Kindergarten countdown activity out together by library!

I LOVE bringing my boys here! Being that I homeschool, I find time to bring them atleast once a week. I really love that they have a little play center which they organize like: post office, veterinary, grocery, doctor, etc along with things to use imaginative play! They have many different interactive toys, computers for children to learn while "playing" & I enjoy the events they hold for children. I also enjoy when they make take-home activities, not only are the fun but I've never heard of them & they are educational as well!

I love this place. First off it's off to the side and there's no traffic by the library. Plenty of parking. They have a bench in front if you want to read outside. Place to return your books if they are closed. There is a space when you first walk in that gives a lot of information about events going on. I really love that because it keeps you informed. The librarian was very helpful in explaining all the rules. I reserved a book they send in from another library and it ended up saving me a lot of money. They have a kids section and teenager section. I like that they have a copy machine. They also have a section for books for sale. They do events for kids and fun games. They have story time. There are some hours where they help kids with homework. They have computers I like that kids can check them out. I was really impressed and it encouraged my son to read more.

Pittsburg library has so many programs for everyone to enjoy, especially if you have kids. They have an amazing program schedule month after month and even offer programs for adults for legal services or school kids with homework assistance. One of the best libraries I've ever been to.

the only library you can go to where u can BARELY reserve a computer to use because of the gamers who ask for more on the pc

Great little library in easy access to Hwy 4 and BART. I wish the hours were better with more than one late night, but it's still great.

I need a library card. Do I need to come in to get one?

Unfortunately due to the pandemic, there is no coming in to the library to get a library card at this time. You can apply for a library card online though and have access to our online databases and ebooks. Here is a link with information for you:… Read more

Lots of outlets available as well in case you need to plug your laptop in somewhere. Other highlights: -Small bookstore with items at super reasonable prices (proceeds go back to the library) -Maker space -Events for teens/kids + author talks and cultural performances -Group study rooms (4) -"Cafe"-type space where foods/drinks are allowed The books available are well-curated and if there's anything you want that they don't have, you can typically get it through their interlibrary loan program + pick it up in the "holds" section. I've only ever come here on Saturdays + on one weekday evening for an author talk, so it's been relatively quiet/I can't speak to the noise level otherwise. I'm so glad this place exists! :]

While I wasn't able to look around the entire library, it was very clean and welcoming. The staff was okay, but I did not have much interaction with them as I was focused on our baby. The parking lot is a bit small for the events they hold, so it's possible you'll need to park down the end of the adjacent park if you get there a little late. But all in all, it was a lovely visit. We do plan to go back again, I'd like to personally go when there are no events to see how quiet would be for studying.

This review is for the EKG Technician Continuing Education course, Fall 2025, Concord Campus…read more The EKG Technician course is supposed to be an 11.5-week, 60-hour in-person program with instruction and hands-on lab experience, but the reality has been far from what was advertised, and instead a huge disappointment and waste of time. The start of class was delayed a week with no reason and no proactive communication about logistics - I had to reach out the first day of instruction just to find out which classroom to go to and who the instructor would be. Since then, multiple class sessions were canceled or ended early, and we had only about five hours of actual classroom time instead of the nearly 28 hours we should have had by the end of week 4 (minus four canceled classes). The content itself was very disappointing - mostly reading slides (which were a recap of the textbook) and watching YouTube videos with very limited access to equipment or lab practice (which seemed to be an administrative issue). There was no effort to make up missed time, and it's hard to see how students would reach the advertised 60 hours of instruction, let alone pass the course or pass state certification. The instructor appeared to have good intentions, but it seems this last-minute staffing decision left everyone unprepared, including the instructor themself. Attempts to contact Continuing Education for help went unanswered, which is incredibly frustrating for those of us who paid full fees (over $1,600) and commute long distances to attend. To make matters worse, the Concord campus at that time had poor (no) lighting on the walkway from the parking lot, which is definitely a safety concern for evening classes. Overall, this experience has been unprofessional and discouraging. CSU East Bay Continuing Education really needs to address the lack of communication, instructional quality, equipment availability, and basic campus safety before continuing to offer it. BTW, check your local community college instead if similar courses are offered, it will be A LOT cheaper ($46/unit for Cali residents)!

I came by here to get some books for school because it would save me a trip to the Hayward campus…read more Unfortunately, this place is out in the weeds too. It's next to a state park or in the middle of it. So, I came here because I thought it was closer. When I was in grad school before, there was a campus in Walnut Creek. It was in the middle of downtown and was quite easily accessible. But this place isn't. And if there is traffic (and there was) look out! I am glad that I don't have to come here regularly because I'd have to get out of work a good two hours before class to get there on time and then drive all of the way home after class. They aren't open on Friday or Saturdays. But I was able to pick up my books. I was going to look for some school swag but they didn't really have any. In the future, I will have my books sent to me to avoid having to come all of the way out here to pick up two books.
