The buffet has a great selection, with plenty of Chinese favorites, seafood, chicken, rice, noodles, and other options, so there's something for just about everyone. The hibachi/teriyaki grill is another nice touch, especially if you want something prepared fresh and exactly the way you like it. The food has always been flavorful and satisfying, and the portions are generous. I also appreciate that the buffet is generally kept well stocked and clean. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the service is usually quick and attentive. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, making Peking a good choice for families, groups, or a simple lunch or dinner. It's the kind of local restaurant that you can visit without spending a fortune and still leave feeling like you got your money's worth. For a small town like Grundy, having a restaurant with this much variety is a real bonus. If you're craving Chinese food, Peking is definitely worth giving a try!

The food is decent, and the day I went when they were cooking fresh on the grill, it was actually really good and flavorful. That said, buffets personally aren't my favorite due to sanitation concerns, and the space itself feels a bit run down and worn. The ambience isn't really somewhere you go to relax or enjoy the atmosphere -- it's more of a grab-and-go kind of spot. Service was fine, nothing bad to note, just busy. Overall, it's okay for what it is, but a bit overhyped in my opinion.

Yes, the food is flavorful, and that's not because I haven't had "better" from the "big city." I have developed a sort-of litmus test for restaurants based on the sweet tea served, and their tea is good (literally and figuratively). Usually, the wait staff (unless overwhelmed by the swarms of hungry patrons at dinner hour) is fairly quick about getting around to letting you order. The menu is pretty diverse and well-described enough for one to know what's coming out of the kitchen. The food is usually out in ten to fifteen minutes, so unless you're hitting the bar or wasting time with friends, don't expect to be made to be there too long. I don't have one certain "usual" (besides the sweet tea), but of the items I order, I'm usually satisfied with what I get. One of my favorites is the Pollo Fundido, though friends of mine tend to go with the Big Burrito or the Chicken la Loma, usually a chile relleno on the side. (Don't be afraid to try other things, though. A lot of the menu items are similar to one another ingredient-wise.) As for the lack of the fifth star, the wait staff can be a little inconsistent in quality on occasion. It's nothing experience-breaking, though. After all, I keep going back. In the end, the sweet tea is still good.
