At one point, I was asked to pull forward and wait along with about seven other cars while food was being prepared. There was very little communication or organization, and no clear explanation for the delays. By the time I received my order, the experience felt chaotic and poorly managed. I understand things get busy, but clearer communication and better order management would make a big difference. Hoping this location can improve, because the process was far more stressful than it should be for a quick stop.

The location is excellent in a shopping mall on the south side of I70. The interior decor is up to date and welcoming, but still has the fun signs Rib City's are known for. We were greeted and seated promptly by the server. The server was personable and welcoming as she took our drink orders and explained the lunch specials. There are many specials on the menu, but there are also specials on the table sign and the chalkboard sign as you enter. We always get the fried okra, and it was cooked perfectly as always. They are also serving fried pickles now. We each ordered the lunch special of a Pulled Pork Skyscrapers with 2 sides for $12.99. I got the green beans and fries, and my husband got the mac and cheese and baked beans. The pulled pork was delicious as always mixed with the NC vinegar based sauce and a side of coleslaw that goes on the sandwich. All sides were also good. Service was top notch the entire time. Special notes: whatever the seasonal cheesecake is GET IT! It is homemade and amazing. We got a slice to go, and it was enormous! The flavor this time was blueberry. So, so delicious! They also have a happy hour special on drinks and 1/2 off apps from 2-6 on weekdays. We will be back to this location frequently!

But this location absolutely nailed it. After driving all day up from Phoenix, Arizona, and through Monument Valley, I rolled into the truck stop across the street and walked into Wendy's about as hungry as a hired hand freighting loaded wagons across state lines through red-rock country and hadn't had a decent meal in a week. I stopped in for my usual cheat meal: two Dave's Triples and two medium fries. The beef tasted fresh, the buns were fresh, the vegetables were fresh, and everything was put together just right. The fries were exactly how they should be: golden brown, crisp on the outside, but not burnt, dark, overcooked, or tasting all crazy corroded. For me, the food is what matters most. I've seen some places with bad reviews because a cashier didn't smile or say hi. As an introvert, I'm not going into a fast food restaurant expecting the cashier to be all loquacious. I'm not there for a social circuit. I'm there for the food: good food, cooked properly, seasoned properly, and served the way it should be. That said, the staff was friendly and the service was good, so I have nothing to complain about there either.
