Made a Pitstop on the way home and ended up here. Let me tell you. This has been one of the better burgers I've had in a while. No lie. The Teriyaki burger with cheese was pure deliciousness. The chargrilled beef with lettuce and melted cheese on a toasted sesame bun. Paired it not only with fries but onion rings too. Dont judge. Washed it down with a coke with extra carbonation. The Mister enjoyed his double cheeseburger with extra cheese and a Orange Bang. Everything was off the hook. Located in Gardena. Prices were great. We spent about $23.00 for everything. Right now it is take out only. So you can eat in the car or take it home. read more

Got the Teriyaki Burger and it was tasted good. The meat was well cooked with plenty of flavor, but a bit tough on the chewy side. Just be careful of the teriyaki sauce, it is watery. Make sure you have plenty of napkins. Chili cheese fries was ok. It taste the same just like any other chili cheese fries. read more

Passed by the place many times, always intrigued, and finally stopped by! I enjoyed my meal a lot. Ordered the double Chicken Teriyaki plate. The chicken was delicious, and went well with the perfectly-portioned rice. The cabbage slaw seemed an unusual accompaniment but, once I tried it, liked that too. The half hamburger bun it came with was even tasty, especially dunked in the remaining sauce! My only gripe is their lack of credit card acceptance. I'm old-fashioned in some ways, and can appreciate places having old-fashioned policies, but credit card use is almost universal - and easier than dealing with cash for both business and customer. I'll most-definitely be back, but would be back more often if they started taking credit cards. read more

My daughter and I came here after a recommendation from a food blogger, we don't live in the area so we made the trip just to try it out. 1. Ambience or decor was nice you can tell it's been around for a while, has that old school feel. No place to sit down and cash only as others have already stated overall no big deal take your food and go. We ordered ahead of time so no long wait. Customer service was good. 2. Cost - we bought a double portion of the chicken and beef combo with extra toast, teriyaki burger and onion rings and extra sauce on the side. Our total was 27:49 which was pretty reasonable for what we ordered. I would like to add the portions didn't really look like a double more like a single 3. Food - let's start with the famous teriyaki burger. Overall it was mid I'd say 5 out of 10, the meat was pretty dry not much teriyaki sauce. It didn't blow us away but it was better than the combo plate. The combo plate was ok the extra sauce was definitely needed as there wasn't enough sauce. I'd give it a 4 out of 10. The onion rings were below average so much so I almost forgot to mention them. 4. Overall if I'm in the area I'd give the teriyaki burger another shot, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it. read more

This is the best neighborhood joint in LA. Their teriyaki is amazing. Cooked perfect over open flame. Meat is tender with the perfect amount of char and their teriyaki sauce is a perfect blend of salty-sweet. You can't go wrong ordering either the teriyaki beef or chicken (I usually get the combo) which comes with rice and a random pickle. You can also get a dinner play that comes with meat, rice and a salad. But my favorite it the teriyaki burger. It doesn't come with an actual hamburger patty, but a big piece of their teriyaki beef on a soft bun with teriyaki sauce, Mayo and lettuce. It's always so tender a delicious. read more

All I have to say is terrible terrible terrible meat is chewy and real fatty. I've been a long time Customer since I was a kid... i haven't been here for a long time. It has gone downhill. I don't know what all these other people are talking about. Maybe they like chewing bubblegum beef, but I don't. But the sauce is still good. I'm only gonna come here and buy the sauce and I'm gonna go buy teriyaki somewhere else and put your sauce on my beef bowl that has more tender and less fatty beef actually no fat on the beef, so you guys better get it together And start changing the quality of your beef and cook it longer and make it more tender and less fat, every bite was filled with fat and chewy beef. Driving down Normandie Avenue, you can smell the Teriyaki BBQ with your windows up. My family and friends have been enjoying this Terikyaki spot with me for years now and we are never disappointed. We always get their chili cheese fries along with their beef combination plate which comes with a small cabbage salad with their thousand island dressing, buttered bread and their sweet teriyaki beef over 2 scoops of hot rice. By far one of my favorite local Gardena hole in the walls. 100% recommend trying this spot! read more

Call and order ahead cause they seem to get busy. It's Cash only! The burger and chili fries were really good! The teriyaki plate was also very good. The buttered bread that comes with the plate is addicting, lol. I should have gotten teriyaki sauce on the side because I like my chicken with a little more sauce. Wow I feel like this was such a bad joke. How did it get so many good stars? We were in vacation in California. It was national cheese burger day so I decided to Yelp burgers, this place came up. When we first walked into the restaurant we felt uncomfortable because it is filthy and the tables are old video games consoles. There is one rubbish can and is full of graffiti, bad graffiti too. The amount of time we waited for the food was average and they only accept cash. The food itself was meh, definetely not a tourist vibe or something one wants to eat while on vacation. I had the teriyaky burger because people said it was the best, well nop while it was not horrible I would have rather keep the teriyaky off the bun. My daughter had a cheese burger plain, she said she did not like it because it was flat and burnt. My mom had a regular cheese burger she did not hate it but she did not like it. Overall it is a bad place and do not recommend it. read more

I was lucky enough to pass by Pitburger and think, hm, that place looks like it could have good food. There's nothing to say about the establishment beyond its food. I called ahead and asked for a single teriyaki beef burger, picked it up at the window. It was so juicy and the meat was flaky. Having missed Carls Jrs teriyaki burger, I came here expecting a replica but it was so much more than I could've imagined. The patty isn't ground beef, it's slices of beef, coated in a perfectly balanced teriyaki sauce (strong charcoal flavor, not too sweet or salty). And the bun is soft toasted brioche that compliments the sweetness of the teriyaki. The burger doesn't have much else on it but you really don't need a lot more since the meat and sauce are flavorful. There's a bit of mayo and I think it mixes so well with the teriyaki sauce. I miss this burger so much and I've only had it once. read more

I been going here for years best teriyaki chicken bowls you can find. The chicken teriyaki burger is really good as well. I try to eat here as often as I could the food is super fresh and they give you great portions. The one tip I can give you if you are picking up food order ahead they always have people waiting for food. Even when I order ahead sometimes I have to wait 2 mins for my food but it is worth it. read more

First the workers are non stop talking while making the food which I don't mind , we have to interact to work. But these guys are laughing , telling folk lores , and tall tales consistently talking and spitting all over my food. Second the fruit punch is putrid I can't even describe the horrible taste it had. Like one of the ingredients you guys use was bad. Either way this just tells me who ever makes it doesn't really care. Third the onion rings when I bit into it oil squirted out like not just a little but a full on squirt.

We should've known it'd be good when so much was sold out. We still got ribs, a pulled pork sandwich (homemade pickles!), potato salad, and smoked mac. We even went back for the peach cobbler. Everything was homemade, except for the bread for the sandwiches -- even the bbq sauce! They do a killer habanero bbq sauce. Follow them and go find them!!

I recently visited Pitburger and tried their combo bowl with a massive generous amount of chicken and beef, and it was nothing short of amazing. Char smoky taste is to die for! Served with perfectly cooked white rice, a slice of toasty, buttery bread, and a side of thinly shredded lettuce with a generous dollop of Thousand Island dressing, the meal was a delightful blend of flavors and textures. (I plate serves 2 to be quite honest) Having tried many teriyaki spots across Los Angeles, I can confidently say that Pitburger is the best. The chicken and beef were tender and flavorful, making every bite a pleasure. The friendly staff adds to the overall positive experience. It's worth noting that Pitburger is cash-only, so come prepared. I always order by phone to skip the wait, which is very convenient. The Teryaki is great. I don't have any tolerance for any restaurant that has never had a restroom for their patrons. There is no other public restroom for a great distance and what are patrons supposed to do when they have an emergency. There is no way for patrons to wash their hands before they eat. I would like all restaurants to know that when they don't have a public restroom it appears that the ONLY THING the owners care about is taking in money. Another big sign that the owners do not care about providing good service is their 'CASH ONLY' policy. This really aggravates me because this business does not care that a high percent of people use only credit cards. So, while the food at this place is really good I pass up eating there because I never carry cash and there is no ATM for a great distance. read more

I wasn't too impressed with taste considering it had such high ratings. They give you a lot of food so that's definitely a plus. First time I went I ordered the teriyaki meal, not ordering that again.My daughter ordered a hotdog sausage meal, but she didn't seem too thrilled with her food. With all the hype about teriyaki burger I went back the 2nd time (not ordering that again). I like all kinds of teriyaki sauce, but they're burger (slices of beef) just did not do it for me. I decided to give this place one more try so the 3rd time I ordered their all american burger. The burger is much better than the rest. I'll go back to this place if I'm in mood for a big fat burger. 4 stars for their burger and the rest 3 stars. read more
