The food was an exquisite showcase of why Canadian butter is so much richer and creamier than US butter. The Slam Dunk and accompanying mac and cheese had rich, gooey and creamy cheese. The chicken and waffles were fried perfectly with a crispy outside and moist, tender chicken inside. The waffles had a hint of vanilla and were lightly crispy in the outside and steamy doughy goodness on the inside. The server Lisa was friendly and attentive. The bathrooms were downstairs and clean. For my first culinary adventure in Canada, it was a hit!

What a great little spot! We enjoyed happy hour, a couple beers and split the carpaccio. We sat on the patio and people watched. The carpaccio was fantastic, some of the best I've had!

We had a great time checking out Broken Hill for brunch. The food is so good, I had the brisket Mac and cheese and it was unreal. The drinks were fantastic too, the espresso martini was delicious. Our server was so friendly and fast. Definitely would recommend this absolute gem in Nelson.

Terrible service. Extremely rude staff. I would not send my worst enemy here. Long wait and we were treated horribly.

Shitty service - dishes were dirty and hair in food. Refused to refund or bring new food.

The brisket sandwich was the most moist bbq I've ever had, with the perfect blend of sauce, slaw, and a fluffy bun.

The Library Lounge has a very old English Gentlemen Club look and feel with bookshelves on the walls ( hence Library ). I say amazing customer service is that the restaurant staffs are very accommodating and also courteous, while we were waiting for our table, ( they had a very very busy Wednesday night ), even the Bar Tender came to chat with just keep us happy. We ordered: To start : Beef Barley Soup / Borscht both were done well but it took about 45 mins. before our soup appeared, our server did communicate to the kitchen but still our soups were not ready until later! I do not blame the server at all, but I saw a few tables before us got their soups or salads and they all came after us. Oh well, sometimes the kitchen staffs are hard to deal with. Steak & Prawns - Cooked to perfection, the meat is slightly on the lean side for my taste, but still very flavourful. Seafood Pasta - Tomato based sauce filled with Halibut, Salmon, Mussels etc. Creamy and full of fresh tomatoes, the pasta can be a tad more al dente and will be perfect! Nice ambience, with live music, this is a great spot to come enjoy a relaxing evening with good food and wine, and of course the very friendly staffs and even fellow dinners!!

The restaurant tables are spaced apart for covid social distancing. Very friendly and help staff made recommendations to what is good on the menu. Like everything! LOL Ordered the following: - 2 Smokey Paprika Salmon with choice of soup or salad at $29.00 each - 1 Grilled Salmon Salad $17.00 - 1 Veal cutlets $25.00 Of course with white wine that was suggested by our waitress can't remember the name, was so good. Ordered Dessert: -Pie special: Blueberry A la mode $10.00 -White Chocolate Cheese Cake $8.00 Desserts are all made in house we were told by our wonderful waitress This stop was well worth it for the food and the history of the building
