Mayan ruins on the Cancun Hotel Strip! Muy authentico!…read more This place is pretty sweet. It's a cool building, with cool architecture, but not too terribly practical. You have to get all the way to the top floor to see the exhibits. At the ticket booth reads a sign, "The galleries are hot. We have no air condition. No refunds." They were right. The gallery is up on the third floor. No, the elevator didn't work. Instead they had a corkscrew ramp that sent me going round and round and round in circles to get to the hot gallery at the top. The gallery was pretty small, with some pretty cool artifacts, and a human skull, with some awesome carvings, and some jewelry. All Mayan. So cool. There's also a temporary exhibit that had portraits of working Mexicans posing in the photos with the tools of their trades. Outside, is a super fun nature walk along an improved trail that takes you past several small ruins (one with painting still in the interior). The path terminates at a half pyramid that you can walk around, but not up. There's a small bookstore that seems lacking at the exit. It's a fun, fairly inexpensive way to get some art and culture on your trip to Cancun, to get to see ruins without having to go way out into the jungle is pretty special.

This is in the hotel zone. Our 7 year old kid enjoyed walking through the outdoor part through the jungle (searching for iguanas). It was nice and shady and peaceful. The indoor part was fine. This is a great cheap and easy activity to do after lunch when it's super hot and bright, to stay out of the sun! We could have taken a bus for 12 pesos or $1 USD from our hotel, but we didn't realize.

Checkin was smooth and easy, bus ride great, a 5 minute walk to the boat to an unforgettable evening. It is a tight fit as we all sat closely around the table in the middle of the boat. Food was served, conversations and entertainment flowed all night. Between dinner and dessert we were up dancing. After dinner, we got off the boat for a 10 minute restroom break before continuing down the river. Very well organized!!! It was a party all night long! Food was incredible! Service and hosts were top notch. Organization of the evening made it go by so fast. About 3 hours were spent on the boat eating, chatting, dancing or playing games. Would do this again in a heartbeat. Wonderful evening!!!

Amazing to think these were built so long ago! It's not huge maybe a quarter of a mile long, you just walk around, lots of iguanas sunbathing! They are not the most popular spot for Mayan ruins but its easily accesible if you do not have the time to visit Chichen Itza. There are around 40 stone structres and you need to do your own research. There are not many signages or information next to the structures. You will see a lot of iguanas in this location. An interesting location to explore if you are in the hotel zone. Do not miss it.

The shadee path is well kept and will lead you to multiple ruins, until you reach the pyramid at the end. Even though the museum was crowded, the ruins were not, which made for great photo ops. I definitely recommend if you have a few hours to spare!

You can access this Mayan ruins after you pass through the Museo Maya de Cancun--both are included…read morein the entry fee, and both are worth it if you're interested in this sort of thing (like me). This Mayan archaeological site is interesting intrinsically as well as for the fact that it was one of the last places inhabited by the Mayans before the arrival of the Spaniards. On the day we visited, there was hardly anybody else here, so chances are that you will have a very peaceful visit, should you decide to come. You can see the Museum and the grounds in about an hour.

The great thing about this "museum" is you can see it diving, obviously, but also snorkeling, and even in those boats with the underwater view decks. You cannot beat this dive experience, because you can get so unclose and personal, but if diving isn't your thing, it still worth it to go snorkel or on a boat tour. i know this isn't your typical shipwreck, as I'm usually not a fan of "intentionally sunken" wrecks to dive at, but this was still so awesome even though it was intentionally put there. I mean these statues would be cool in a building, but not THAT awesome, however, putting them underwater in the crystal clear, turquoise waters of Mexico's Caribbean, there's a magical eeriness about it that makes is one-of-a-kind. I loved all the fish swimming in between all the statues. It's an easy dive, not too deep, with lots of swimming room.

While on vacation to Cancun we decided to check out the dolphin experience, for a unique family…read moreexperience. We arrived and got a quick run down of what expect during our time. It was noted we couldn't take our phones with us, which is a way to prevent t guests from getting free pictures of the dolphins. I quickly realized photos at the end is how they make the majority of their money, which then obligated you to buy their photos. While I get that's how they make most of their money, they way they charge for pictures is extremely expensive on a way to take advantage of guests; more specifically tourists. From inside the main building you can take video and pictures if you want, but after that you have to out your camera and phones away. A locker to secure our items while out in the water was also $15, but they also charge a $5 deposit on top of that like a security deposit. To hold for whatever reason, when the $15 you don't get back anyways. It's a sneaky way of possibly getting a little more money out of you. The actual dolphin experience was cool. We got to ride out from the center of the pool with one of the dolphins, and got to see then do tricks. While the dolphin trainer told us about the specific dolphins we got to see, and dolphins in general. The experience itself was about 45 if I had to guess, and the dolphin trainer was friendly and entertaining. WHERE THEY GET YOU: We were told it was $35/photos but upon arrival we learned it was actually $35/PER PERSON and not photo. We went as a group of 4 expecting to get at least family photos at $35/each, but with it actually being $35/per person. Our group of 4 picture was going to be $140...that's insane! The sales rep tried to get us to get the package deal of all the photos for $220; as if that was better. But if I wasn't going to pay $140 for a single group picture, I definitely wasn't going to pay $200 for all of our pictures. We opted to just get pictures of each of the boys, which was $70 and even that I was highly annoyed with. Overall: Pricing is very misleading, and with not being able to take your own photos. You're forced to get their extremely expensive photos for memories, or you're left with no pictures at all.
