About every 6 mo i give this place a try, hoping things have changed. I like KFC in general but this location is the absolute pitts and has been forever. Before the remodel this place was a dirty dump with ceiling tiles falling and slippery grease covered floors. I usually end up giving it another shot because im on a short lunch and every other fast food place on the street is packed but KFC. This place is always empty! Even during the 12 and 5:00 rushes. Anyways, they've updated the building but the floors are still disgusting with grease. The tables are dirty and they are always understaffed. You can tell this place is terrible to work for because everyone looks downtrodden and angry and over worked. Obviously ownership either doesnt pay well or are bratty; probably both. I always swear this place off every 6 months but this time i really am done. Putting it in writing and holding myself accountable lol. It aint gonna be better next time! As for what do they do to merit such a review? Orders are consistently wrong. Food tastes like old fryer grease. Staff is usually rude. They seem to be out of whatever i feel like ordering that day, or they tell you its a 15 min wait. Interior is not clean at all. Check out the pop machine but be careful walking over there, the floor is crazy slippery with grease. Its just a very poorly maintained location. KFC corporate needs to hold their franchisees to higher standards. Wont be back. read more

Normally I wouldn't even think or care to leave a review for KFC but the cashier that helped me was so kind & inviting. Didn't catch his name but he had the most beautiful curly hair & I've never been so warmly and happily greeted by someone at KFC. I also haven't eaten KFC in more than 10 years so that was nice. We did an online order when we pulled up all the lights outside and the sign were not on and it was dark outside I pull to the drive through order they greet me and I said we have an online order I was told to go to the 2nd window I pull up the lady was rude hands me my two bags slams the window shut we get home and there was no butter for the bisquits or honey the gravy was turned on its side I truthly believe the woman that gave me my order needs to readjust herself and learn customer service read more

When we ordered a 16 piece bucket we were told that no one made slaw that day. KFC slaw is one of the highlights of the meal. So, we picked another side. When we got home we discovered that we didn't get the biscuits, another high of a KFC dinner. The chicken, as normal was wonderful along with the potatoes and gravy. This location has some serious issues. We stopped by for a bucket of chicken and spent 30 minutes in the drive thru. We were asked to pull forward and spent 20 of those minutes waiting for our food pulled ahead, wondering if the restaurant forgot about us but noticed that every other car seemed to be pulled to the side too. When we finally got our food we were ready to head home, but when we arrived we noticed that our order was entirely wrong. The chicken was soggy, the sides weren't correct and we were missing half of them. The biscuits were rock hard and barely edible. We called the store to follow up but their line was busy for the rest of the evening. The next morning we followed up again to see what was going on and they offered to replace our missing items, but the entire meal was a wash. read more

Completely underwhelmed with our pick-up order. Gravy was not finished - just looked like dirty water, and it spilled all over the inside of the bag. I visited this KFC location today and had to assist the associate in filling my order not once, but twice. When ordering, I stated that I was eligible for military discount and he forgot. When we moved over that obstacle, he FORGOT that I ordered TAKEOUT. Then, when he completed my order, he FORGOT one of my side orders and I had to return to the counter. However, I was wondering about the dress code. This associate wore no uniform, had jeans that had drug on the ground long before he probably worked there. Not sure if that is what you want to have, someone sweeping the floor every moment he walks a step! Disappointing KFC experiences both times we've been here. First tried this place out when it remodeled/reopened and had to wait almost 2 hours for our order in the drive-through. The chicken was fresh and good, but the sides were kinda cold and not that tasty. We decided that maybe we would give them some time to get into their groove before trying them out again. So, we went back and again we had a long wait (over an hour), plus when we got home we realized that they got our order wrong. I would give them 1 star, except the chicken was good and when we alerted them about getting our order wrong, they promised to replace things and were nice about it. read more

I went tonight I my order was simple one 8 piece family bucket and a 5 dollar fill up with a famous bowl. My 8 piece only came with 6 pieces my famous bowl had the wrong gravy and didn't come with the cookie it was suppose to.. not very please with this local kfc! read more

Would rate a 1 or 2...The food is fine. When this location opened everything was fine. But lately the service has been what is absolutely terrible. They are rude, seem short staffed and frazzled when rush of customers come, and food is never fast or ready. 1) One of my visits, we used the drive thru. It took too long to be considered fast food the woman who was helping us was extremely flustered. When we asked if we could have silverware, she practically yelled at us, telling us she was the only one there and had to do everything by herself, otherwise she wouldn't have forgotten. I wasn't even mad the silverware wasn't in there. We just simply asked and got this loud response. The food was what was expected but the service left us concerned and frustrated. 2) The last visit it took way too long in the drive thru for two $5 fill up bowls. Ordering the foo was fine. But we were on a tight schedule, which is why we were getting fast food through a drive thru. So we asked if our bowls would take long, as the only car ahead of us took almost 10 minutes already before being asked to pull to the front to wait for thier food. The clerk took or money and said that the food would be right out. I explained I was just needing to be somewhere soon. After giving us drinks, the person from the window went to the back and was gone for at least 5 minutes after telling us the bowls would be right up. The food was fine, but we were given biscuits instead of cookies, so it was technically wrong. Which, was a small thing and wasn't worth going back to get fixed, as we were on a strict schedule. - Was not impressed or happy with the service. If they would have been honest that the food wasn't ready, I would have respected that. But I was in a hurry and felt like they were more worried about telling me what I wanted to hear: that my food was almost up... So this was late and technically incorrect. *Both times I noticed there were only 1-2 people working and lines were getting long on the inside with no one tending to the customers inside. Overall, the service is why I wouldn't recommend this location. The food is fine! And if you're craving some KFC, then you should go because it's the only one around here. But i wouldn't expect for fast, correct, honest, or friendly service. They always seem short staffed, which actually makes me feel bad for the people who do work there. Very big difference between the KFC franchise locations in Kansas City and this franchise! Here on 3rd Street, the chicken strips were thin, dry, and tough. The side orders were literally half the size of side orders in other franchise locations. And the cookies were also half the size of what we have been served at other franchises. Even the back of house was chaotic and could benefit from a lot of improvements in efficiency. If these franchise owners want to improve profitability, they should concentrate on quality and satisfaction in lieu of bottom line costs. Very disappointed. read more

I went thru the drive thru today to order the $20.00 fill up told the young man and he was verifiying what I ordered when a woman came on and said you can't change what comes with the order. Which I wasn't even doing. I was telling him the one I ordered and she said well you didn't have to be rude. Well I wasn't rude at all and I can be believe me. I did just what I said and when she said this I said you can keep your chicken and I went to Popeye's Chicken and got there 20 special. Horrible experience fro start to finish. First, we were told there would be a wait on the chicken (not a special order of any sort), then we were told there were no biscuits. We stated that we'd wait, and take the biscuits and chicken together. They sent the chicken out ahead anyway, and it was cold by the time we got biscuits, which was more than 20 minutes later. I can make them from scratch in less time! After all this, when we asked for honey for the biscuits, we were given a nasty substance that was mostly CORN SYRUP. I experienced the absolute worst customer service here. I waited 10 minutes at the counter to order. I was then given the wrong food, when I had almost finished my food one of the employees came over and very rudely told me it was my fault that my meal was wrong. In the time we were there, two other people inside the store had problems with their meals as well as someone having to come inside from the drive thru. Will never go back. I live half an hour away and order a family meal bucket to take home. When I got home and started unpacking it, I didn't have the cole slaw I ordered. I didn't have the macaroni I ordered. I did, however, have green beans and baked beans, which I did NOT order. The kid taking my order was a complete ass and when I got up to pay, he slammed the window shut. I've been to this restaurant before when they opened up. the restaurant seems very modern has USB chargers at the table which is great as a student for me to charge my phone while I'm eating and catching up on my work. employees are great and the food was really good and I'm glad the $5 fillups are back. read more

I have been in the Food Industry for 28 yrs now. Because of that, I am usually very patient and sympathetic to mistakes, long waiting times,etc....Today I experienced one of the worst displays of food service, cleanliness and rudeness I have ever experienced in my career. My daughter and I were next door at the Optometrist and Success Vision buying glasses. We had an hr and a half to kill before we could pick up my glasses. Hungry...we went to KFC for lunch. Upon arrival, a very sullen and pissed off employee took our order. The place was dirty...tons of flies and filthy surfaces. No napkins or condiments were available. We passed a very disappointed couple sitting 3 booths over as we chose our seats. We waited approximately 10 minutes for our order and as I walked to the counter to pick up our meals I was met by the female of the disappointed couple. I asked her how long she had been waiting and she said over 25 minutes. I voiced my sympathy then took our food to our table. I knew instantly our mashed potatoes were cold just by looking at them. I touched them....ice cold. Not even friction heat. lol I went back up and that same poor lady was still standing there. Two women came in and stood at the front counter for over 10 awkward minutes without even a howdy doo or F off and finally left out of frustration. Before mentioned couple....still no food. The manager took my cold food and produced a hot plate about 6 to 7 minutes later. Couple....still no food. Btw ..almost everyone ordered some form of the 5 dollar fill ups....Nothing too difficult. The manager( at least I assumed he was) came out and apologized to the couple and 5 minutes later ONE of their ordered meals was produced. The husband's meal....still lost in the Fast Food realm of Hell. Four other customers came in...all ignored...all unhappy. There was no music or noise to block out the screaming and cursing in the BOH so needless to say....we all sat around awkwardly and slightly uncomfortable, At this point a mild friendship is starting to build between myself and said disappointed couple. Laughter, It gets you far...The couples' food finally comes out and TADAH!!!! Ice cold....One more trip to the "manager" At this point I have two thoughts......One...Am I on What Would You Do? ,and where are the cameras? and can I just jump back there for 10 minutes and help a Honkey out?! Not a horrible place but needs improvements. The taste is consistent and reliable when it comes to KFC chicken. The drive thru needs works, slow and I've gone home with missing items. When I called to report it, I was shuffled around from "manager" to manager ( I had no idea there were so many in the evening shift) when I finally got a "manager" on the phone he was quick to fix it. 1st. When we walked in the floor was super dirty and slippery. As me and my wife entered a younger male with an athletic build politely introduced us to the menu, but he was blankly being yelled at by an old "Crabby" with a late 1950's greasy mobster hair due the"GM". The GM noticed up there and started to flirt with my wife I told him to back off he said sorry and looked at my wife again up and down saying things under his breathe the young male asked the GM to leave so he could take our order. After he took our order the young male went back to make the food because everyone else were either arguing about being at work or on there phones. I witness the young male take 3 more orders up front and make all those orders hisself. I later offered the young man a job at my dealership that I own. But all in all the place is terrible .. The owners the Indian people are just NASTY I went there while him and his wife were there ( both wearing with shirts) which you could tell they owned the place. They were yelling and making all the kids very mad. I witnessed a young male drop a cup where the large sides go so he threw it in the trash like anyone would later the wife came out the office pulled it out the trash and started to yell at the young man for throwing the DIRTY cup in the trashing saying he's costing them 67 cents for all the cups he throw away he replies back saying that it had dirt in it so it had to be thrown away she said wash it out. read more
