Their idea of training is to do 1 shift with the employee then turn them loose to work Thursday - Sunday (because the "seasoned" employees don't want to work there on weekends). They have to do the complete close ALONE after one night of training. I also think that it's really sad that the Pit Stop (also in Ontario, but on Route 104) doesn't accept debit cards. I don't know if it's too hard to "train" their employees to work with a debit card which is the same as cash or if the owner of all the stores is too ignorant to know that debit/cash same thing. I know because of these two reasons I will NEVER shop there again, I don't care how cheap their gas is only on Sunday though. I have a feeling they must be making a killing on the debit machine since that's the only way you can use a debit card. In this day and age this place needs to get with the program. Most people I know use a debit card and to have to go use an ATM to use your debit card is just really sad in this day and age. I think that is why there are never any lines to get gas. Yes, a friend of mine was one of their employees and was "let go" because no one trained her. I can speak on how someone should be trained because I was the assistant manager of A Plus in Fairport. I was responsible for hiring and training and I would train for 7 days and NEVER turn them loose on a weekend with only 1 day of training. This owner needs to realize what goes on at BOTH stores. Like I said I will NEVER shop there again and this review is exactly what I have told many people. What I find funny though is that a lot of them don't get gas at the 104 store because they don't honor debit cards. The new Tops store might be smaller and doesn't sell draft beer that you can have put in a bottle yourself BUT they do take debit and credit and they do it right at the pump. That's a concept that they say saves money but from what I have seen the only time you save any money is on Sunday!

Dont get me wrong I understand it may cost them. But come on. .50 cents plus state tax AND the tax they charge 55cents. For a 99cents a black and mild Jazz at the store is $1.55? I'm sorry, there is no way that's legal. Anything bought under $5 on debit has a 55cent tax. I use debit and credit cards everywhere and I've NEVER been charged so much. I've seen them charge customers different prices higher prices than what's posted. Most of the items dont have pricing on the so they can charge you 100-400% more. Unfortunately this is the closest local store that I can go to since I dont drive, yet, but weather permitted I will ride my bike to a further store. They have a lot of unhappy customers which is probably why one of their window was smashed out .....I DO NOT CONDONE VIOLENCE OR DAMAGING SOMEONE PROPERTY AT ALL, but I guess karma is a bitch after all.
