The restaurant inside was very pretty and had low lighting to make it look very intimate. I'd definitely consider Veranda a fine-dining Indian restaurant. We ordered the samosa tarts and malai chicken tikka from the appetizers and both were absolutely delicious! We also ordered mango lassi, butter chicken, and garlic naan (all automatic orders for us when we go to Indian restaurants) and none of them disappointed. However, we were a little disappointed that they didn't have a few menu items that we see back home or at other Indian restaurants like onion bhaji, pakora, biryani and tandoori chicken. The only complaint we had was the service wasn't that great. Our order was taken a few minutes after viewing the menu and the staff was very friendly but after we finished our appetizers, we felt neglected as other tables were served their food and we were waiting 25-30 minutes to get served our main dish. We had to let the server know that we were done our appetizers and ready for the main dish. I'm not sure if this is normal in Montreal or at Indian restaurants in Montreal? Other restaurants we were served our courses immediately one after the other, with maybe 5-10 minutes in between. It wasn't busy either for a Wednesday night where they only had 3-4 tables.
