We took a tour here over the Christmas holiday and had such a great time! Can you start off in the gift shop where they gave us a sample of iron city on draft while we browsed around the store. When it was time to start, they walked us back through the barrel room all the way to where they make the beer. They have TVs displaying the production so if you were there on an off day, you can still see how it is made. At the end, we had a sample of every beer that they have on draft, which was really fun since I wouldn't ever try some of those on my own, but enjoyed them. Would definitely recommend! read more

I have been to the relatively new Pittsburgh Brewing location in Creighton a few times now, and have enjoyed each visit. Since they primarily are only open for events, I have been during two different ones. The Taproom area is very spacious, and provides a look into some of the equipment and processes that the brewery has for producing their products. They serve beer, of course, as well as selections from their distillery portion of the business. It is fun to see their selection at this location, as sometimes they will be serving beers that have not yet hit stores or the general market yet. For example, at the recent Regatta event, they were serving the Blockhouse Blueberry Wheat before it was available to the masses. And boy it was divine! They have a gift shop on the premise, but it is not exactly connected to the main Taproom. It is open to the public throughout the week, even when the Taproom is not. The prices are fair, and they have a wide selection to choose from. There is also a specific part of the gift shop for their distillery. Something unique is that even if the Taproom is not open, they have a few beers on tap to try right in the gift shop! There was also a sale section with a lot of items, including mystery bags. On my most recent trip, I got to see an event held on the lawn between the buildings and the river. It is giant, and had a lot of food and other vendors to visit. It is an awesome space, equipped with a ton of free parking. It is cool that they are starting to have more events, concerts, and festivals to utilize that space when the weather permits. Overall, this is a nice spot to highlight a Pittsburgh staple brand. I look forward to their continued expansion, and hopefully more access to the space beyond events. I know they also provide tours for a price, and I would like to take part in that in the future as well. read more

Steve and I recently had a beer from Pittsburgh Brewing Company and it was a positive experience! We had the Old German which is an American style lager. The flavor profile with this lager is sweet, clean, perhaps a hint of apple. The body of the beer is light and smooth. It would be a perfect beer to have with bratwurst or a hamburger and I think that is the gist towards that anyway. Glad to continue to keep trying out breweries I haven't had before despite many of them closing at a rapid rate this day and age. read more

Need to adjust the logistics of the food, drink and bathrooms in the field. But I would attend another event there. Parking is crap in the largest lot. Would be nice to have shuttles. After a long day in the sun the walk is killer. There should have been additional access with those that had vip access. Worthless paying the extra money for 3-4 hours of paying $8-12 a drink. We went on the PBCo (Iron City Beer/Pittsburgh Brewing Co) tour and it was great! Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. So much history, the samples were great too. I didn't know they made liquor also! Got a 5th of Gin, can't wait to try. They do whiskeys as well! fun tour, worth the time and money. I absolutely adore Pittsburgh Brewing! I have been here 2 times now- the beer tour/brewery tour, and the distillery tour. Both were awesome!! I learned so much. My fiancé and I are Iron City and IC Light fanatics so it was so fun to go and check out the process of how our favorite beer is made. We also loved the Distillery tour! I learned so much about whiskey and I'm not even a big whiskey drinker. The employees are extremely kind and knowledgeable, they are so in depth with the tours. Definitely a super cool experience and worth checking out Pittsburgh Brewing if you have the chance! read more

Went to the Steeler-Ireland game and got there about 7:15, it opened at 7 and could not find enough seats for our party. Went to find the manager, she was rude and told us we could go to another part of the place and watch a small TV, and that there were seats there????????? We paid to watch the big screen! I guess we expected just a little bit of customer service-we guessed wrong. She did get us additional chairs for our small table after I had to ask her to do it. The other workers were great, beer and drinks were good. read more

As a concert venue I do not recommend. The traffic in was so bad we did not make the concert. The infrastructure of the roads is not set up to have a concert venue. Love the brewery and the atmosphere outside of that - just don't buy ticket to a concert it's not worth the hassle. read more

If you are going to a concert - save your money!!! This is the messiest, unorganized disgrace of a venue! They put a beer tent at the entrance - which made for tons of pushing and shoving. The stage was at the long end of the field making more of ass to elbow feel. There were craters that were so deep and filled with filthy water that where past your ankles - and they through straw over them that made it even worse! I think the absolute worst thing is that the staff has no knowledge of how things work! I had a parking pass (unbeknownst to me because the tix were gifts). I was told because I have general admission tickets I had to pay for parking - which I did $20. At the gate - when they scanned my tickets - they told me oh - this is your parking pass. I asked them how to get a refund - they told me to email the venue. I did - and they refuse to refund the pass - even with proof of purchase! You would think that a venue would want their patrons to be happy and due to a lack of knowledge or communication with their staff they would refund the 2nd parking fee. read more

Pittsburgh Brewing needs to work on logistics for events/concerts. I understand they do not want tailgating, but opening the parking lot later in the day means everyone has to arrive around the same time. It took us 25 minutes on Route 28 and then nearly 1 hour to drive the last 8/10ths of a mile. I could see traffic behind us backed up for miles. We arrived at the venue while the 1st band was already playing (The Spin Doctors). My guess is some folks didn't make it to see the first 2 bands-or make it at all. When we arrived, the venue was already a muddy mess. (then it rained again before the Gin Blossoms played-the 2nd band.) There were a few very feeble attempts at laying some straw down-but alot of folks are going to be buying new shoes this week. It was particularly muddy all around the port-a-johns. A little prep work could have made the venue less like a swamp. The venue itself is long and narrow. So unless you are up front-you aren't really seeing anything. That was a little disappointing-based on the ticket cost ( 2 tickets = $165 for General Admission and a parking pass) Then it was a very long wait to get out of the parking lot to get home. We enjoyed the music, but agreed, they have alot of work to do before we would ever consider going back. read more

Went to Pittsburgh Brewing to watch the Penguins first game. Absolutely a great place to watch the game. Numerous tables, nicely spaced, pool table and even a regulation shuffleboard table. Beers were Pittsburgh Brewing labels and the drinks are made with booze from their distillery, All very tasty. Will be going back. read more

Review of IC Brewing as an event venue, understanding the Cole Swindell concert was their first big event: Parking: A+ for coming in, D for getting out. There were a bunch of people whom decided they needed to create a line of their own getting out which messed everyone up. It also didn't appear that they had control of the traffic light which would have helped tremendously. Even though it was 10:30 on a holiday weekend, there was a fair amount of other traffic that needed to be controlled. They contracted with a Valet company that did an amazing job once they got the problem sorted out. It just took a while because people only care about themselves. That, and a long, slow train came through that was super long just as we were close to getting out. Just bad luck. Food: A+ I didn't personally get any but it seemed as though there was adequate vendors. Lines didn't seem too long and everyone kept talking about how good the food was. The only suggestion I'd have here is to encourage the vendors to keep prices lower. Beer/Drinks - A+ for pricing. $5 beers at an event is unheard of anymore (which is actually sad!). I really hope they keep the pricing competitive and don't jack up prices just because it's an event. People complaining about the options seem to forget that they were at a facility that brews beer and distills alcohol. Did you really expect them to sell competitors items? C- for the amount of bars. I think they could add a couple of more and still have had long lines at each. They were also having wifi issues at the ones farthest from the building. perhaps an extender for these events? Bathrooms: A+ TONS of port-a pottys, lines were short AND they had people cleaning them mid-concert. Like what?! Absolutely amazing. Security: B+. Lots of armed security so we definitely felt safe. They were walking the event too. However, they need more scanners so the lines go faster getting in. Also, they allowed chairs to be brought in and only did a quick glance at them which surprised me since they are a good hiding spot... Trash Cans: C - just needed more scattered throughout. Especially where people were sitting. They also could have doubled as helping to create isles which would have been nice to have. Event: I absolutely love this facility. The sound was great, view was awesome. They had fireworks and a band playing at the end of the night at a different stage to help keep people there and not rush out to the cars. It seemed they thought of a lot. People need to give them time to figure it out. I also loved that they encouraged boats to join. I figure if they get the dock situation figured out, it's going to be such a hit. If I were an artist, I'd be so excited to play here in the summer. read more

Do not attend concerts at this venue. Parking is a nightmare, entering and exiting an even bigger nightmare. Very poorly run venue none of the attendants have a clue what they are doing. The grounds are just a grass field and it rained and it was just a giant mud hole. All of the shows are rain or shine with no refunds, no umbrellas and no where to get out of the storm. The field is very large it spans the entire backside of the brewery and if you are not able to get way up near the stage you cannot see anything because the stage is so far away and the tiny screens are only wide enough to show one member of the band at a time. The sound system is horrible my car radio is louder (an exaggeration but not by much). I could clearly hear peoples conversations over the music, that were sitting 3 or 4 rows behind and they were just talking. This place has the potential to be a nice venue however the traffic in and out does not appear to have any solutions because there is only 1 way in at this time. There would have to be major changes before I would waste my money on attending another show at this location. read more

I was there Sunday December 15, 2024 for the Steelers game. Let first just say it is an AWESOME place to watch the game. That being said there needs to be a 21 year age requirement to come in on game day. Too too many very young children in bar area. I could not enjoy game and I left at halftime. read more

Went to the Cole Swindell concert yesterday and had a good time. Performances were great. Also enjoyed the selection of food trucks. Several big problems with this venue though. First, not nearly enough bars were set up. We waited nearly 40 minutes to get drinks. They only offered mixed drinks and beer. No option for drinks in cans such as White Claw. Needed smaller carts with cans available with such a large crowd. Also garbage cans were overflowing as no one was emptying them. The biggest problem was at the end when they couldn't get cars out of the lot. We were towards the front and waited 1 1/2 hours to get out. Didn't move at all for 40 minutes. Horrible job on parking! Won't be going back for an event until they figure out parking. read more

Cole Swindell concert was great but that was it. Waited in a long line to get in at 4 pm as they stopped the line due to sound checks. Security was laxed as they didn't check purses or chairs at all, beer lines were 45 minutes long, no lights in back parking lot when you left to find your car even though they were there, and leaving traffic was backed up for almost two hours, The back exit they promised didn't open for way beyond an hour plus after the concert. Been to starlake many times plus many other concerts and this was by far the worst. They have many logistic problems to solve beofre I'd recommend going there. All that for only 7,000 people. They are not equipped to handle large crowds. read more
