Everything was delicious. Huge fan of the coffee. We also snagged the last 2 cinnamon rolls that will be breakfast tomorrow. They look epic! The artichoke dip was very good however, the dipping sauce for the fried pickles was not good. It has bacon in it, which then changed the whole flavor profile and made everything taste like hotdogs. I ordered fish and chips, but when the fish came, it was so incredibly salty because of the dusting that they put on it and it appeared from the outside because it was so dark that it was overcooked. I just couldn't eat it. I had to send it back. Another person at our table ordered the chicken strips and they seemed like they were not fresh made, and they were just from frozen nothing special and they were just blah. Two of my table mates got two different burgers that they were happy with and another table. Member got the sirloin which she enjoyed as well. My overall experience was not good as I ended up only having a side iced tea.

In order to cut down on expenses, such as hotels and meals I sleep in my car and cook my meals, there too. Essentially, I am camping out of my car. Truck stops like Pilot and Flying J are really hard to come by in the rural parts of these states. And let's be honest, most of those states are rural. Would I really need those truck stops for is primarily showers and secondarily hot food. I read somewhere online that this place had showers. I stopped in and met Debbie. I asked about showers and was informed they are $10. Then she escorted me to the building where the showers are located behind the main building. They aren't brand new and fancy like the big truck stops, but they are clean and that's what I cared about. The water was hot with good pressure. And... It was hot for a long time. I don't know if this place is usually busy, but during my visit it was not busy. The café had already closed, but Debbie allowed me to sit at the counter and finish up some traveling paperwork. Debbie was very nice, very accommodating and very friendly. Her family started this business in 1952, so she knows everything there is to know about it and the area. I highly recommend this business.

There's a cast of regulars whose orders are already in process or waiting for them as they walk in, and it's a healthy walk-in business, too, if my time here was any indication. The people are friendly, the food is okay, nothing to set the world on fire, but it's plentiful and at a reasonable price. The best part of the experience for me is eavesdropping on the regulars who talk trash to the other regulars, flirt with the employees, and display the general camaraderie you'd expect in a small town where everyone knows everyone else. As for the food, the cheese omelette had semi-melted white and yellow american cheese artfully placed, and there was plenty more cheese on the inside. It was like a grilled cheese sandwich made with eggs instead of bread. The hashbrowns had some nice crispy pieces, but were otherwise ordinary.
