An Undertow coffee is a layered drink, essentially a strong shot of hot espresso floated over cold, sweetened milk (often vanilla-flavored), creating a distinct hot/cold contrast meant to be drunk quickly as one. It's made by pouring espresso over the back of a spoon onto a base of syrup and milk in a short cup, delivering a powerful, flavorful punch in one go!
