Red sauce and cod pasta
Alana D.

We only had a day in Cinque Terre and I choose to come here as it was a quicker dinning experience with excellent reviews. We had their popular dishes of the pesto trofie and red sauce pasta with cod. Both pastas were delicious and very affordable with quick service. We enjoyed the pastas and the Aperol Spritz on their cute patio. This dinning experience was exactly what I was hoping for! A heads up is this restaurant is on the less busy side of town so it was slightly harder to find but well worth the walk.

This place knows pesto! You're not going to get fine dining, a formal experience, or some Michelin flairs. You'll get pesto straight up with no frills. It's like what you'd want any Italian grandmother to make you. It even comes in a basic cardboard to go box if needed. The basic pesto pasta is so delicious we went twice for it. I also tried the octopus pasta which was very good but didn't quite hit like the pesto. At €9 for a plate you can't beat it for the value or lack of wait time. I had no wait and had food within a few minutes. The staff is friendly and speaks English. There's outdoor covered seating and some drink options.

Super food and incredibly friendly people. HIGHLY recommend the pesto pasta. We also had pasta with tomato, olive, fresh tuna. Both were delicious but the pesto was sublime. Great atmosphere!

The friendly hostess! She's adorable!

We came here because we are looking for savory noodle dishes without the thrill and price tag. The local bnb host recommended them, so here we are! The shop is small, but very clean and upbeat. The couple are very friendly, and they have the English menu on the charcoal wall. The sandwiches look very fresh! We ordered the tomato sauce and pesto pasta. They came quickly and was popping hot! At first we loved the pesto, then we realized alternate the favors beings a new dimension to the pallet! The owner said he just made the pesto with fresh ingredients and slow cook for two hours. The sauce was lime green, savory creamy deliciousness! All in all. The price is good, the owners are friendly and the pastas are simple and reasonable priced. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Small little corner shop that sells pasta and sandwiches. You go up to the counter and order. It's basically fast food, they package everything for take out but they have a small little seating area right outside if you wanted to eat it there. I'm allergic to nuts and seafood and unfortunately their pesto has nuts (they don't specify what it is either). The tomato basil was very basic and simplistic. The pasta for both were cooked a little too Al dente-- the center of the pasta was a different color and a bit too uncooked for me. Pesto itself was creamy and good.

Amazing hidden gem in Vernazza. Fast and great experience. The food is very delicious. We had the pesto, cheese, and tomato sandwich, which was to die for, the special calamari and potato sandwich, which was excellent, and the tuna, pesto, caramelized onion sandwich, which is one of a kind. It was so good that we came back to Vernaza a second day just so we can eat here again.

The food was amazing. Not too much seating available however it was worth finding this place. The pesto pasta was the best in all of Italy.

The pesto pasta is their most popular order, it's includes the local Ligurian pasta: trofie, distinguished by its thin and twisted shape.

Fast forward to now, and it's not quite the same. The staff isn't very friendly, and trust me, that matters way more than you think when you're on vacation. The gelato itself is still solid, especially if you're into fruity flavors, but it doesn't have that old charm that made it memorable. Definitely good for a quick fruity fix, but "service with a smart smile" was lacking compared to the way it used to be.

I didn't expect to like it as much as I did, but almost every review I read mentioned it as a must-try, and I'm so glad I did. It's a strong but delightful cinnamon flavor, and it's not overpowering. Our eyes widened as we ate it, because it tasted exactly the way a cinnamon stick smells. They somehow transformed a basic common spice into something new and exotic. I've never eaten anything like it before. Meanwhile, my husband got a lemon slush because we were hot and sweaty from hiking between towns. It hit the spot perfectly and was so refreshing without being too sweet. Even though I loved my gelato, I also couldn't resist stealing more than a few sips. The location is perfect too, just near the center of town and also near a ledge by the water where you can sit while you people-watch and enjoy your sweet treat. Definitely make this your gelato stop in Cinque Terre. Order the cinnamon, and I promise you won't be disappointed!

I came inside and I was a little bummed out because there were flies all over the inside of the food heaters where they put all the fried seafood. I mean, a little contamination never hurt anyone... So I did end up getting what I intended to get. I mean, it's not every day I am in Italy. I was trying to savor the moment. Although there were flies all over the food area, the mixed cones were okay. I was more into the experience of being in another country and the beauty of this place itself. Try it because you're there... Don't expect the best, but you're in Italy! Do it.

Fried seafood in a cone…read more There are a couple fried food stands in Riomaggiore, we tried a couple and found that this one was the best. The small little shop have very limited settings but the convenience of the way they are packaged, is easy to take away and eat. There are few choices of fried goodies and we got the combination of fries, calamari, octopus, and fish. The seasoning was flavorful and it is plenty to share if ordered the large for a little $ more. The focaccia pizza was delicious and it was also a nice decent amount. Best to share so you can try a variety of stuff. I think it can also be too much fried stuff if one person was to eat it.
