If you are looking for delicious and authentic barbecue on the north east side of Indy this is your place! It is truly a hole-in- the- wall on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and it's hard to find. Use your preferred map app or GPS. We usually take it to go but they do have dining space. Check the hours as they are limited, usually Thursday through Sunday. You need to call as I don't think they have a social media presence or a website. My absolute favorite is the chicken with sauce on the side. Friends love the rib tips but try what sounds best to you. The sides are not my favorite as I adore collard greens but there's are sweet and hot. I have lived in the area for 57 years now and just recently tried their food and I was blown away! I ordered for delivery, a small rib tips and fries for my first order. (I have eaten there several times now) When I opened the container, my first thought was I had gotten someone else's order because I was looking at the largest "small" order of anything I have ever seen. It was obvious why the container wasn't staying closed very well. The fries were your basic frozen, crinkle cut fries but they were perfectly cooked. Hot, crispy, and plentiful! I am almost at a loss for words to describe the rib tips. Meaty, saucy, umtumptuous pillows of melt in your mouth nuggets of meat... I'm drooling just thinking about them right now! There was so much food to eat, I had to stop, put the ledt overs in the fridge, and have more the next day. The next time I went to the store to order in person the next weekend and was met by the nicest people around. Customer service is off the chain. The building is small and they have a small section of seating but I would say the majority of their business is take out and delivery. Everything on the menu looks outstanding. The prices are fair. Ordered 2x 2 meat dinners. One with pulled chicken and pork with spicy bbq sauce and one 2X meat rib tips and brisket. Killer! The spicy macn cheese good but I'd like mine spicier. But great! My husband happened to stop in on a day the business was closed, but an employee gave him a tour & a taste. The employee went SO above & beyond, I cannot express enough appreciation for his customer service. The following weekend my husband went back for a full slab of ribs: best BBQ sauce on the planet. It was okay, nothing outstanding. I would recommend the pulled pork and spare ribs with a side of greens. The brisket was very dry and shredded instead of sliced. The spicy barbecue had a good flavor. The normal barbecue is slightly sweet. The greens weren't too salty and had a bit of spice to them. The macaroni was a little bland. This was a great find, and the best bbq I've had in the state so far. We originally thought to order our food to go, but the seating area was nice and clean with 4 tables and plenty of chairs. My girlfriend ordered the brisket sandwich and the spicy mac. The sandwich was generously piled high with smoked meat, and drenched in sauce. She really enjoyed the huge sandwich, stating that it was tender and she could taste the smoke. The spicy Mac unfortunately was not too good. The sauce was so thin that the noodles just wouldn't hold any of it. I ordered the 2 keat meal for 13.99 fib tips and beef brisket, with baked beans and corn dressing. The rib tips and brisket were tender and full of smokey flavor, and the bbq sauce was slightly sweet, salty, and a little spicy. The beans were sweet and were a good contrast to the bbq sauce on the meats. The corn bread dressing was nothing extraordinary, but I recommend you try it if you had not had this style before. These are the worst side orders I have ever tasted. They taste like they came out of a grocery store. (Coleslaw and potato salad) Peach cobbler was mushy and no crispiness on top and the peaches were just mush. My meat was smothered in BBQ sauce way too much! And I even ordered my sauce on the side and still everything was smothered in sauce.I will never go back here again! I really hate even giving them one star, except the meat would have been passable if it was sliced instead of broken up and covered in sauce and the chicken was smothered too! read more

We bought a restaurant.com certificate. Drive 25 miles to find a restaurant in a challenged neighborhood that would not honor the certificate. Drove past this place everyday when in town for training. Looks the part of a good, rundown smock shack and has all of the smells that would bring you through the door. Had a two meat lunch. Both meats were just mixed up in a styrofoam container and smothered in a bbq sauce that was so sweet it made my teeth hurt, tasted kind of like General Tso's sauce. The meat was nice and tender but that sauce...wow, may be a local thing. Pretty pricey for my liking, but I make an effort to try every BBQ place I pass by.
