Here's a tip for you...You can call him, and tell him the year make and model of your car, and he will recommend the correct tire manufacturer an model tire to use. He's seen it all, and he is so polite about sharing information. Turns out I should have bought a bit different tire for my Audi A6, however I'm very satisfied with them right now. He mentioned the tires I bought would probably wear faster due to the independent rear suspension. He also uses Nitrogen to inflate your tires, and he has the highest level of equipment, even for expensive rims. read more

This is the 2nd time I have used Craig for tires. The mounting and balancing equipment he uses is the best of the best, and it is definitely noticable when you drive away. He installed Bridgestone Revo's on my 2001 GMC Sierra last spring and a year later, my truck rides better than it has ever on the previous sets of tires that were not installed by him. Today, he installed a set of Toyo Open Country HL's on my mother-in-laws 2002 Ford F150. Again, his knowledge and skill definitely showed on the drive home. Craig's prices are very competitive, and you definitely get what you pay for, unlike many of the chain tire stores. Never again will I suffer through another tire purchase from so called tire dealers! They are all like buying a used car, but this place is completely different. The owner is a firefighter who installs (and sells) tires on an appointment basis. He has set up a state of the art shop on the corner of Virginia Ave and the Pinellas Trail in Palm Harbor. Just head west at the main Palm Harbor Post office from Alt 19 and just past the trail - you can't miss it. I found Craig whilst researching tires for a work truck on line. From the instant I got him on the phone, having been a mechanic myself for many years, I knew he was the man to see. He wanted to know the make and model and immediately told me what type of tire would offer the best service for my particular application. I had intended to buy the tires on line and have Craig install them (which he is fine with), but I asked him to offer a quote on the same tire and he was actually $20 cheaper. I got North American made tires at a competitive price and expertly installed. Allow me to elucidate that latter comment. The first thing Craig did when he removed the wheels was to get a special tool and a drill driver. He then proceeded to clean the back side of each wheel where it mates with the hub on the truck. He did the same to each wheel. This clearly ensures a better mate, with less problems that might result from detritus between the wheel and hub. Some might be rolling their eyes about now, but understand in many years of "wrench twisting" myself and plenty of tire installs, I have never once seen anyone goo to this length on a tire installation. Craig took my install very seriously. He is also an interesting and community-minded individual. It was a pleasure spending just north of an hour with him last Saturday. That shop called and told me they wouldn't work on my truck because they didn't have the equipment to do it...even though they were a recommended installer on TireRack. So I went with Craig, had great reviews and thought I'd give it a try...made up for my mistake going with Craig at Pit Crew Tire Service. Service is by appointment so he respects your time and doesn't mess around. Doesn't charge more for more expensive cars and doesn't charge less for beat up cars. Fair honest man. I got Bridgestone 760 sports for my Hyundai Genesis Coupe, the grip also handling was more then what I expected from these tires and the speed boost was really nice too.
