If I could give this place 10 stars I would!…read more I can be pretty picky when it comes to lodging. The Manor at Blowing Rock checked all my boxes, and then some! I would define it as "Sophisticated Simplicity". I was staying here for a personal getaway and was assigned to a beautiful room with a separate sitting room, a gorgeous bathroom, and a zen bedroom. The decor was lovely, stylish and tasteful. The staff was professional and helpful. It was quiet and relaxing and only a short walk away from the town center, perfect location! There is a pretty little creek that winds along the back garden area, I really enjoyed sitting out and watching the ducks. I am torn between keeping this little gem all to myself, and sharing its amazingness with the world! I can't wait to come back.

Our experience at The Pineola was terrible. We booked a cabin for a family wedding, expecting a…read morenicer, more professional experience. Instead we got disappointment at every turn. Upon our arrival, we wanted to start a fire in the gas fireplace in the cabin. I reached out to the Pineola contact I had been communicating with via text and asked for directions for lighting the fireplace. Their response was to send a link to a document that didn't provide instructions. We then received a text that said the fireplace was not able to be used at that time. We expressed our disappointment, as that was one of the reasons we booked the cabin. There was no offer to move us to another cabin or any other accommodation. The next morning we had to reach out to them once again to ask about how to turn the heat up in the cabin, as the inside temperature had gotten to 56 degrees. After much work, we finally figured it out. Also that morning the water was out throughout the property. We were alerted at 8:45 AM via text, with no alternative suggestions for bathroom usage or showering facilities. The closest toilet we found was at the BP station down the street, and since we had family functions that day, showering was soon needed. The water finally came on at 12:00 PM. While the water was out, we received a standard text asking if there was anything they could do to improve our experience. I responded that it had not been a good experience: in addition to these issues, the décor was run-down, bed was lumpy, water pressure (when we had it) was low. I asked how they planned to compensate us for the inconveniences. They responded that the water issue was a surprise and that the fireplace in the unit was just for show. In fact, the fireplace was NOT for show, as it had a pilot switch and regulator attached. The cabin was also advertised with a fireplace on a detailed sheet on the website. We never received information on compensation, nor compensation in general. At that point, my husband and I decided to move to the Marriott Courtyard and sent a text that we were checked out. Our needs were dismissed and we were directly lied to about the amenities or lack thereof. To add to our frustration, the person on the text refused to provide the full name of the General Manager of the property when requested so that we could communicate with him/her directly rather than through a general email, preventing us from speaking directly with the person in charge to take responsibility for addressing the issues. We sent repeated emails requesting compensation with nothing but standard emails thanking us for the stay, no direct, personal response.

Close to amazing hiking trails and great restaurants. Plus, the tap room has cold beer and great live music. My favorite mug was purchased at their gift shop (which has a ton of fun stuff!), but unfortunately I dropped it. So, I'm looking forward to going back & getting a new one! I've stayed at the Pineola many times now and the staff were always incredibly attentive and friendly. Whenever we plan our hiking trips, I don't even bother looking at other lodging options, because we love staying at the Pineola!

This is a very new addition to Blowing Rock, built in 2024. And it shows, the place is spotless, modern and bright. The lobby has an amazing lounge and bar area with a full service fine dining style restaurant. Everything about is sleek and modern. We enjoyed an amazing evening at the bar and restaurant (separate review). Our room was immaculate, and again a very modern and sleek style. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, not a single complaint about the room or the cleanliness. And the views facing downtown Blowing Rock from the patio with the mountains in the background was superb. We enjoyed morning coffees and afternoon happy hours on this comfy patio overlooking the heart of Main St in downtown Blowing Rock. A pleasant surprise was the continental style breakfast which is included with the stay. A kicked up version with better food from what you'd expect at a Hampton Inn or comparable hotel. Highly recommend for a great stay in the heart of Blowing Rock!

Having never been to Boone, I suggested we go check it out, and found this relatively new Home2 Suites, right near the heart of the city, so decided to book it. It was easy to get to, right off the main strip, with plenty of parking. Parking is free, but you must display a provided parking permit while in the lot. Check in was very easy, and with the Hilton app, you even have the ability to check in on your phone, pick your room, and even use the your phone as the room key. The lobby was nice, well decorated, and designed, very bright and lots of natural light. The room was a nice size, with a mini kitchen, a small refrigerator with freezer (not mini fridge), a full size microwave, dishwasher glasses, plates and silverware, and kitchen sink (separate from the bathroom). There was also a sofa and desk/dresser area. The bed was ok, but a bit too firm for my liking. The stays included breakfast in the lobby, which offered a nice spread of warm and cold breakfast food, juices, breads, waffle bar, and yogurts It was a nice property, still very well maintained. The staff we encounter were friendly and helpful, and other than the bed, I was happy with the location and facility.

What stood out most: when locals heard where we were staying, they mentioned the place was brand new. Usually a new hotel is still working out the kinks the first few months or years after opening, but Hilton clearly handled this opening well, because everything ran smoothly from the moment we arrived. The staff was friendly and genuinely helpful, and the location is just about perfect for getting anywhere in Boone with ease. I'm a Hilton loyalist, and stays like this are exactly why. Highly recommend.

Traveling solo, I sat at the bar and found the service friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout my visit. My drink stayed filled, and the staff did a great job making a solo diner feel comfortable. I started with the soup, which was excellent and a great way to begin the meal. For my entrée, I ordered the large mac and cheese. The portion was generous, rich, and very satisfying after a long day of riding in the mountains. Everything was served hot and prepared with care. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, making it a great place to unwind after spending the day exploring the area. The restaurant felt welcoming without being overly formal, and I never felt rushed during my meal. Overall, I had a very good experience. Good food, attentive service, and a comfortable atmosphere. I would gladly return the next time I'm in Blowing Rock.

Hidden Gem in Blowing Rock…read more After spending the morning at Grandfather Mountain, I took the scenic route into Blowing Rock and stumbled onto an absolute gem. Hellbender Bed & Beverage and Bistro Roca share the same space now, and the result is one of the most charming spots I've found in the High Country. The outdoor patio was beautiful, with flowers everywhere, cozy seating areas, fire pits, and plenty of dogs lounging alongside their owners. The gravel patio was a little uneven, so my table had a slight tilt, but honestly, the atmosphere more than made up for it. I started with a glass of Crémant de Loire. Crisp, cold, refreshing, and exactly what I wanted after a morning of mountain exploring. For lunch, I ordered the Moules Frites. The mussels arrived swimming in a rich, flavorful broth with basil and sun-dried tomatoes, alongside a generous pile of perfectly cooked fries. The combination with the sparkling wine was fantastic. I cleaned the plate. The service was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely pleasant. My only suggestion is a little more attention to the details. If you're serving mussels, a spoon is almost essential for enjoying that incredible broth. A smaller seafood fork would also make fishing out the mussels easier. Minor things, but details that can elevate a great meal into an exceptional one. The prices were surprisingly reasonable. My entrée and glass of bubbles came in around $23, which felt like a great value considering the quality, portion size, and setting. I skipped dessert only because I was determined to finish every last fry, then headed into town to walk off lunch and hunt for something sweet. If I return--and I absolutely would--I might even stay at the inn. The cottages looked adorable, and the whole property felt warm and inviting. Just a short walk from downtown Blowing Rock, this place delivers on atmosphere, food, and mountain-town charm. Five stars for the food. Four stars for service. Five stars overall because I'd happily come back tomorrow. Life is too short to eat mediocre food. Get out there and stuff your face.
