They kept my 1999 Civic running smooth for 26 years. Before that a 1987 Civic. The quality and level of trustworthiness sets them as the only shop to take your Honda. Over the years, they have always provided superior customer service and the highest value on what I have paid for repair and maintenance. They will even advise on situations, example. "We need to replace your radiator. While we are working on this, we can also take care of the water pump and a few other items as it is due for maintenance. This will save you several hundred dollars in labor costs vs coming back in." Even several times they have provided no cost solutions if I would do a simple task... "Your engine stuttering and upon inspecting, go get this fuel additive and run a few cans through. It should solve your issue." Which it did. $20 instead of several hundred. The staff is very knowledgably, friendly and highly trained. They know their Hondas, inside and out.

Very honest service: I had the dealership tell me I need multiple things replaced; however, when I went to Exclusive Repair, they were realistic and said many of the items did not to be replaced quite yet. Overall, they made the repair process so seamless as they texted me their recommendations / photos and pricing, and then I could respond with which repairs I wanted to have done. I had oil change, engine and cabin filters replaced, and brake light replaced. I needed a wheel alignment, but that was not something they could do. Very reasonable pricing, and they even gave me a discount for being a UNMC employee. The drop off appointments are easy to get, but the waiting appointments book out 6 weeks or so. If you have a Honda, definitely recommend this place!!

They asked if I was having trouble or any issue and used the common sense of "if it isn't broke, don't fix it." I think another garage would have seen $$$ and performed unnecessary work. My clock is ticking faster than young folks and I really wanted something roomy and comfortable for a large 6' 1" good eater and outdoor chef, handyman, hobbyist, for what is almost certain to be my last vehicle. But....... that budget. To come to the point - I went to Gateway on the opposite end of town from me, to look at another vehicle that ended up not being a good match for me, but, next to it was a Honda Pilot, little older, with some miles. Vehicle had some moderate work done yet, Ben offered this information without my even asking. Try getting THAT somewhere else!!! Perfect vehicle for my needs. Love it! Now it's time to talk money and I meet Ben, the co-owner and main sales force. The vehicle seemed to need a couple minor things to help make me comfortable with the purchase, and these were done, WITH a LOANER car, thanks to Ben. Dave at the front counter is Ben's right hand man, and very capable. Every employee I bumped into or interacted with at Gateway was at minimum professional, and as I understand it they are all ASE certified! Between them all, the agreed minor repairs were completed, my full smile installed, deal struck. A good deal. In closing, now many hundreds of miles later, my vehicle is running and behaving perfectly. I bought this at a fair price and Dave and Ben did what they said they would do, and did so respectfully and promptly. They handed me information NO used car seller would ever do, and kept their promises. I would not recommend anyone buy a used vehicle before looking at what Gateway has to offer. I never thought you could actually trust a used car sales operation, but, I was wrong. Semper Fi

They blamed the extra cost on recalibration, and said they didn't know how much that costs ahead of time. Giving a low initial quote and then jacking up the price once the work is done is downright shady. I will note that I also got a quote from Dingman's that was slightly higher than Kaizen's quote (though lower than the final bill) that did include a flat cost for recalibration, so apparently they figured it out. It took 5 weeks to get the car into the shop, which is fine (every place is busy these days). Two days after dropping it off, they informed me I'd be without my car for 2 weeks, which seemed like a long time for a simple fix (no spare parts or anything). The day I was supposed to pick it up, I called in to see when it would be ready; only then was I informed it would be a further 2 days. Note they never called me. Between the completely wrong estimate, the long repair time, and the complete lack of communication, I would have assumed this is the first time they've fixed a car. In retrospect I should have asked more questions, but I naively assumed that the shop would be honest and accurate in their communication. Then again if they had been honest, I might have chosen a different shop. The cherry on top was that when I got my car back, they had broken the driver-side seatbelt (it wouldn't retract). They did fix it within a half hour (nice of them), but the employee who gave me my keys told me that the guy who had reassembled the seatbelt just didn't care about doing a good job. I will leave it there without further comment.

The driver fender and driver door was damaged, and the suspension was knocked out of alignment. I have a scratch in my driver side mirror that wasn't there after my car was hit. There was some kind of grease on the mirror and driver side window. There was grease left under the sun visor on the driver side. I had a pretty nice Captain America themed steering wheel cover that is now ruined due to one of the grimy workers smearing grease all over the cover and upon trying to clean it, rubbed off most of the color. The cover is now mostly grease colored. Someone at the shop took everything in the passenger side of the vehicle as well as the back seat of the vehicle, and threw it all into the cargo area of the vehicle. Now tell me, why do you need to get into the back seat while doing body work? I can see the floors were vacuumed, which is great, but who gave you the right to throw everything into the cargo area? I would recommend this shop for great work, but I'm pretty steamed about the rest of what they did. And let me add, I didn't ask for my car to be washed. I'm looking a gift horse in the mouth, but I'm that kind of person.
