My wife and I both have issues eating gluten in the US so we are dying for it when we get to Europe…read moreso while pizza isn't all that French we had to go for it. This place seemed to be frequented by a lot of locals and a little off the tourist path so we decided to go for it. They also apparently deliver but they don't speak much English and I don't speak much French so I think the language barrier would have made calling an order in a bit difficult - and it was a nice walk that burned off some of the upcoming calories that I was about to ingest. The pizza was thin crust with minimal toppings and cooked in an old brick oven and it was great. There were a lot of choices/combinations available and that included red or white sauce options. We had two different small pizzas and a house salad and I have to say these were larger than any small pizza I have ever ordered in the US. The toppings were clearly very good quality and the crust had a nice char and chew. The leftovers even tasted great for breakfast the next morning.

My waitress who was also the hostess was seemingly the only person working in the restaurant besides the chef in the back making the pizza. She was kind and patient with me as I barely speak french. They were very busy which I assume caused some delay for my food but I was so caught up in enjoying the atmosphere and overall vibe that it didn't cross my mind once. When my pizza arrived it was beautiful and delicious. When it came time to pay, the waitress told me that my glass of wine was on the house because I waited so long for my food. I tried to tell her that I would like to pay full price because I didn't mind but with her speaking little english and my little french, it got lost in communication. All this to say I will absolutely be returning for dinner soon and would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a good meal in good company.

I enjoyed a salad with all the ingredients in a jar: shake before you open the cap and eat. Also enjoyed a Risotto: heated perfectly at the counter The Chia seed dessert was excellent. The owner prepares meals daily and packages them in short mason jars with those easy-to-open latches so you can mix and match what you want to eat. You can eat in or take away your meal. They make all of their meals from scratch including making their own pasta. They make all of their fruit juices and most of their pastries. They do sell beet and wine and little sweet treats that aren't their own but these fill in to complete their menu. The space is super clean, bright and happy, very welcoming. They are open long hours every day of the week without the typical afternoon gap many restaurants have. They have enough people working for them that they don't need to take all or part of August off because of burnout after Festival d'Avignon, an annual live theater festival, held throughout July. Because they do pitch this as an Italian cafe they do offer a lot of high carb meals, your basic pastas. I wish they had more things like salads but I won't fault them for not because they are an Italian restaurant and they have done everything to perfection. Kudos to you, Vivotto.

I cant talk about their salad or meat dishes cuz I haven't tried. But we ordered linguini alla puttanesca and my wife ordered the linguini a la vongole (white sauce). The flavor of both dishes simply great, my puttanesca was among the best i have tried, and the vongole is second to none. The staff and owners are all from Italy and Chef Antonio can cook its pastas!!

Four different wines in each category so we chose the local white. Very nice. We planned on sharing a pizza but waitress convinced us we needed two. In the end we each ate half and I had pizza for my petite dejener this morning. We seemed to be the only Americans there which I like and indicates it's not a tourist place. Pizza was thin in center, requiring knife and fork, but a nice, thick, perfectly cooked crust allowed finishing it off by hand. All in all, a tasty, fairly priced interlude. €66 for two 12", multiple ingredient pizzas, a full bottle of wine, a liter of San Pelegrín and one of those tiny French coffees that I'm developing a taste for. We found this place not far from Maison Carree, and were lucky to be sat right when they opened without a reservation because the place quickly filled up and other patrons were being turned away. We got a negroni and an aperol spritz to start; both were great. The antipasti course of olives had some spicy crackers that we loved and a small bowl of cured meats in olive oil that we had never tried before. Certain pieces were a bit too chewy for us. We got a burrata salad, which was spectacularly delicious (fresh tomatoes, greens, a nice dressing all on top of an interesting flatbread). We were just a bit disappointed that the burrata was served cold and that there wasn't any avocado (unless we misread the menu???). The prosciutto and mushroom pizza we got was near perfect--so damn fresh and good. Our daughter had a chicken breast with some fries and was happy. Dessert was a scoop of strawberry for the little one and tiramisu for us. The latter was wonderful. Service was mostly great, but started to fall apart as the place got busy. Still, we had a nice time at La Locanda and left happy.
