When I say that Sarah Sheridan changed my life, I'm not exaggerating. I was diagnosed with an incurable debilitating condition called POTS in 2021. My doctor suggested that I try physical therapy to help improve my symptoms. I was very skeptical at first - after all I went from being a very active person to not even being able to walk for 5 minutes without symptoms. But, I gave it a shot. Now, after 9 months or so of PT, I'm back to walking 10k steps without symptoms and am getting back on my Peloton bike after years of not being able to!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the POTS program to anyone suffering with this illness. Sarah is kind, patient, upbeat, understanding, and a constant cheerleader. She pushes you but not TOO hard that you want to stop. I started seeing results in a couple of months after doing the protocol. Today, I graduated. I saw Jenna, DPT for pelvic floor therapy post-surgery for about 4-ish months and she was amazing. Let's start from the beginning... I had surgery in June 2022, around late July I called to get an appointment with Jenna but there was a 6-8 week waitlist. She's the only pelvic floor therapist there, so get on the waitlist early if you know you're going to need it. They accept insurance unlike a lot of PTs in our area, so that's why I chose them in addition to Jenna's good reviews online. On day 1, I completed a short questionnaire asking about my symptoms. I met with her and she did a thorough intake. Be prepared to talk about your body in detail, I find it helpful to be specific with my doctors when I'm trying to reach a goal (100% healthy), so I share dates and exact details. She came up with a plan for my care and we continued to meet for the next few months. We had great conversations as she massaged and stretched my body. She was respectful and asked permission for everything that was invasive. Techniques: - She has a background as an athlete and uses Chinese medicine with cupping for the healing process and I loved that. - She drew and wrote out the stretches I need to do for homework daily. Here's the kicker, I went to my doctor for some odd spasms I was having. The same day I had PT with Jenna, I told her the symptoms, she looked at my spine, saw some slight misalignments, then stretched me like a pretzel. My back cracked real good and I lie to you now 85% of my spasm pain was gone after that. I was shocked! It was at that point, when I said "I'm seeing a physical therapist for pain before my doctor from here on out". I bet so many people are walking around taking medication for things that could be solved with a good stretch and crack of the spine. Amazing! read more

I'm a huge fan of Sam Corbin at Advantage Physical Therapy. He's really good at dry needling, and that technique is amazing for taking away aches and pains. They use hot and cold packs on you after the dry needling--it feels better than going to the spa. He will also teach you helpful exercises. Everyone in the office is so friendly. They take some insurance, you can also do self pay and you can use a health savings card if you have one. Parking is easy--there's a free garage nearby. read more

Advantage is absolutely wonderful! I see Sarah to rehab my knee after TKR plus two additional surgeries to repair a ruptured patellar tendon, then a cast for 3 months. Sarah is very supportive and encouraging.....even though she puts me through my paces (and sometimes it's not real comfortable), I'm making consistent progress and I credit Sarah with motivating me to keep working hard. Although I don't work with the other therapists at Advantage, they are all friendly, supportive of all of the clients and very well-trained in their field. My daughter was born with congenital deformities of her lower legs & feet resulting in 2 bilateral Achilles tendon releases as an infant and subsequent casting. As a result, she has mobility issues, and can't run, jump or easily climb stairs. She began seeing Sarah, and we are extremely happy with the treatment received. Sarah did a wonderful job of listening to her needs and came up with a plan that was realistic and doable for a busy adolescent. She is always encouraging and knows how to motivate people to do their best, especially adolescents. That's not an easy thing to do! read more

Mike Reing and team are an absolutely pleasure. Mike is working with my son after his total knee replacement. My son actually looks forward to PT and to work with Mike... that is because Mike knows how to work with Kids, how to get them to visualize progress and make them confident to do things they never thought they could do. I have seen progress after each session.... well worth a trip even if you have to travel to get to their facility. I have had many PT sessions here with Jon for hip and shoulder pain (dance and swim injuries). He was referred to me by my friend who is a competitive martial artist. I have been a patient at several different physical therapy practices in the DC area. I received helpful treatment by nice professionals at every one. Advantage Physical Therapy is the only one I would go out of the way to refer someone to, because they stand out from the pack in the following ways: 1) Have a traction machine onsite. This is specific to my injury, but it was hard to find a PT practice that had the apparatus, instead of just offering manual traction. This has really helped me. 2) Owned by physical therapists. I want to support businesses that treat their employees well, for many reasons, including that it results in a better customer experience for me. At Advantage Physical Therapy, they support the work-life balance of their staff, which results in *dramatically* less staff turnover than at other clinics. Not that anyone wants to be a repeat customer or long-term patient, but if you have a chronic condition (or athletic kids), you can be certain of seeing familiar faces when you walk in the door, instead of a rotating cast of therapists like at other clinics. 3) Convenient location with free parking. In an urban area, parking fees can be almost the same as the co-pay for your visit. The location right on 50 means it only takes 30 mins from downtown (sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on traffic), and there's no charge to park right next to the door. I came to Advantage Physical Therapy with a stress fracture in my knee that was not healing. Working with Sam Corbin, I was able to get noticeable improvements in my knee quickly and have now recovered. Sam is very good at assessing how to fix the problems caused by my injury without pushing me to do too much too soon. He is very knowledgeable about the exercises needed to address the problems of people recovering from injuries. He is also personable. This last quality is crucial to help people who are in pain from their injuries. He paces my sessions well. The staff is very efficient in handling patients; I've never had to wait any significant time for my appointment. This review is specifically for Jenna as she is the only therapist I've worked with at Advantage. I saw Jenna after the birth of my daughter to work on strengthening my pelvic floor and fixing my abdominal separation. As an avid runner it was really important to me to make sure I was doing the right postpartum exercises and avoiding the wrong ones. Jenna was not only extremely knowledgeable about female anatomy and postpartum issues but also incredibly kind and encouraging at a time when there was a lot going on for me as a new Mom. Jenna really listens to what you are saying, is thoughtful in her approach, and tries to limit your PT "homework" to exercises that are really going to be beneficial and not just to go through the motions. Jenna even followed up with me months later just to check on my progress once I'd stopped making PT appointments. I'd highly recommend her and will definitely be back to see her. read more
