Bananas and Blow cocktail and a Lavender Lemonade as a cocktail with vodka
    Diane R.

We decided on sharing an Appy and having some cocktails, nothing on the dinner menu really called out to me except the mussels (hence the 4 star). That being said, the mussels and the cocktails were delicious!! The presentation of the cocktails was top notch, seeing my husband's cocktail made me want to order one of their menu drinks because I just loved how his looked and wanted to see if the presentation was carried on through the cocktail menu, I was not disappointed. Service was very friendly, I feel like we were a pretty low maintenance table, the choice between still and sparkling water was a nice touch. The patio looked very inviting but I was happy to be seated inside where there was air conditioning, it's got a nice rustic feel, kind of farmhouse vibe that I really enjoyed

Poutine with sautéed mushrooms. So, so good. Roast chicken gravy.

Shut. Up. Everything is delicious. The drinks, the appetizers, the meals, it's amazing. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and on the ball. The poutine (we were taught "p'tine" is the correct pronunciation) was INSANE! Finally a poutine with chicken gravy and not beef. It was incredible. I added sautéed mushrooms - I'm not sure it could've been any better. My friend had breakfast poutine and finished every bite. The people of Pitchfork clearly put thought and craftsmanship into every sip and every bite. When I head back to Nelson, I'm heading STRAIGHT to Pitchfork!

The ambiance and service is amazing! The bartender made phenomenal custom cocktails. We were happy with the sea bass, just felt it was lacking a little something. Overall, a great experience, we will definitely be back.

The breakfast poutine with a little bacon, chicken gravy, and a perfectly cooked egg with just a spoonful of hollandaise.

Best lunch in a long while. 72 degrees on the deck, fabulous view of the water in the distance, great service.

We had an absolutely amazing time dining here at Pitchfork Eatery. The atmosphere was so nice and the service was amazing. Our server Chloe was great, she was super helpful. The chicken was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back next time we're in Nelson.

The patio attracted me to the restaurant when we were looking for a late family dinner. I will say that this is a great place for cool people to go on a splurge-y date. I love the historic building and the cozy patio with awesome view. I never went inside. We asked if they had a kids menu and were told they have a kid's item: little burger. This item was not listed on the menu. It was typical kid's menu item size, but turned out to be $20 in price. I didn't love that. The wine was good, but not astounding. The food also. I was pretty excited about ordering the sea bass to share, but sadly, I was hungry after the meal. It was tasty, but I would have liked it to be deboned. The fish came with broccoli (2 pieces), roasted cherry tomato (3 - 4 tomatoes), wild rice (decent portion), nori butter (loved it on the fish) , fresh herbs (whole stems - wasn't sure what to do with them), and lemon. I am a vegetable lover and would loved to have had more veg on the plate - a great opportunity for this restaurant to feature local produce in summer! Lava cake was good with exciting marshmallow top and amazing almond crumb (like brittle). Green tea crème brulée was okay, but I prefer traditional. Tasty shortbread with excellent texture. A few suggestions for the restaurant: no more folded laminated QR codes on the table - a nice restaurant has printed menus. They had a food menu available, but not the wine list. Full disclosure: an iPad was offered to remedy this, but it felt troublesome. So the price of the wine was a little surprising. As well, it would be nice to have the menu posted at the doors. People like to peruse before deciding to come in. Not a great choice for tired family looking for a late supper.

Pitchfork is a must eat at location if you're in Nelson BC! The food was absolutely Amazing and the service was friendly. Thank you Ollie and Allie for the amazing service you both rock your jobs! I ate brunch here with three friends and we all ordered different things and everyone was more than pleased with their food and agreed we'll be back to eat here for sure! We also really enjoyed the atmosphere. Pitchfork is really neat in decor and comfortable to sit back enjoy good food and the company you came with. Definitely want to make a summer trip up to chill on that patio!

Great food. Almost too salty, but awesome otherwise. Came in with group of 10, so the seating had to be max 4 people. Good vibes.

Ragout and I added duck to it
    Aubrey M.

Wow.. that is some of the best duck I have ever had. We came here on a quick get away and stopped in here for our first night dinner. I got the ragout and added a duck to it.... the combo of the duck which was so tender and the flavors of the veggies were amazing! My husband got the venison which was also melt in your mouth tender with flavorful lentils. I highly recommend this place!

The Library Lounge has a very old English Gentlemen Club look and feel with bookshelves on the walls ( hence Library ). I say amazing customer service is that the restaurant staffs are very accommodating and also courteous, while we were waiting for our table, ( they had a very very busy Wednesday night ), even the Bar Tender came to chat with just keep us happy. We ordered: To start : Beef Barley Soup / Borscht both were done well but it took about 45 mins. before our soup appeared, our server did communicate to the kitchen but still our soups were not ready until later! I do not blame the server at all, but I saw a few tables before us got their soups or salads and they all came after us. Oh well, sometimes the kitchen staffs are hard to deal with. Steak & Prawns - Cooked to perfection, the meat is slightly on the lean side for my taste, but still very flavourful. Seafood Pasta - Tomato based sauce filled with Halibut, Salmon, Mussels etc. Creamy and full of fresh tomatoes, the pasta can be a tad more al dente and will be perfect! Nice ambience, with live music, this is a great spot to come enjoy a relaxing evening with good food and wine, and of course the very friendly staffs and even fellow dinners!!

There was outdoor seating that was wonderful for this hot evening, but there is a bit of a wait to get that seating. It is an umbrella covered seating area with a candle on the table, giving a romantic or cozy feeling. The service was nice but busy as expected. The server had a nice approach, but I felt like I was being sold items that the server first said she did t care for, but as I selected the item, she then said it was a great choice and that she liked it. I'm never really interested in the likes or dislikes of the server, but their description of dishes and answers to questions about ingredients or items on a dish on invaluable. I had the spicy fried chicken sandwich with a salad. The chicken breast was perfectly prepared with a nice crunch. It was served on a brioche bun. I had sharp cheddar cheese with the usual burger toppings. I am now appreciating that spicy, according to the palates of European - associated community, is not the same as it would be in some Latin, Thai, or Black/African communities. I love moderate to high heat and spice. What is considered "very spicy and hot", to my palate, was mild and tasty. That being said, it was a tasty burger and the salad was fine. We did not order dessert given how busy it was and we were tired from a long day. I would recommend this place to eat as a bit of an upscale bar food place. I would recommend that the chefs learn how to adjust the heat and spice for those of us believing the menu when it says hot and spicy*** as server for increased heat and spice.

Marzano clearly puts intention behind what they do, drawing inspiration from traditional Neapolitan techniques and a focus on high-quality, simple ingredients, and that care shows up on the menu. From an accessibility standpoint, this was one of the easier Italian meals I've had while eating GF. Gluten-free options were clearly labeled, including modification notes, which made ordering straightforward. Nearly all pizzas and pastas could be made gluten free, aside from specialty pastas like the gnocchi and lasagna. They also had a gluten-free focaccia available as an appetizer, which had an excellent texture. The appetizers were a standout. We shared the gnocchi and burrata and both were delicious. Pizza got great feedback from the table overall, though a couple slices were slightly undercooked in the center and flopped when picked up. I ordered the sirloin, which was okay, though not my favorite part of the meal. Service was excellent. Our server was attentive and thoughtful, offering a soup sample to our 90-year-old guest who was unsure about the daily option, and kindly helped wrangle us for a group photo during a busy dinner hour, which I really appreciated. The interior is gorgeous--modern, warm, and very well maintained. Even though Marzano opened in 2018, it feels much newer. I debated between a 4 and 5 star review due to my entrée and the pizza texture, but the intention is clearly there, and the overall experience was strong. I'd absolutely come back and would love to try more of the menu next time.
