Pita Plate is one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants in the area. There's great food and great service. It's a small restaurant, but it has a lot of character. The owners and nice people and go above and beyond to make their customers happy. I'm not sure if they still have events there, but I really enjoyed the special bellydance dinner!

Very delicious food! Well seasoned, came out fast and hot. Server was pleasant as well. We arrived at 7:30 PM and she was still happy to serve us and we were fat and happy out the door by 8:05 PM. Really great little place I loved the relaxing atmosphere too! Very clean and taken care of. We will be back.

I stopped by here on my lunch break. The lady at the counter was very friendly. She made recommendations, as their food generally takes time to prepare and I was in a rush. I ended up getting a Greek salad and a side of gyro meat and it was great. The restaurant seemed quite cozy as well, though I didn't have time to stick around. It is quite pricey, but I don't mind supporting small local businesses over the big chains!

Ambience was immediately welcoming and the service was quick and pleasant. I only ordered 2 things as I was on my lunch break 30 min but it was delicious. Traditional gyro w lots is sauce and side falafel also scrumptious!

Food was delicious! I recommend the gyro wrap. Great, quick service. Not a lot of people here on a Saturday night

As soon as you walk in you can see the kitchen and prep counter with the menu right above it. Order at the counter and pick up at the other end when your pager goes off. We kept it simple and ordered the lamb gyro, seasoned fries, drink, and hummus appetizer. We just had waters, but they offer wine, beer, sodas, bottled water, and some other drinks. Fairly simple, but good size menu with plenty of options. There are plenty of seating options with tables, booths, and outdoor tables as well. While we were waiting and eating there were several to go orders. Steady flow of customers in and out. They also have a great music selection! After a short wait our delicious gyros arrived. The presentation was nothing flashy, but good. The fires were seasoned just right for me, but a little too salty for the wife. The gyros were as expected, delicious and a good size for us. The hummus plate was actually larger than expected, but a nice surprise. There was enough naan for sure. I did not take any pics this time. Overall experience was excellent honestly. We'll definitely eat here again. I recommend giving Olea Mediterranean Kitchen a try.

Howeverrr, I finally made it here and wow! Marrakesh quickly became one of my favorite places in Jacksonville. I dined here with some girlfriends for a Christmas gift exchange and we had a table in the back, tucked away from the hustle and bustle and I thought the privacy we got was so nice. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the full bar in the center of the dining room is so aesthetically pleasing. We started with the falafels which were so good and the labneh with pita bread which was even better, definitely my favorite appetizer of the night. I kept going back for more. I am usually a gyro girly but for my entree, I did the three meat platter (chicken tawook, sheesh and shawarma) with the yellow rice and cucumber salad. UGH, I am salivating as I write this. Everything was delicious but the tawook was hands down my favorite protein of the three. Reagan was our server and she is so sweet! She really knows how to take care of you. I can't wait to bring my husband!

Such a great example of continued success for one of the best restaurants in Onslow County. The new place has a larger bar area and I believe a lot more seating and definitely better parking than before. Such a great vibe! The service here has always been excellent. Their main focus is on fresh halal meat and seafood and Middle Eastern products. Eventually the owner plans to start a bakery and dine-in restaurant. They just started having fresh produce today, including kale, cabbage, corn on the cob, squash, tomatoes, limes. Packaged pita bread, individually packaged halva sweets, and bulk nuts, green almonds, and Egyptian dukkah spice are available. Other products are a little bit of everything, including Latin foods, canned goods, kitchenware, syria soap, beans, rice (Egyptian, Basmati, etc), spices, dates, snacks, tea, turkish coffee. Some of the frozen/refrigerated foods include smoked herring, bacon, biscuits, falafel, grated soursop, melted chocolate, mac and cheese with langoustine, Norwegian salmon, sausages, calamari, gelato, Turkish bagels, gyro slices, samosas, kebab, chicken patties, Lahmajun bread, lavash, plain paratha, frozen veggies and herbs including Okra, molokhia herb, broad beans, baklava, kunefe, cheeses. Shelf products include Ghee ($8.99 for 14 oz), Tahini sesame paste ($5.99 for 16 oz or $8.99 for 32 oz or $21.99 for eight pounds), Egyptian rice, basmati rice, different flours like chickpea, almond, cassava, coconut, whole wheat, Jareesh (crushed wheat), cauliflower rice, small packaged noodles, lupini beans, jarred pacaya, vermicelli, basbousa boxed mix. There are a lot of different and interesting spices, such as Chinese pine nuts, dried limes, mahshi spice, lebanese spices (shawarma, kibby, sumac, kafta, ouzi), yemeni hot chili pepper, black roasted onions, yemen spice, Zaatar, as well as Karkaday Egyptian Hibiscus tea flowers. I tried this pastry made from Karen bakery in New Jersey, warmed up in the oven for about 15 minutes at 350°. It was plain, but very good-flaky and buttery. The bread would go perfect with tea for an afternoon snack or small breakfast meal. Also tried frozen falafel (Ziyad brand) and baked it, even though it called for deep frying (trying to be healthy you know). They were cute little circular shaped falafel, about 1.75 in diameter and about half an inch thick. Although I prefer a ball shaped size, it did have good flavor. If there's a product you're looking for and they don't have it, the owner is willing to see if he can get it for you. I look forward to coming back when the bakery and restaurant opens. Side note: ask permission if you want to take any pictures. The owner was not happy or friendly towards me taking close up pictures of his products while browsing the store, regardless of the reason. I didn't have the greatest shopping experience. So if you want to try to remember the name of the product, best to write it down on a notepad instead of taking a picture. But then again, he might not like that either.
