The first is always fresh and very good to eat. Husband loves the hibachi grill. I love the sushi. We go as often as we can.

Review Highlights - Peking Chinese Restaurant

“The reason I gave it 4 stars is because of on Fridays they get that hibachi grill fired up son and it's some of the best meat you'll ever put in your mouth.”

The food was standard fare for a Chinese buffet. But the dessert was pretty fresh…read more I did think that the honey chicken could use a bit of work, most of it was dry on the inside despite the glazing outside. The fried chicken was hot though. Fresh out of the fryer. And most importantly, cooked all the way through. Usually at Chinese buffets, the fried chicken will still have a bit of pink of the meat stuck directly on the bone. Not this one. I walked in at 3pm, so it wasn't like I was right on time for the lunch rush either. They had some moderately loud music playing, not so soft that you can't understand the words (80's and 90's songs mostly with a few early 2000's) and not so loud you can't have a conversation. Pretty good. 2 televisions in the back, 1 was off and the other on news with captions. Where it really impressed me though, was the service. I had a gentleman with short hair and glasses serving me. No frills, just immediately had me in a seat and had my drink to me before I got my first plate of food. Again, I arrived at 3pm, it wasn't exactly busy, but compared to other buffets in the area, I was pleasantly surprised. They also had a little fridge up front which I didn't get a picture of, it had bottles and cans for to go drinks, but also the Japanese soda, Ramune. Lychee, orange, mango and blueberry flavors. Delicious. The buffet bar line was also very clean, didn't see any spills anywhere unless they literally just happened from myself or another guest. Highly impressed, I'll be coming back.

Excellent food and service. I highly recommend the sushi bar. The hot, desert and salad bars have…read moregood selections.

I have been eating at Shanghai since it opened 30 years ago. No matter how much time passes…read morebetween my visits the owners treat me as if I am their favorite customer in the restaurant. Over the past several years I have only ordered takeout and I am never disappointed. The food is always hot and fresh and prepared exactly as I ask. There is one dish I order with a modification and they haven't gotten it wrong in 30 years. The primary reason I keep returning is taste. I often find that Chinese restaurant food has an unusual taste that I do not like. The food at Shanghai does not have this taste. Taste, freshness, order accuracy, family atmosphere and friendliness has kept me coming back for 30 years.

While in town for the 2026 Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion we stopped in for a bite to eat and…read morelisten to some live festival music during a late afternoon thunderstorm. They had a large outdoor seating area set up just for the festival, but normally it isn't there. We went and sat down and on every table there was a QR code where you could order right from the table kind of similar to some of the restaurants I've been to in Chinatown in Philadelphia. We had started to order when a waitress came to try and take our order. I believe she was just family helping out so some of our message got lost in translation. She brought my drink and then some 10 minutes later brought besties's tea after we tracked her down. They had typical Chinese restaurant fair on the menu. The restaurant wasn't super busy when we got there. There weren't a lot of people seated outside. It appeared. They had only three people running food and taking orders. A fair amount of gas did show up after us and probably got their food. We had to track somebody down as there was some delay in them actually pulling our ticket to go make our food after we had ordered via the QR code of the table. This was a bit disappointing. I can only chalk it up to having inexperienced help during the festival. When ordering on the app, you can make modifications to just about any dish. Bestie did order something called ants on a log - it was a vermicelli rice noodle dish. Came out completely wrong without any of the extra she ordered. I ordered a simple chicken and broccoli. Chicken had an odd texture and Bestie's dish had chicken too and she thought it was a little odd as well. She did get a new order made when we saw her order was wrong. We brought it to one of the waiters's attention and they made her a fresh order and that came out very quickly. Which we did appreciate. We were served on paper plates, which I can only assume was for the festival. There was live music playing in the front room of the restaurant which could be heard throughout. It wasn't super loud so we could have a conversation. The food tasted OK. It wasn't anything to rave about. Prices were very reasonable.
