at one point, I decided I didn't even care…read morewhat it tasted like anymore--I was giving them one star regardless. I thought Popeyes was fast food. Now, I realize I've experienced longer-than-average waits at pretty much every Popeyes I've ever visited, but this was something else. After 16 minutes, the two orders placed before ours were still at the counter asking where their food was, and ours was nowhere in sight. At one point, someone came to our table and offered us free pie because of the wait--which was a nice gesture--but we still didn't have any food. Finally, after 34 minutes, our food was ready. Now for the honest food review: The wings were fabulous. The strips were very stringy. The red beans and rice were good, the coleslaw was average, and the biscuit was very dry and tough. The young woman at the counter was incredibly sweet, and I appreciated her kindness. However, overall, I'm still giving this location one star. No matter how good the food might be, I will never come back. A 34-minute wait for fast food is simply unacceptable to me.

About every 6 mo i give this place a try, hoping things have changed. I like KFC in general but…read morethis location is the absolute pitts and has been forever. Before the remodel this place was a dirty dump with ceiling tiles falling and slippery grease covered floors. I usually end up giving it another shot because im on a short lunch and every other fast food place on the street is packed but KFC. This place is always empty! Even during the 12 and 5:00 rushes. Anyways, they've updated the building but the floors are still disgusting with grease. The tables are dirty and they are always understaffed. You can tell this place is terrible to work for because everyone looks downtrodden and angry and over worked. Obviously ownership either doesnt pay well or are bratty; probably both. I always swear this place off every 6 months but this time i really am done. Putting it in writing and holding myself accountable lol. It aint gonna be better next time! As for what do they do to merit such a review? Orders are consistently wrong. Food tastes like old fryer grease. Staff is usually rude. They seem to be out of whatever i feel like ordering that day, or they tell you its a 15 min wait. Interior is not clean at all. Check out the pop machine but be careful walking over there, the floor is crazy slippery with grease. Its just a very poorly maintained location. KFC corporate needs to hold their franchisees to higher standards. Wont be back.
