They told me that it was painless, quick, and simply the best. And they had a cancellation and were able to pencil me in same day! The woman I spoke with was also giving me a break down of insurance things trying to help me save money, but in the end I decided to bite the bullet and come in. Dr Berg had friendly bedside manner, I was told exactly what was going to happen step by step to calm my nerves, but since I had come from a dentist that didn't refer him, he did a sensitivity test which actually showed a different tooth was more sensitive to pain than the one I was brought in to get checked out for. He asked more questions to try to see what was going on and we ended up not having to do a root canal. He gave his recommendations and so far I haven't felt any pain since. He saved me from spending almost $1k since it's the end of the year my insurance was capped so it all would have been out of pocket. I may need to see him later if this doesn't continue to work, so I will update my review if that is the case or if later down the line I'll need a root canal. But I definitely don't understand why there are poor reviews on here...

Was told that they required full payment up front, that they would submit the claim form and the insurance co would reimburse me. Got my EOB from Delta Dental to find out that the maximum charge should have been $1064 & my Out of Pocket max was $240. The check was sent to the dentist, not me. Called the office to be told that their office mgr wasn't in, she'd call on Monday. She did not. She left a voice mail on Wednesday while I was out of town on business. Call the office on Friday, and no one there to help. Their policy on their site says "As a courtesy to our patients, we will gladly file your insurance claims. We estimate your portion of the total fee based entirely on the information your insurance company gives us. We then require payment of your estimated portion at the time of treatment. " (stlrootcanals.com) They did NOT call the insurance co. If they had, I would have paid $240, not $1500. 4 weeks later, I cannot get the $1250 that I over paid. No one can answer any questions and I keep getting the run around. Submitted a fraud report to the insurance co and will send complaint to MO Dental Board. This is not right and they are not finding it to have any urgency whatsoever.

I've never had this type of dental…read morework performed on me before, but I have a vivid memory of my mother crying after she had a root canal some 50 years ago. After reading other reviews that all indicated how quick and relatively pain free this procedure was at Sage Endododontics, and reminding myself I've had two total knee replacements, with months of pain, I assured myself that this wasn't going to be too bad. I was still nervous about it. I shouldn't have been. From the time I called for an appointment to the actual root canal, everything went smoothly. The staff couldn't have been nicer, or the process easier. When I called for the appointment I was told since I had no dental insurance that the cost would be $1700 and that was all inclusive. I arrived early, and was told that the person scheduled before me never showed up, so I was taken earlier than my appointment time. First, they took some x-rays in the chair, and then led me to an adjacent room where they took 360 degree x-rays. I returned to the chair and the assistant put the x-rays on a small illuminated viewer for Dr. Corretjer to review. (They referred to her by her middle name, Dr. Garcia). She came in a few minutes later and looked at the x-rays and asked me if I had any questions. I only had one, "How long will the procedure take?" She said, "About 20 minutes." Amazing! I was offered a blanket, which I accepted, as well as watching Netflix or the HG channel while the procedure was done. I decided just to close my eyes and try to relax while it happened. I was told by the assistant that if I felt any pain to raise my hand, and if I needed them to suction any excess salava to raise my index finger. During the root canal I didn't have either of those things happen. They put what looked like dark sunglasses over my regular glasses and then Dr. Garcia applied some numbing gel to my gums. Then she injected the local anesthetic in 3 spots around the affected tooth. Even the injections were about half the pain I remembered having when I had a crown installed years ago. My root canal only took 20 minutes as predicted by Dr. Garcia. Other than the numbing injections, it was completely painless. When it was done, they took a few more x-rays in the chair, and that was that. I was given a sheet of post operative instructions, and told I could return in a year for a complimentary follow-up exam. I was directed to contact my dentist to have a permanent filling put in within 2-4 weeks. If you need a root canal I highly recommend Sage Endodontics as the place to have it done. I had a five star experience there.
