DO NOT GO HERE WITHOUT DISCUSSING PAYMENT CLEARLY I remember my first visit - they took my insurance and it was a 20 dollar copay. Wonderful! Fast forward several months and I got a 900 dollar bill. Each visit cost different amounts and this was never discussed. If I had known different treatments would cost me different amounts of money I would have declined. Jake was my physical therapist. Estimated I would need about 6 weeks of PT, twice a week for Achilles tendinopathy. He explained treatment plan, was very professional, friendly and patient. Gave me a home exercise regimen as well. Within 4 weeks I was feeling less pain and by 5 weeks was pain-free and he encouraged me to do the activities I was avoiding because they had been too painful. I'm discharged and back to playing pickleball 5 days/week. Front Desk staff (Shayla) was very helpful with scheduling and contacting me when openings were available. The PTs were OK, although most days they seemed overtaxed and didn't give enough 1 to 1. Billing is HORRIFIC!!! I am still fighting a $60 bill that all the sudden appeared 4 months after I stopped going for PT. They are telling me my copay is TWICE what they told me it was before and that they just go from "the EOBs", so putting it on the insurance, sure that I won't know how to read that I guess. So, I continue to address this over and over and over and over...... until they stop billing me for amounts I already paid. AWFUL!! Will NEVER use them again!! Such a scam. read more

I have just completed my third round of physical therapy at Pivot. The first time was after having a knee replacement, and the last two times were as a result of falling and breaking my pelvis and later complications that resulted from that fall. It has been a long and painful road, but I can't say enough wonderful things about the Pivot staff at the facility in Newport News on Warwick Boulevard. They always listened to my questions and concerns and went above and beyond to help me. After my pelvic surgery, I was barely able to walk with a walker. After four months with Ken and Kate, I was able to perform all normal activities without any assistance. It was unbelievable. When I later developed back pain from arthritis in the pelvic fractures, they worked with me on exercises to successfully manage that pain and avoid further surgery. Obviously, I hope that I don't have to go back for more PT, but if I do, I won't hesitate to go back to my "friends" at Pivot. I went to Pivot for two and half months late last year/early this year after being hit by a car while running and ending up with fibular and tibial fractures and an LCL sprain. My orthopedist had shared that it would be about 6 months to full clearance but I ended up being fully cleared after 3.5 months. I worked with Tate and he really did a great job. In the beginning I was a bit nervous (despite the fact that I've been athletic all of my life, I'd never had any knee problems, and was more tentative in the beginning than I ever thought I would be) and he did a great job of getting me past that quickly, and then once I was, he did a great job of helping me make sure I pushed, but not too much (I tend to overdo things sometimes). I tend to want to understand everything that's going on and so asked a lot of questions which Tate always patiently answered! Additionally, he's just friendly and easy to get along with. During my time there, I interacted with a lot of the Pivot team in that location (Katie, Maggie, Shayla, Leslie and more) and they were all a joy. They have created a great balance in providing a quality physical therapy experience, while also making it fun and "light". I hope that I don't have to go back (for obvious reasons), but if I am ever in need of PT again I wouldn't hesitate to choose this Pivot location again. read more

Moscow,PA clinic: Therapists were really good, I can say that because this wasn't my first time in therapy for injuries. One problem I had though was with the front desk attendant Jessica C. She was very snobbish when I asked her about insurance and acted like she was above me in intelligence about my insurance. I know very well how my insurance works and told her she was over-charging me for my visits although she wrongly claimed that she wasn't. Well when my therapy was complete, I received a substantial refund check from Pivot's regional billing office. (After I called them about the matter). Like I said, I thought the therapists were really good, but beware of what you are billed by them and check with your insurance company if you have to deal with Jessica in the Moscow office. read more

I just received my first Tricare explanation of benefits statement and I was horrified by the charges for itemized coded services!! I received little one on one care. Most of the time I was not sure if I were doing the exercises correctly. The bike was never wiped down after use. A pair of glasses was found under the pillow I was using. The equipment was dirty as were chairs. I was passed off to a young gal who started on the wrong leg and I had to raise my voice to "my" therapist. A patient rudely used her cell phone for over 20 minutes chatting on speaker phone to her Granddaughter and I could not concentrate on my exercises. I have never been to a PT place that allowed cell phone usage ANYWHERE. I spoke up and nothing was done so I called the manager but he had called and left me a message. He still did not put up a "NO Cell Phones" sign and people still use their phones. On Thursday, I received little attention from my PT and it was my last appointment scheduled. After my knees were iced, I put on my shoes, gathered my belongings, and walked out. She never said a word. I have no idea if I am to continue or not. So, I called there today to ask about this ridiculous Tricare statement and I was told I had to call Billing. They are closed. So, hopefully they will call me tomorrow. In the meantime, I am posting pictures of some untidiness, dust, dirt, and grime. I doubt the place is regularly vacuumed either. They do have hand sanitizer and bottled water but cleanliness should be a priority, too. read more

This place is great! I started coming here after I tore my ACL for the second time prior to and after surgery. Samantha is an amazing physical therapist! She had me back to normal six weeks after surgery which is really fast and significantly shorter than my first surgery! I was off my crutches completely in two weeks thanks to her. It started at two times a week for three weeks prior to my surgery and then for the next two weeks I continued to do the strengthening exercises at home until the date of my surgery. After surgery, I came twice a week for six weeks and then I just continued to do my exercises and start using the elliptical and stationary bike at home. My doctor and I were completely impressed by the progress I was able to make here. Their schedule is flexible so I was able to schedule before and after work with no problems. I will recommend this place to anyone looking for a great Physical Therapy office. read more

This is my second week getting physical therapy and Silvia is the person that is overseeing my care with the help of Megan, but Megan is leaving soon and will be going to PT school in January. They are both competent and try and give me home exercises, but I would rather come to the office under their supervision and work on them. I've been to this place before under a different name and it was for another issue. This time, my left knee has been bothering me so I've been told to come here for the next 4-6 weeks for 1-5X a week. I've chosen to come 3X a week. My insurance's co-pay is $30 and thank goodness I have flex spending dollars; otherwise I probably wouldn't be able to afford it. The massage that I've received on my knee did wonders today and the pain in my knee (as I got of the car) went away. I was told that I definitely need to stretch out my IT Band on the side of my legs with a roller. I will go to bootcamp tonight, so we'll see what happens...I'll try not to aggravate it and do heavily modified moves. Wish me luck! read more

Had an appointment for 7 am I was on time. However, they did not open or get there till close to 7:30 am. Had to hear about them complaining about getting there early. If you don't want to get out of bed to go to work don't make appointments!!! They get paid quite a bit for this too!!!! read more

Laughter is truly the best medicine. The staff at Pivot are some of the highest caliber people I have been fortunate enough to meet. Part of their regiment, intended or not, is laughter and it was immensely beneficial to my healing process. First, management should be lauded for creating a cohesive team that works brilliantly together. My transition from signing in to executing the exercises are never interrupted. Everyone performs like merry little elves in Santa's Workshop. Second and most importantly, laughter is abundant here and in my opinion extremely pivotal (see what I did there?) to the recovery process. I walked into Pivot four months ago with a legendary ruptured Achilles tendon. It tore me up not to be able to play rugby for the remaining season. But the optimism and care exhibited by the staff made me forget about my plight. I stopped noticing my injury and started enjoying my training sessions. Now I am getting ready for a spelunking adventure in Iceland. PIVOT has built a strong team in their Arlington office. The team functions extremely well and have found their groove. Their professionalism, laughter,joy, and pride in what they do is rejuvenating for patients like myself. I highly recommend PIVOT Physical Therapy for mending your legendary ruptured Achilles tendon and a good laugh to help you forget what ails you. Service was okay. However I was using teh service 6 months ago, they are still sending me bills. No explanation of billing were provided. No one answering phone. You just pay $260, and $130 more and whatever they want to bill you next time, or they will send you to collectors. I payed first one, even though it was no explanation, now I am trying to contact someone, but they are not answering phone. It's all on the top of $85 per session every time I got there. read more

The PT played on her laptop for almost the entire duration of ALL of my visits -letting her intern do everything. I have no complaints about his performance, but question her integrity. SO far, not a great place, but still worth the convenience due to its location. THEN, I get a bill for almost everything. Pivot billed the wrong procedures under the wrong provider (the PT who didn't do anything), and of course my insurance declined to pay all but a measly $25. My insurance told me if they had been billed correctly, all the visits would have been covered. So now I have called the single number available for the billing department (no chat, no email, no app) at least 20 times. After five minutes on hold- even if you are the so-called "caller #1" the system forces you into leaving a message. You will never get though. Of course I have not been called back. It's the complete lack of communication regarding the billing department that infuriates me the most. This is a company who can email you short videos of your therapy and uses an app to send your bill-- but they only have one contact method (and apparently only one operator) for billing questions/issues??? Unacceptable. Not impressed, and will not return. I will ask for another referral elsewhere. read more

If you are looking for the BEST Physical Therapy place - THIS IS THE PLACE! I came to Pivot with a broken 5th metatarsal, after two months in a cast and two recommendations from 2 different foot specialists to do surgery. When I met Conrad Carter, it was my "life belt" moment. Conrad listens to my story with care, emphatic, and professionalism. From that moment, we worked very hard, and after four months, my broken foot healed 100%!!!! No need for surgery! Conrad and his team (each of them) made it happen with their unique listening process, creating each session according to my experience and condition. They are all very professional. It felt like a family that wants to see you healthy. They sent me home with homework exercises and made sure I understand them with videos to remind me how to do them while at home. The staff was nice but I was quoted prices before starting with Pivot in Chantilly, VA. My insurance would not cover my physical therapy since I just got it after losing my job due to Covid and its the marketplace with a very high deductible. My Dr's orders were to have an evaluation and a home plan designed knowing my insurance did not cover therapy and losing my job. I received 3 exercises which my Dr. was not happy with and my insurance company was billed $360 for the evaluation and $260 the next day for a follow up. The insurance company adjusted the amount a small amount but I still owe more than was quoted. I was told $185 for the evaluation and up to $85 for the follow up. Needless to say I will not be able to go back. read more

Their billing services are VERY deceiving. Paid my co-pay every time I went but a the end of the month, received a bill for additional fees I was NEVER told about. I specifically asked what I would owe each session. Gave them my insurance and they told me what each session would be...until I received my statement. So wrong!! I recently had two appointments at Pivot Physical Therapy. Both were bad, the second one being much worse than the first. It was my bad luck to get a physical therapist with a bad attitude. I never understood why, but she was abrasive, pushy, cold and rude to me from the start, but she would not admit it. Her behavior was unlike any behavior I had expected! The last appointment I had to end early unfortunately. I was only about 5 -10 minutes late for my second appointment and apologized for my tardiness, but she was not understanding at all. It's a real shame as I need physical therapy, but not the abusive physical therapy she had offered. Believing that this service was typical of this office, I cancelled my remaining three appointments. My recommendation is a hearty NO! Should anyone want service from PIVOT physical therapy be forewarned, you might need to take along a patient advocate or friend to observe. read more

I went to Pivot for 10 sessions over the course of 2 months. Sam Shook was my therapist who was outstanding! I have had ankle issues for over 10 years, after 3 successive sprains and an upcoming trip to climb Kilimanjaro in 8 weeks, I decided to do PT. Sam catered to my crazy schedule and adjusted my recovery to ensure I would have a chance to climb Kilimanjaro. After 7 weeks of therapy I set off and was able to successfully climb the mountain without the aid of an ankle brace and with no injuries! I'm very thankful I finally received therapy and hope this is the end of my ankle issues for good. Sam was always very professional and understanding of my unique situation. read more

I would not recommend. They are very unorganized and I think they try and drag out visits so they can keep billing you. My surgeon said it should not have taken as many days in PT with them to get where I needed to be after rotator cuff surgery. 10mos later, shoulder was still not right. I went to another Dr who did my sons surgery (for 2nd opinion) and he got it straight for me. Also, they can't keep records of billing and visits straight. They had billed me twice the copay amount that I owed. They didn't want to deal with correcting it via paperwork so said the next 11 visits I would just not pay. Of course they screwed that up and keep trying to bill me for visits I don't owe. Just a bad experience for me. read more

ARLINGTON OFFICE - All of these therapists do not pay any attention to the exercises you are doing or are professional at all. They only talk over you to have personal conversations with the other therapists (boyfriends, cooking, vacations). They didnNOT read my prescription for what my doctor sent me in for. I left hysterically crying due to pain. I am in the middle of speaking with the HR department. Please check out another pivot office ( I haven't yet) or GO SOMEWHERE MORE PROFESSIONAL! read more

The staff here is very friendly and outgoing, however sometimes (not always) a little too laid back. My physical therapist, Kelly, is awesome, she's very attentive and listens to what's bothering me. She definitely cares about what's going on and always encouraged me to stay positive when she sensed my frustration with my injury. In terms of my pain and the reasoning for me being there, I've been going there consistently 2x a week for a little over a month now. I have experienced some relief from my back pain, however I still have pain and am not able to get back to working out. I feel like at this point I should be experiencing more relief, but I'm also not sure what the normal time frame is for healed back pain. I will most likely keep going for another few weeks and see how it develops. read more

I was referred here from my obgyn since I was having some pain in my right hip area. I was told to do some stretches and exercises to alleviate the discomfort. I would rate them higher except I had been seeing them twice a week (Tuesday's and Thursday's) I felt like I didn't have time to put in any sort of routine to try since every couple of days I would be incorporating a new stretch or so. The last time I went in there she massaged the area that had been hurting but I left to go back to work and could hardly walk. I was definitely in more pain then when I walked in there. I decided at that point that I would call to schedule an appointment if I found it necessary. read more

I am 64 and have several serious medical issues including neuropathy. It is a cruel and baffling disease for which there is no cure. The constant pain cripples and depresses and angers. Doctors are useless for the most part. But thankfully the folks at Pivot in Arlington are able to provide partial relief through intensive exercising, stretching, and massages. I am grateful to them and admire their diligence, thoroughness and bedside manner. I still hurt but I know they are doing their damndest to relieve my suffering. After 5 or 6 sessions, I count them as friends or family. I have been treated by several physical therapists. Some have been quite good, but Pivot is by far the best by a country mile. This is a shout out to Anne, my wonderful therapist. At a time and in a city where there is so much self-absorption and so little empathy, Anne is sadly an endangered species. Anne's assistants, Megan, who pushes me when I need pushing, Nicole, who provides sartorial counseling as well as exercise instruction, and Young Stewart, who kicks my posterior while chatting me up about our Wizards. are not surprisingly also terrific. I also have been treated by Vincent, who is a true pro and a pleasant guy .Last but not least the receptionist team of Latonya and Aaron are exceptionally competent, organized and warm. (If I have left anyone out, my apologies. But this place is chock full of kind, decent, well-trained young people. ) Their extraordinary care has given me hope that Millenials are OK after all! I came in to Pivot with a plantar fasciitis inury from 7 years ago and never really did much to have it taken care of. Since, I am a business owner and haven't had much time to get this taken care of until now. I came in not expecting to have much change as far as the pain I was dealing with on a daily basis, but I was willing to do the exercises that the therapist wanted me to do just in case this may actually work. I have to say that I was totally surprised to make a full recovery. Thanks to Vince, Stuart and the entire Virginia square Pivot team for making the therapy a very enjoyable success for me. I now can run on a regular basis without experiencing any pain. I highly suggest going to Pivot Virginia square if you are dealing with pain and need physical therapy. I had chronic medial epicondylitis, and after the exercises and dry needling for a few weeks = I was at 90% better. I'm now totally cured from something I was struggling with for over 7 months.
