A large waiter came out to growl at us to get off the patio! 5 minutes later he grudgingly let us in. Then the officious "maitre d" seated us inside at a rickety little table under a blazing naked light bulb. And deigned to serve a couple of glass of sour white wine. Then came a big tour bus group of noisy Americans... At this point, we cut our visit to this horrible place short and headed to the Airelles for a civilized meal with pleasant wait staff.

Large outdoor dining on roof. 8-10 tables inside. Full bar. Traveling carnival across the street lent an incredibly exciting atmosphere. Cook staff only spoke French but our lovely waitress could communicate well in English. 8-10 different pizzas and we didn't look at other options. Four different wines in each category so we chose the local white. Very nice. We planned on sharing a pizza but waitress convinced us we needed two. In the end we each ate half and I had pizza for my petite dejener this morning. We seemed to be the only Americans there which I like and indicates it's not a tourist place. Pizza was thin in center, requiring knife and fork, but a nice, thick, perfectly cooked crust allowed finishing it off by hand. All in all, a tasty, fairly priced interlude. €66 for two 12", multiple ingredient pizzas, a full bottle of wine, a liter of San Pelegrín and one of those tiny French coffees that I'm developing a taste for. If I were to return to .st. Remy for a third time I'd be sure to stop here.

The owner prepares meals daily and packages them in short mason jars with those easy-to-open latches so you can mix and match what you want to eat. You can eat in or take away your meal. They make all of their meals from scratch including making their own pasta. They make all of their fruit juices and most of their pastries. They do sell beet and wine and little sweet treats that aren't their own but these fill in to complete their menu. The space is super clean, bright and happy, very welcoming. They are open long hours every day of the week without the typical afternoon gap many restaurants have. They have enough people working for them that they don't need to take all or part of August off because of burnout after Festival d'Avignon, an annual live theater festival, held throughout July. Because they do pitch this as an Italian cafe they do offer a lot of high carb meals, your basic pastas. I wish they had more things like salads but I won't fault them for not because they are an Italian restaurant and they have done everything to perfection. Kudos to you, Vivotto.

Although there weren't many reviews, we decided to just go for it. We were seated immediately, and offered menus in English. Our server was friendly, spoke some English, and was patient with my broken French. We each ordered the Entrecôte, a salad to start, and a carafe of Rosé. Let me start with the salad. This was absolutely huge! Even though we were sharing one, we struggled to finish it. But just couldn't stop, because it was so fresh & tasty. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and topped with garlic butter that just enhanced the flavor of an already delicious steak. Even the frites were yummy. Their Rosé house wine was really good as well. I know that this is a fail on my part, but I seriously cannot remember what we had for dessert. I know that we both enjoyed it though. Oh, and their pistachio glaçe is delicious! We were only in St Remy for a week and visited this restaurant 2x. Both times we enjoyed the Entrecôte. The service was friendly, the prices are fair and the food was delicious!
