Some of the crew/cast as the show begins
Whitney F.

This was a great evening activity! I originally booked this for my husband who loves pirates, and the gentleman who we booked with via phone made me excited for this by time I ended the call; his actual words were "I'm a local and I recommend it!" First of all, the show is kid-friendly, but don't confuse that with it being a kiddy show, it's not. The entire crew is dressed in theme and the ship is truly decked out (even the restrooms are decorated!). The food was delicious; we got the deluxe package and I had the langostino lobster (comes with 2 lobster tails) and my husband had the surf and turf (lobster tail and steak), unfortunately I didn't get any pictures but it really was very tasty! It is a very audience interactive show and that helps to make it over the top. If you need an evening activity, I definitely suggest trying the Jolly Roger Pirate Show!

Some of the fun.

We booked a show tonight, received incorrect address from Google and Uber. We called for a refund and they told us to come and they would get us on the ship. They sent the rescue boat back for us and took us to the ship and treated us great! This was the most fun of all the things we did an Cancún. They were also the only place that made a mango margarita on the rocks for my lady, and, she said it was the best she's had. 5 stars to the cast and crew for going ABOVE and BEYOND for us. It made our vacation!

This was the only tour that was available on our last night in Cancun. It was nice that they also provided transportation to and from our hotel. When we arrived, we had to pay the docking fee and choose the main entree for our dinner. My friend and I both chose the surf and turf and then waited to board the ship. During this time, some of the crew members will play around with you or try to scare you LOL. Non alcoholic drinks were also provided, so I tried the tamarind agua fresca. You are appointed to someone that will be taking care of you on the ship, so make sure you remember which "team" you belong to. Once you board, they take a professional photo of you with the captain while the lived band plays some familiar tunes. We decided to get a couple of margaritas to start with and then the show began! I liked that they speak in Spanish and English during the entire show. There was a lot of action packed scenes and a couple guys even jumped in the water! Beware that there were some gory scenes, so it might not be appropriate for little ones. When it was time for dinner, we were escorted downstairs. We made a line to get our side items with our main course at the end. The whole process was very organized! I also got to take a photo with the band, which was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed my dinner and was stuffed! For dessert, I tried the cream puff and it was pretty good. Afterwards, our server/bartender made us some kind of slushy, which was refreshing! At the end of the show, you can take photos with the cast, so that was pretty cool. I recommend on attending this show if you are looking for something different and fun to do while in Cancun.

We booked on the Jolly Roger at the actual pier and the guy who booked us was very kind and didn't try to up sell us at all which I appreciated. When we got to the ship, they were very organized and also had safety protocols in place for Covid. They provided everyone with face shields to make it easier to eat and drink. The show was impressive and the actors clearly care about their jobs. After the show we went down in the ship for dinner- I had the steak and my husband had the shrimp tacos, both of which were cooked to perfection! Our waiter (who was also part of the show) was extremely prompt and professional- we were very satisfied with his attentiveness to us even in the midst of his acting in the show. After dinner and dessert we went back on deck and were treated to a dance party while we made our way back to the dock. At the end of the trip the captain did an ask for tips for both the waiters and the actors which was done in a very professional manner. Because we went during off season and in the middle of Covid, there were probably only 60 or so guests. I think the ship can hold a couple hundred guests and I'm not sure it would have been as enjoyable had the ship been packed. All in all we had a great time.

Just wow!!!! We were on the Jolly Roger and it was a fantastic show that was fine for adults and kids alike. The food was good, and the staff was excellent well worth the money! Where do it again in a heartbeat

The Jolly Roger experience overall averages 3.5 stars. Also don't pay full price for the show, see tips below for details! Food (2 stars): the food was cafeteria style dinning with buffet quality. You get your main course item slapped on top of a bunch of sides that everyone else gets. Ergo, the upgrade for the lobster or lamb is not worth the money. Drinks (3 stars): the drinks are "premium" and abundant, but don't get carried away ordering fancy mixed drinks. Any mixed drink with more than 2 ingredients won't taste right. However, they do make good blended drinks. The Pina colada and Mangonada are worth a try. Also shots are like triple the amount of an American shot...drink responsibly. Show (3 stars): The actors do put in a lot of effort to make the show interactive. However, the actors first say the line in Spanish and then say the same line in English. Although most people can follow the plot, a lot of dialogue is confusing and the jokes aren't as funny when told that way. Regardless, it's still entertaining and overall a good experience. Service (5 stars): the pirates are very friendly and definitely do try hard to make sure you're always attended to. Whatever you ask, if reasonable, they'll try to make it happen. Pro tip: try to be seated in the front row of the second deck. It has the best view and often has more privacy (i.e. less crowded). It is worth sliding a few bills for those seats on a busy night. If you want more interaction though, by all means, sit on the bottom deck. Also, spend time doing research to get the best price and definitely don't pay at the door. The cheapest tickets we found (the day of) was actually on their website. You can also call them (if you speak fluent Spanish) and negotiate a deal. However, if they sell out of tickets on their website, you can still try Tripadvisor. They some times have pre-purchased seats (although a little more expensive). Of note: feel free to tip your waiter throughout the night, but there's a designated time at the end where they go around collecting tips and all the workers split the tips evenly. All in all, the show is entertaining and an enjoyable night when you're with the right people. The show probably is a good place to take the family or just to chill with friends and a few drinks. But definitely not for dirty-30s or bachelorette parties. There are many other ways to celebrate the latter while in Cancun!

This was my first time in Mexico Cancun and I came to Jolly Roger Pirate show in Cancun and it was definitely worth it. I paid 102$ per person plus 11.00$ per person for port fee that Mexico requires. The show is for all ages. Alcoholic drink and non alcoholic drinks are included, food is included and the show. The crew on board are so friendly, kind, super funny and wonderful hospitality. You can tell they honestly love there job and enjoy making people happy. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in Cancun Mexico ! Thank you Jolly Roger

This tour is worth every cent as far as the entertainment portion. From sound, light, to the pyrotechnics everything hits its ques. From the moment you check-in and receive your wristbands you are now a part the extravaganza. The actors and waiters are out on the pier to introduce themselves, take pictures, and get to know each guest. Our personal pirate(waiter) Lucas even went as far as to take out drink orders so that the wait wouldn't be long once we were on board. This is customer service at its finest. The only reason that this tour isn't receiving 5 stars is because of the food. The food portions are bountiful, but the advertised food did not match the food received. More specifically the steak options. It is advertised as a New York Strip steak and we received a piece of steak that was not close to a New York Strip Steak. I ordered surf and turf and did not eat my steak. It was not what appeared in the advertised picture. Other than that minor setback, I would DEFINITELY recommend going on this tour!

Wife was taken to jail and I was "forced" to dance on top.

The Jolly Roger Pirates Show was great! My son 13 and my daughter 9 had a great time! They enjoyed watching their parents get taken away by pirates. If you show up early enough you get to interact with the pirates. We met Barba Loca (Crazy Beard) who is one of the funniest stars of the show. The show is in both in Spanish and English so everyone gets to enjoy it. If you sit in the top deck you may have great views, but if you're at the bottom deck you are front row and become part of the show as soon as we discovered. The food was good, better than expected. The kids had chicken nuggets and fries and my daughter had spaghetti. My wife had surf and turf and her steak was tasty. I had the lobster and was surprised as how big the it was and how delicious it tasted. You also had access to salad and steamed vegetables as well as other sides. Our waiter was Kraken and he was very accommodating bringing everything we asked from the open bar. It's not just plastic liquor but it's top shelf and so Ron de Zacapa was my poison. The show was great and at the end they represented all of the different countries if the people on board which we thought was a cool move.

Pros: (1) HILARIOUS show (2) Good variety of tasty drinks (2) Friendly/attentive staff (3) 4 hour activity in total, reasonably priced, 85-100 depending on your meal selection Cons: (1) Pasta dish is a step down from lein cuisine, my friend said the lobster/steak meat was tough and too $$, my other friend recommended the fish dish (not able to comment on the chicken dish) (2) The backless wooden benches you sit on for the majority of the night become very uncomfortable - if you can bring some type of cushion, your booty will thank you :) Recommendations: (1) Bring a hat or hair ties as you are in the open, windy air majority of the night (2) Eat something prior as drinks are served well before dinner which is towards the end of the night (3) Bring money to tip your drink server and actors (choose which pirate suited your fancy :) (4) If you wear a dress, note there are steep stairs to be mindful of (commando may not be the best route, for you!)

Two hooks up. Until the finale, the show was pretty sophomoric and low-rent, but fun. The finale was dope. The food was great. Recommended.

From the entirely edible menu, literally edible, to the smoking drink, the steak that melted in my mouth, to the breathtaking show, that had movement at every eye angle. Young, to the wise, will enjoy this. Note, I was planning on going to the Coco bongo show, unknowingly, thinking it was a Las Vegas type of show, to finding out it was a party venture, so I swapped that out for the Cirque du Soleil and it was the best decision of our entire vacation in Mexico. Yes, it may cost a little bit more, but it is totally worth every penny! The staff was super friendly and helpful with my mother, who was unable to walk long distances. So definitely handicap, accessible and friendly. They have wheelchairs to get family members that have disabilities up to their seats and elevators as well to help.

She escorted us in for a quick, private vip cocktail show. Afterwards we were seated right in front of the stage where live music was being played as they served us dinner. The service was excellent and the food was a visual performance in itself! This is a must see if you are in the Cancun/ Riviera Maya area.
