Pixar Pier is located at Disney California Adventure Park and resembles a seaside boardwalk and amusement pier. If you've ever been to an amusement park by the pier you'll notice the wooden flooring and a Ferris wheel, and that's what you get here. It's the location of the most recognizable image of Disney parks with the Mickey wheel. It was renamed from Paradise Pier and now focuses on the different Pixar film franchises. The most popular attractions are Incredicoaster and Toy Story Midway Mania. For food, Lamplight Lounge is the most popular sit-down restaurant and also serves alcohol and is my favorite restaurant. At night the pier turns into the setting for the World of Color nighttime spectacular show. GETTING HERE: Pixar Pier is located at Disney's California Adventure Park (DCA). Head towards The Little Mermaid attraction and you'll soon be golden. :-) REVIEW: Where do I begin? There is quite a bit to do at PP, but I think the two attractions that are worth the price of admission are Toy Story Mania and the Incredi-coaster. I would highly recommend those and make sure you visit those 2 attractions for sure! There is something that is just extra-extraordinary about the Pixar Pier at night. The lights, the water, the wheel everything. It is just one of the most magical places at the Park, IMHO. There are a couple of places to get snacks and a couple of gift shops, but probably my favorite is the one that you enter right after Toy Story. Make sure you prioritize a stop over here. "Adventure is out there!" -Up What a fun area inside Disney California Adventure Park! We found Elastigirl by the Incredicoaster. Being a huge fan of the films and a mom myself, it was real treat taking a photo with her! We wanted to see some other Pixar characters as well, but they were sadly on lunch. My eldest and hubby loved the Incredicoaster, it looked "incredibly" fast and fun from down below!! I stayed with baby since she wasn't tall enough and sleeping in my arms. Pixar Pier is one of my favorite places inside Disneyland's California Adventure. Sometimes, my daughter and I will rope drop Goofy's Sky School to ride it multiple times over and over again for the first 30 minutes when DCA opens! Pixar Pier is filled with so much activities, entertainment, food, and rides! The Pixar Pier rides are listed below: Incredicoaster: This is the largest roller coaster at Disneyland and California Adventure. You'll go on a journey with baby Jack-Jack. The incredicoaster ride was my first time with a inversion, going upside down!. Pixar Pal-A-Round: There is a spinning and non-spinning option for the Ferris Wheel. This does shut down during the evening for their nightly shows. Jessie's Critter Carousel: Carousel ride inspired by Jessie's Critter Pals Silly Swings Symphony: Soaring Circles. It's located at the Paradise Gardens Park at Pixar Pier. This is one of my favorite rides at Pixar Pier. Goofy's Sky School: One of the most enjoyable rides for my daughter and I. This is one of our go-to rides at DCA. It's fast and thrilling! It does break down often, so try to ride it at least once! Toy Story Midway Mania: It's a 4D shootin' game ride at DCA. It's midway style where it goes from screen to screen. It always has a long wait time at DCA, usually average wait time is 45 minutes. If you can get a lightning lane ride for Toy Story Midway Mania, that would be my recommendation! Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind: Based on Inside Out, It's a small spin around ride. It's very similar to the original ride system at the It's a Bugs Life themed area, except re-designed for Inside Out. Jumpin Jellyfish: It's a small drop ride. You'll get to view the entire Paradise Bay though going on the Jellyfish! The Little Mermaid - Ariel's Undersea Adventure: There's is always a low wait time for this ride and one of my favorite's at DCA. You'll get to journey under the sea with Ariel and see scenes from the animated classic! The music and the animatronics are amazing! There is no height restriction for this ride! It is a slow, dark, and loud ride though! Golden Zephyr: This attraction is located at Paradise Gardens Pier at DCA. IT's designed as a retro-spaceship. No height restrictions for this ride, but it does, spin a lot! Sometimes this ride does shut down during the summer if it's too hot out! Games of Pixar Pier: Includes a WALL-E, Bug's life, and a lot more! Some of the dining experiences include the following Lamplight Lounge Poultry Palace Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats Senor Buzz Churros Angry Dogs New Shopping experiences include the following Knick's Knacks Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff There's a lot of entertainment and shows too! Good times and lots to do here! From its namesake, this is a Pixar movie themed land at Disney California Adventure. The first photo I took of my nephews was at Mickey's Ferris Wheel. While waiting for them on the top rated Incredicoaster (I hear it can go up to 55 mph!), I spotted Elastigirl or Mrs. Incredible and took a photo w/her. You can spot characters from various Pixar movie and have a photo opportunity w/them, ie. Inside Out and others. There are places to eat, snack, shop, and walk around at Pixar Pier. Lines for places vary and require patience. The single rider lines move quickly and so do the lines for the ladies room at for a Monday afternoon. Plan ahead early and use the app to make reservations for things. My fam members did that and it worked out well. Would definitely return to this part of DCA w/the hubby and/or the fam. 4 stars! read more

This is a fun area to walk around at Disney California Adventure. There are rides, food, snacks and games for all ages. When the park first opened in 2001, it was called Paradise Pier and was inspired by the amusement park at Santa Monica Pier. It would later be reimagined as Pixar Pier and incorporated the characters and themes from many of the popular Pixar movies. This area is really pretty at night when the lights are reflecting off the lake. The center attraction is the Pixar Pal-A-Round (formally called Mickey's Fun Wheel). My favorite ride at Pixar Pier is the Incredicoaster. Riding that rollercoaster is so much fun and never gets old. Incredicoaster is the sixth-longest steel roller coaster in the world and reaches a speed of 55 mph. My favorite snack is an ice cream from Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats. Other attractions include carnival games and a bunch of rides for kids. Keep an eye for character sightings from Pixar movies like "The Incredibles", "Toy Story", "Monsters, Inc" and "Inside Out". When I ran the runDisney 5K earlier this year, the finish line was inside the Pixar Pier. There are tons of attractions, including the Incredicoaster and the giant Pixar Pal-A-Round ferris wheel. From the snacks to the shops to the rides, almost everything is themed after Pixar movies. You can play carnival games inspired by A Bug's Life and WALL-E; an animatronic Mr. Potato Head acts as a boardwalk barker as you enter the delightful Toy Story Midway Mania! We ate lunch at the Lamplight Lounge on our most recent trip, and that was by far the most pleasant and civilized meal I've had at the parks, complete with a cocktail and a lovely pier view. There are plenty of grab-and-go options, too, and the pier is a great place to enjoy any loose snacks you might have packed. The lights are GORGEOUS at night, especially just walking onto the pier or looking at the Ferris wheel. Pixar Pier is home to all the Pixar themed rides, shops, and where you can meet all the Pixar characters for their meet & greets. I have seen Elastigirl, Edna Mode, the characters from Inside Out, and Bo Peep. During Oogie Boogie Bash, Sid is there for his treat trail stop & I got to meet Remy from Ratatouille ! Almost like walking on a boardwalk Pixar Pier is modeled after the beaches' boardwalk carnival extensions that head over the water. There is a midway area complete with games and prizes. Rides in this area include Pixar pal around and Incredicoaster-(reviewed separately), Jessie's critter carousel, and Inside out emotional whirlwind. There are also fast food places for snacks, churros, and the Lamplight lounge for sit down dining. Next to Pixar Pier is Paradise gardens park. Although the theming is a bit different they offer more rides tailored to kids. It wraps partially around the lagoon facing the pier and to me would see an extension of this area since it is basically amusement park rides. There is a sitting area near Incredicoaster that is in a rooftop open air shelter where you can get out of the sun and relax a bit. There really isn't any shade in this area so any place to get out of the heat is a welcome relief. Have a look at some of the Boardwalk style signs as you walk around the pier. They are fascinating and have catchy phrases. Course you can always catch the iconic Mickey Mouse circle right in the middle of the Pixar Pal around. It's a great place to get some nice photos. CA Adventure's World of color one takes place here which is their nightime entertainment. This is also home to the seasonal Ogie Boogie bash during Halloween. Since a lot of the attractions are meant for children expect to see large crowds here. Yet your day at CA Adventure would not be complete without walking through it and seeing it. Pixar Pier in California Adventure Disney has 29 rides including 2 roller coasters and that iconic Ferris wheel. They even have carnival games and food stands. The fireworks show is shot off from the lagoon. But when I visited the park, the fireworks show was temporarily suspended. Aww shucks. Some notable rides for the adults are the Incredicoaster and Goofy Sky School. For the younger kiddos, they would probably enjoy Toy Story Midway Mania, Jesse's Critter Carousel, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, Ferris Wheel, and Floating Jellyfish. Some notable food stands are the Adorable Snowman Treats, Poultry Palace, Jack Jack cookies, Angry Dogs, Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff, and Senor Buzz Churros. Adorable Snowman has dairy-free soft serve options. Jack Jack has a gluten-free cookie option. I do not recommend the hot dog at Angry Dog, it was a disappointing value for the price. But the food stand has a cool statue of the character Angry from the Inside Out movie. Stop by to take a selfie. Speaking about selfies, check out Bing Bong's Sweet Shop. There is a huge colorful statute of Bing Bong sitting on top of a pile of candy. Also check out the big ole Talking Mr. Potato Head in front of Toy Story Midway Mania Ride. If you are looking for a more substantial meal, check out the Paradise Grill. They serve Mexican food. They have a covered dining area and it is next to the larger tree shaded open dining patio. Both areas are open to everyone. It is terrific place to rest and hang out for a bit especially on a hot summer day. You may even see Lilo or Stitch (Disney characters) make an appearance in the gazebo in the tree covered patio area. Get this, in the other gazebo between this area and the Paradise Grill is where Miguel (Disney character) makes his appearance. You can catch Edna Mod making her appearance slyly on the pier near the lagoon next to the billboards. read more

I have to admit, I felt a little disappointed when they renamed California Screamin' to Incredicoaster because I loved the nostalgia. However, Pixar Pier has definitely become a must-visit at Disney California Adventure! I always enjoy the coaster. I haven't tried any of the food places yet, but I'm eager to visit Ariel's Grotto for their lobster nachos, ideally when the line isn't too long. read more

But, this theme doesn't match the California theme of the park and they shouldn't have put it in exactly and waited to put the new Pixar theme until the new future theme park. Such a fun and magical part of the parks, California Adventure offers this wonderful "pier" alongside the big lagoon and features that glorious, huge ferris wheel with the iconic Mickey. How do you not love all of this? Somewhat similar to some of the festive piers plotted along the California coast, this one also has a carnival type feel to it. There are rides, carnival games and eats, plus many characters! I love strolling along the pier, especially when Woody or Buzz are out there. My inner child just feels so happy! The Pixar Pier is where you'll find the Incredicoaster which is a fast paced upside down thrill, Jessie's Critter Carousel where you can ride on top of a backwards skunk, in Toy Story Mania you can challenge your friends to a shooting gallery like duel, plus carnival games such as Bullseye Station Stampede, Heimlich's Candy Corn Toss and a couple others! This is also a great place to try some fun foods, Jack Jack cookies, Buzz's churros that are spicy (sweet is also offered), Lemon soft serve ice cream at Adorable Snowman. If you want a sit-down place that overlooks the water and has a great view of the Pier, try Lamplight Lounge. You can grab a cocktail, small plates, or even a nice meal. Great place to take fun photos, it never gets old taking a photo with the giant Mickey head lit up behind us. Definitely a great place to get festive and have some fun. read more

We love Pixar Pier - a lot of our favs are located here! First, you gotta try the Zombie alcoholic beverage and lobster nachos at Lamplight Lounge. Don't be detoured by the line outside because if you're willing to sit upstairs outside (versus climate controlled dining area downstairs), you can usually be seated quickly. They have the cutest character coasters that we always take home, too lol. The blue raspberry slush/lemon soft serve that's available at the ice-cream shop across from Lamplight Lounge is a great value! It's huge in portion compared to its price in comparison to other desserts in the same price range. The line here is enormous in summer, so be aware of that! Incredicoaster is one of our fav rides! The line is surprisingly short most of the time compared to the other more adult-ish rides. We've never bothered with single rider because the regular line always moves quickly. Toy Story Mania is super fun if you can catch a Fast Pass for it! Beware they go very quickly because this ride is fun for all ages! The pier had been in the works for some time, and I visited the revamped pier on July 4. I was most excited for the new additions of food and the rebranded incredicoaster. We got in the esplanade around 8am and headed to DCA. My friends and I went over to the fastpass distribution to get our fast passes (since not all of us had maxpass). We had no issue getting a decent time (10.25am). We walked the long way around the pier after picking up our fastpasses to check it all out. Incredicoaster is great. Same coaster, new experience. Give it a ride. My disappointment about this "event" is that the pier was unveiled as new and exciting, but it is still only partially completed. The old merry-go-round is still under construction, the Inside Out attraction wont be completed until after Bugsland closes (they are re-purposing a ride), so there was still a lot of gaps. I did like the additions of jack-jacks cookie num nums, the chicken palace and the angry dogs hot dogs. I tried a cookie the day I was here and it was pretty good. My other half got the angry dog (spicy one) and said it was spicy. It is also served with hot Cheeto fries, but they will sub for regular lays if you request. the hot dogs also have a variety of different ketchup and mustard to choose from. I really liked the revamped boardwalk games taking the theme of Pixar films and shorts. I think they are all very cute, and I would play the wall-e game just to get MO. The la Luna game is adorable and super easy to play. just pick a star and the color determines the prize. I liked the giant luxo ball water statue. It adds a bit of cool to the area. Overall, I cant wait to go again, and I can't wait to see if finished. My review rating may change once it is actually completed. read more

Best part of the park. Do much to do, places to eat and more importantly, places to relax. There's the games, which has one easy one. The first: fishing for stars guarantees a Pixar Pier plushy. The others are Bug's Life, Wall-E and Toy Story. Speaking of Toy Story: Midway Mania is one of the better interactive rides in both parks. Be sure to get a Fast Pass, its line is always long. Lots of classic rides to the renamed Incredicoaster. One of my all time favorite coasters and best in the both park. Ferris Wheel is fun and relaxing, unless you choose the swaying one. That's good fun. I still crave the lemon ice cream from Adorable Snowman's and the Angry Dogs are good, just pricey. As you'd guess. You cannot make sure to see everything you can, let alone World of Color on the waterfront is way better than fireworks. Honestly. read more

Best spot in California Adventure for three main reasons: 1. The view and pier is breath taking. If you are able to visit at night, watch the World of Colors show. Better than the fireworks, and they just recently fixed it! 2. The food stands and restaurants here are the best. My favorite is the place where you can get a big bread bowl of clam chowder for $15. There also several stands that serve beer and a restuarant that serves hard liquor as well ($14 double well whiskey). 3. The Incredicoaster is our favorite rude due to better wait times, the coaster is balanced between speed and turns, and the music from the movie is jazzy and chill. As someone who loves an immersive experience and great food I was surprised how this place really doesn't live up to the hype that people made out of it. Let me explain. I will explain the problem with reservations, customer service, and the quality of the food. We had been told for quite some time that their food is amazing and more specifically that their lobster nachos were amazing. So as such in a consumerism manner my wife and I had our foodies senses going off and decided to check it out. My first issue was with the reservations which is nearly impossible to get even when you try to reserve it months in advance. We visited the park two times before we were able to get a reservation to try and see if we could walk-in. I asked if we could get could a walk-in for a party of 5 and they said there limit was 3. I then asked if we could just get seated for 3 and they stated they had no available space at that time and said I can wait if I wanted to. The two workers at the door were crass and really let it show that they did not care to be there. We weren't given any other choice but to wait which we did for 25 minutes before leaving and taking our business elsewhere. Flash forward to nearly 6 months August 2022 and we were able to get reservations for two people and had to exclude the rest of our family (party of 9). We finally made our way in and were promptly sat outside to look over the menus and felt like a beachside ambience outside. The ambience is nice and staff was quick and supportive. The food here, regardless of the hype, was subpar. We started with what brought us there in the first place: the lobster nachos. The nachos overall were rather good but they weren't amazing. We could tell the lobster was not fresh just by the taste and lacked any real seafood taste to the dish. The nachos were filling but we wanted to try at least two other dishes to justify us making our way down there. I ordered the chicken and couscous which was under seasoned but overall a decent meal. Chicken was nice and juicy and good. My wife had the poboy and it was instantly forgettable. I'm not saying the food was terrible it's just not worth the fight of hunting for a reservation for this place and the amount it costs for each item. The check finally came and as we were ready to pay I noticed a party of at least 11 not far from us and asked why they said they can only seat 3 people. We were celebrating a birthday and wanted to be able to have our family so why are there groups receiving treatment that is not offered to everyone? The waitress said she didn't know how they got seated in their party. Would I recommend this place for their experience or food? No. In my opinion the best place for great food and experience is carthay circle. read more

One of the best soft served ice cream I've ever had. It didn't melt quickly, which I really liked. It was perfectly silky and creamy but not cloyingly rich nor sweet...it was just right! The portion was generous for a smaller cone, too. And it was a perfect treat while waiting in line for rides and, no, I wouldn't suggest indulging in this right before going on California Screamin'. Located near California Screamin. I came here since my daughter wanted to go on the roller coaster ride. I'm not a roller coaster girl because I get motion sickness easily. They serve Soft Serve Ice cream but there are only two flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate, or Swirl. You have a choice of getting it in a cup or cone (Regular or Large). Other than Ice Cream they also have Floats, Coffee, and beverages. You order at a window then pick it up at the next window. ~Note: They don't have kids size scoops ::Dessert:: We got one Vanilla Swirl on a cone but requested to split it into two cones. The ice cream was thick and smooth; the Vanilla flavor was good. The staff also creates a nice swirl; the portion was tall and thick. ::Customer Service:: We ordered and got our ice cream. ::Rating:: For the flavor, quality, portion, and size... it's a deal especially being in California Adventure! **Located inside DCA** Be wary of those reviews and pics from 2010! They changed a lot since then.. It is now 2015, the 60th anniversary! Unfortunately, they don't sell dipped cones here, but they still have the creamy soft serve ice cream - vanilla, chocolate, or swirl. They also sell floats here - root beer, Fanta, coke, sprite, etc. One float is huge.. Unless you're greedy like me, you might want to share with someone else ;) You'll see from the photos that this ice cream shop is located across from Ariel's Grotto - behind the shop. I know a lot of people don't like change, but leave it to Disney to change what was good into something even better! Sure Paradise Pier was pretty good, but it was pretty much a hodge podge collection of Californian stuff with a few Disney things thrown in. I like that it is now a collection of everything Pixar. I might be a little biased as Toy Story, Up, and the Incredibles are some of my favorites. read more
