a slice of pizza on a plate

Food is terrible I don't know how is this place still open . The pizza was burnt and disgusting , the wings as well . No way this was edible stuff was REAL NASTY !

New Owners Horrible Pizza Now So Greasy and Stale Dough

Please Be Advised This Is NOW Under NEW Ownership recently. It is horrible. The pizza was very greasy and the dough tasted stale. We will never go back. It should be wrong to Buy an Established Business only to fool the customers that it is the Same Owner and Food :(

Philadelphia Cheesesteak Adventure
James P.

Good amount of meat, good flavor and $7.25 including tax. I had Jordan and her Karl with me. We let Jordan pick the Cheesesteak and she chose fried onions and green peppers. The peppers are chopped up into small pieces. Everything on this cheesesteak work well together. Pizza city is takeout only. The pizzas look tasty. They have a thick thin crust and a lot of cheese. Free calendars while they last. Pizza City good choice if you're buzzing through Mayfair need a good Cheesesteak for $7.25.

Medium Pizza

Was excited for some pizza late at night when nothing else was open. Unfortunately the pizza was soggy and the cheese was way too dense that all the cheese kept falling off. I even ordered the pizza extra crispy and it was definitely not even close to a nice crisp crust.

Horribly wrapped cheesesteak from Pizza City

I used to love going to Pizza City but today the way they wrapped my cheesesteaks was very unprofessional and negligent. I was put on the phone with the owner offering me three more free cheesesteaks and free delivery why would I want three more free cheesesteaks when you just ruined my appetite with a poorly wrapped cheesesteak initially in the first place? Please everybody be aware their containers and wrappings are losing their touch they used to be a good pizza place but now when you order they are ignorant on the phone and the quality of the contents inside that poorly wrapped cheesesteak it's questionable anymore with this place on Frankford avenue Pizza City and Mayfair.. This was not my intent to tarnish another company but enough is enough. Thank you everybody and I hope nobody has to receive a delivery order in such poor despicable manner!!

Chopped Onion XX Cheese Pizza and Mushroom Steak Peperoni and XX Cheese Pizza

John and the crew are ROCKSTARS!!! I have been a Pizza City customer for almost 20 years. I live about 2 hours away and when I come in to Philly I get my fix if Pizza City. This is hands down the best pizza with in 200 miles. The person bitchin about too much cheese cracks me up. Thats what makes this pizza the best. Plenty of cheese and other toppings. The Stromboli's are absolutely killer. The steaks are great and the mega fries and pizza fries are bangin. This is a fatmans paradise... Can't wait for my next trip to paradise...

Sausage pizza. (sorry, I couldn't resist, had to dig in)
Joan F.

I'd eat here again.. and again.. and again.. Picture it, Philadelphia 2017.. in hankering for a sausage pizza and some fries. My friends are telling me to try this place pizza city. So I give it a try and I have to say, I was not let down. The French fries were on point, crispy on the outside soft on be inside, still piping hot. The pizza (although - little too saucy for me) was flavorful and adequate on the cheese. The amount of sausage was proportional to the pie. It wasn't super greasy. It was a little thin in the center but it didn't change my opinion. My daughter had the fried chicken, she said it was her favorite fried chicken ever. The Cole slaw came in a separate bag so it was still cold when it arrived A+. They initially said 45 mins for delivery but arrived in 30. Give them a whirl, you won't be regretful.

I really wish they would put garlic bread in their menu because I would be here more often! Maybe something for Paulie to consider? Anyway, if you haven't grabbed a slice from here, you're missing out. Do it grab a slice! The moots is very cheesy and garlic not greasy at all. The Freddy pepperoni is a must with the hot honey. I went different today and got the regular pep. It was good but go for the squared Pep with hot honey, the Mootz or sausage ! (Came here to say Hellboy² is my fav. )

I had the Mootz pizza, it was so immaculate that I had a dream about it today... a whopping 449 days after I had that pizza. I searched through a dozen pizza shops on Yelp and looked through pics of their interiors before I was able to figure out that it was Paulie Gee's that I ate at so I could write this review. I'm not a cheese pizza guy, but I can appreciate a really good one. If you enjoy a quality cheese pull (IYKYK) and garlicky goodness then get the Mootz... in fact get 2 bc that one slice is going to be gone way too fast. If I'm EVER in Philly again I'm bee-lining (or is it v-lining?) straight to Paulie Gee's to get 2 slices of the Mootz.

While I might choose another place for takeout, when the goal is a night of pizza, wine, great atmosphere, and authentic neighborhood vibes, this is usually where we end up. The space is bright, industrial, airy, and thoughtfully designed but unforced. White walls, warm wood, considered lighting, and a floor plan with real breathing room. The vibe recalls Bucktown, Wicker Park, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint: design-forward but genuinely local. There's a great bar, and booths near the kitchen with glass windows that let you watch the staff. Our three-year-old was mesmerized, and the staff was warm and playful, smiling and waving while they cooked. A small detail, but memorable. The crowd feels local. Good music, friendly people, hip but never pretentious. It's just a fun place to be with great service, too. The food is outstanding. We usually order the chicories caesar with grana padano and breadcrumbs, and the lettuce salad with shaved vegetables and creamy oregano dressing. For pizza, we love the arrabbiata (the Angry pie) and tomato pie with sausage and pickled chilies. My wife enjoys the ice cream. A note on bringing kids: I don't think this is a family restaurant, but if your kids are curious and well-behaved, it's absolutely worth bringing them earlier in the evening. We've gone around 4:30 or 5:00 on weekends and always felt comfortable. One time, our daughter had a full meltdown, and we were mortified, but the staff couldn't have been cooler. They packed everything to go, kindly and without any judgment. That kind of grace is hard to fake, and it genuinely stuck with us. Pricing is fair for the quality of the food and the experience. Places like this can seem overrated or overpriced, but this one doesn't. It offers real value for a memorable night out. The whole restaurant feels like a microcosm of Philadelphia's progressive, creative side. There's real ambition behind it, but it still feels human and grounded, nothing sterile, nothing corporate, nothing over-engineered. Just smart people building a cool neighborhood place that others actually want to spend time in. Oh, and make a reservation. Great spot, Joe. We'll be back soon. Thank you!

We walked in…read morewithout a reservation on a Tuesday night with hopes of being seated (Philly is still covered in snow, so our hopes were high) and got a nice little table in the corner right away. The hostess took our coats (a nice touch!) and then a rotation of two servers explained the specials and we ordered. I love that the menu is on the shorter side and they rotate the pizza offerings, so even if you're visiting on a regular basis, you'll always be able to try something new. Additionally, when a menu is only about 2 pages, you know everything on those two pages is top notch, as was the case at Pizzeria Beddia. This evening we got the meatballs (didn't take a photo, was too excited, but they were HUGE and excellent) and the beef, pork and veal balls with a rich red sauce was outstanding. Came in an order of 2 but one was plenty for each of us. The Pizza we got had potatoes on it, and we added sausage per the servers recommendation, and it was cooked perfectly and all of the flavors blended so well together. We are so lucky to have an amazing (and nationally recognized!) pizza spot in the neighborhood and it's always nice when you can walk in without a reservation from time to time.

I recommend a party of 3-4 to really maximize your experience. However, this year, we just weren't as hungry, so we did some girl math and decided it would be cheaper to do ala cart. We ordered two of the famous spicy caesar salads (must order!!), a ricotta toast, a White Claw pizza, and a finished off our meal sharing two chocolate budinos. The White Claw is a pretty classic white pizza, mozzarella and swirls of basil pesto; the crust is amazing! It pairs perfectly with the salad. The ricotta toast is decadent and addicting, but a little bit goes a long way. The chocolate budino was outstanding - sweet, with hints of espresso. We won't talk about how I ended up with some of it on my white turtleneck... Service was friendly and QUICK! We ordered, and I swear we had our first dishes in less than 10 minutes. The server was a doll, though I can't recall his name. Downside of Prunella, like anywhere in Center City, is there is no parking. Upside, is you're just a short walk from the 13th St. Septa Station, and you're literally equidistant from Broad and Market streets. Pro-tip: Killer happy hour specials, but only at the bar. Good selection of beverages, if you're into that type of thing. Come hungry, leave happy, and maybe don't wear white.

EXCELLENT LATE-NIGHT STOP! MUST TRY!…read more We walked in about an hour before closing on a Thursday night--never an ideal entrance. You know the look. The polite smile that says "it's fine" while the eyes say "it is absolutely not." Totally understandable. No one loves a near-close order. I even acknowledged it out loud--apologized, explained we weren't from the area, and that we were just trying to grab a quick bite because it was one of the few places still open. She said it was okay. Her face said otherwise. Fair enough. Here's where it turned around. The pizza came out hot, fresh, and legitimately impressive. Not "good for late night" good--just plain good. Every bite was fresh, the ingredients tasted clean, and the pizza clearly hadn't been rushed or phoned in despite the timing. Hunger probably helped, but even factoring that out, this was a standout. Honestly, I was kicking myself for not ordering an extra one to go before leaving the city. That's how good it was. We did try to get drinks, but were told the soda machine was down. The nozzles were off, so I'm guessing it was a cleaning/end-of-night thing. I won't ding them for it--though let's be real, tossing nozzles in sanitizer isn't exactly a marathon. Still, not a deal-breaker. Restaurant was clean, but of course, they were near closing. I tipped her a few bucks for staying late, and left genuinely satisfied. Bottom line: the food carried this experience completely. If you're visiting Philadelphia and need a reliable, fresh, late-night bite, &Pizza is absolutely worth the stop. Sometimes the places you expect the least end up delivering the most. I plan to 100000% return (and it'll probably be near closing time again, too)

I was immediately seated upon arriving to Pizzeria Vetri. I was asked if I wanted to sit at the bar, at a table, or at the pizza counter. I chose the pizza counter so that I could watch staff making pizzas. As I was there on my own, the serving staff continued to stop by and check on me. The menu includes neopolitan pizzas (12" feeding 1-2 people) and metro pizzas (28" feeding 3-4 people). They make pizzas, calzones, antipasti, and salads.
