Since then, as many gas stations have, its been converted to a store. This store is like so many others here in the city. It sells basic needs. Beer, milk, soda, bread, toiletries, cigarettes, and of course lottery and gas. The stores hours are from 6 to 10 Monday through Saturday, and Sunday 7 to 10. The owner and employees are from India. Prices are very competitive and the selection is much greater than some of the other nearby liquor stores. They had a wide range of each varietal with prices ranging from the lowest (5.99) to fairly high quality stuff. The beauty is in the one stop shop nature. The market has a lot of goodies that you can grab as you fill up, and the easy in and out on a busy intersection makes this next level convenience. The store has a cooler with cold prosecco and white options if you're looking to grab something en route to a party or gathering. I will absolutely be back!

They have the bad kind of water and very little space for maneuvring, or learing how to spell maneuvring. It's great that a tiny town like Holley, though, has a store like this. Chain info: I come to Dol Gen every Saturday to get 5 dollars off 25 (or sometimes off 30), which allows me to stock up on water from Tennessee (which tastes much better than tap water or any other brand of water, to me), and to stock up on tons of cat food for my kids, too. However, some stores (such as this one) sell the wrong kind of water (from Pennsylvania instead), which tastes awful. I go to different Dollar Generals just to mix it up, and so I can put more of them on the Yelp review map, and because it's always useful to know which ones have the good waters vs the bad.

Its not like a mass wholesaler with tons of products and choices, nor is it fancy with millions of different cheeses and international spices etc. But it gets the job done when you just need to run in quick after work for a few supplies. Things worth noting: Their cold cuts are pretty inexpensive. Also, I prefer their meat selection to that of any Wegmans. I cannot stand those gold foil packs that Wegmans uses. I wanna see red meat and I want to be able to poke it and see if its tender etc. You cant really do that with those gold foil packages. I also prefer their freshly baked pie selection. They have like 6 or so different flavors for way less than Wegmans. (Prices ranging from $4-6, while Wegmans pies go for about $6-12) The Strawberry Rhubarb is my all time fav and you can pre-order it the night before to guarantee you'll get your hands on one!!!! Lastly, my husband is in love with their seafood salad. You can find it at the deli and by the seafood section. Put some on crackers or on a croissant. Yum! Overall, stop in if you are trying to get away from crowds and the hustle and bustle that is at every other grocery store and super center.

But that's changed (or maybe I just misunderstood!), and now anyone can shop here. Prices are a bit higher about $2-$5 more than other grocery stores depending on what you're getting, also know you're supporting a community focused, local business. It's not a huge place, but they've got a solid selection of essentials, and some nice specialty items too. There's even an outdoor area if you want to relax with a snack or a drink. Staff is pleasant, friendly and helpful. They have private parking lot! I'll definitely be back.
