I don't know what it is with food, me and Kansas but I seem to have terrible luck. This place is no exception. Traveling down from Iowa back to Texas, we were starving and did not see anything for another xxxx miles down the road. We saw a Pizza Hut and thought, "We have those in Texas. How bad can it be?" (Apparently it can be bad. Very bad.) We walk in, pay for 3 buffets and 3 drinks. (Not the best $50 I have ever spent.) I have never felt or sensed a vibe before like I felt sitting down in here. It's like no employee wanted to be there and it showed. The pizza buffet had a bunch of pizza that looked like it could have been used for a children kitchen play set. And if you don't get that reference, it looked and felt like it had been sitting under the warming lamps for about 4 hours too many. The breadsticks could probably be used as weapon with as crunchy and hard as they were. The lettuce in the salad area had a hint of brown which is always what you want to see in your lettuce selection. Am I right? The rest of the salad buffet toppings looked old and crunchy. I don't know if you see a common word theme for this place. I think the word would be CRUNCHY. And that is most def not a word you want associated with pizza dough, which should be labeled as soft and pillowy. Over all, just keep driving past this place and find somewhere else. I placed an order last night of cheese bread, brownies and mozzarella sticks. They didn't deliver my mozzarella sticks and the cheese sticks were half baked! i have been trying since last night to call them but all i get is the call center in another state and they then send me to a voice mail box that is full!! This is the absolute worst Pizza Hut in the world tried to call him tonight no one would answer the phone so I drove up there and this is what I found an empty parking lot when I asked them they told me they were having a major Rush. A place my wife and I frequent. Love this place. Their pizzas are always done right, their servers will thoroughly explain anything you might need, such a specials, toppings and even price, and they do it with a smile. They treat every customer like a friend. I have never once had a bad experience at this pizza hut. Even when we'd have delivery, the drivers were cordial. There were, however, a time or two when we didn't get everything we ordered when we had delivery, but both the driver and the order take on the phone were genuinely apologetic. Good Pizza Hut. Service was good and friendly. Manager made sure we knew what the specials were. Dine in was just fairly busy but carry out was hopping. We ordered 3 pizzas for pickup at 11:30AM (called more than an hour ahead), and the order wasn't ready until noon. Stood around waiting for 30 minutes! We have eaten at this Pizza Hut previously and the Supreme Pizza was great. This time we went for the Pizza Dinner Buffet and were disappointed. The salad bar was low on supplies, but was refilled when we ask. The pizza selection was basis and skimpy an sauce. No pizza had mushrooms, bell pepper or any other veggies. The crust were good. This is your typical pizza hut. They have the buffet pizza lunch and salad bars if you're going to dine-in. You can also order online and pick up. They have a tv by the entrance for those who ordered online which show the status of your pizza. Currently have the $10 any pizza deal right now. But if you add or remove toppings, then that no longer applies which sucks because I like jalapenos on my pizza. Service is good and the restaurant is pretty clean. If I could leave a negative star for this place, I would. I just ordered pizzas online and my credit card was charged, but my order didn't go through to the Chanute store, they claim it went to the Pittsburg store because their website is screwed up. Now they want me to pay AGAIN for the same pizzas, only WITHOUT the online discounts and then they will "refund" the original charges and the overcharges for the no discount later. This is theft and absolutely ridiculous. I have never seen a restaurant that is so poorly ran. It's always a gamble if they will get your stuff right or not...normally not. It's a shame that the Humboldt store closed, they were awesome up there. read more

My family of four ordered the $10 dinner box from Chanute pizza Hut and the marinara sauce was cold but that was a minor thing so we didn't complain and within 30 minutes all four of us had stomach pains and diarrhea, sick to our stomach. read more

The office girls here at Nu Wa called in lunch today. It was the worst experience I have ever had at Pizza Hut in Chanute. First of all they called and said that they would be delivering late 10 minutes it was more like 20. Then on my order I ordered chicken alfredo with garlic bread they put it in 2 separate containers.
