    I pay a ridiculous amount of money for horrible internet. Unfortunately I don't have a choice.

    $80 for internet is robbery. It's twice the price and half as good as the internet I've had in other locations.

    They installed service at the house next door to me. Their "installation" consisted of finding a 2…read moreby 4 that was laying in a trash pile and nailing it to the side of the house and then stringing their cable and putting up their box. The 2 by 4 started leaning and the cable started sagging until it was snagged by a truck passing by and half tore the 2 by 4 off the house, letting the cable hang to 10 feet above the road. I called and was told it was 45 minutes on hold for a representative. I drove to the local office to report the safety hazard and was told to just cut it myself. What? So I did. I got the 2 by 4 completely removed, then cut the wire to the house and the wire to the cable itself. Kicked the cable to the side of the road. No one has come out to coil it and put it back on the main line or anything else. If this is their first impression, the installation, imagine how bad the customer service and/or repairs would be! I work from home so I can't be without internet. I decided not to use them after I saw their installation....so very unprofessional!!

I'm filing photo-documented complaints to the Better Business Bureau, consumer protection fraud, and the Attorney General of Oregon. I switched to spectrum which is amazing but then had to obviously cancel my astound account. After spending over three hours trying to figure out how to do that because whenever I called, They would put me hold, for over an hour, without ever having actually speak to anyone and trust me, no one has ever ever going to pick up that phone. They bank on you becoming frustrated and walking away, that endless phone loop is fake and this company's pathetic business model is to prevent you from canceling. NONE OF THEIR LISTED EMAILS WORK! SEE BELOW! That's it folks! That's the way they make their money! I highly recommend spectrum and if you go with astound, you've been warned and grow a brain. UPDATE: you can see below that someone named Jacqueline told me to private message her but what she's not sharing is that I've already done that several times without any response, starting with my Twitter account. I'll just go into the office on Monday and we'll see what happens. I've attached the latest bill they sent me. Really Jaqui? 300+ dollars for what? Unbelievable. FURTHER UPDATE: remarkably, someone from their company sent me a working email address but guess what it's for an exclusively for? That's right, negative yelp reviews. I also found out with a $345 charge was Four and guess what that was for? Equipment that I hadn't returned within 24 hours of canceling the account. Really? You think your router etc. is worth $345? This is called retaliatory billing. All going into my reports. I will say that the elderly gentleman at the Waldport Store is wonderful and the technicians themselves were great. All of the issues are topped down starting with the invisible CEO.

    Ok... so I'm a fairly typical Florence resident. And yes I'm over 65. My interweb was getting…read moreunreliable. Do I called Hyak and asked if there was an issue. Nope. But remotely they checked "my" system and noted I needed some "router" updates. Tyler was so helpful. Tyler corrected and updated my gadgets and stayed on the phone until all was right again. Thanks Tyler. Thanks Hyak.

    I was very unhappy with Florence Oregon's Hyak service response (lack of) yesterday (1/6) and today…read more(1/7). They advertise 24 hour support. Is this false advertising! I understand if we have to leave a message; but their recording promised that someone would call us back and no one did. Service requested.... Yesterday at around 6 -7pm our internet suddenly went down. So, we called Hyak several times and always got voicemail. No one ever called us back. In fact, one of the times I called, I got a different voicemail which actually said no one would be available at all and we should leave a message and we'd be called back during business hours M-F 9-5. We were never called back, not even this morning after opening hours of 9 AM!!! We finally decided to drive down to their office and wait till they opened... the office was closed and it was after 9 am! So, I called Hyak's sales team (different number in another city) and let them know we were at the Florence office and wondering when they'd open. They said they were in fact on the phone with them and they'd let the office know we were waiting in the car and to let us in !!!! They finally opened at 9:30! When in, they did get us the help we needed to get our Internet going again. We're thankful but why did they have to wait so long and why did we have to drive down? Makes me wonder what people do that can't drive down. By the way, it's January 7 and their voicemail message said the office was closed for Christmas December 24th and 25th. ‍ That old Christmas message needs to be updated! Also, when I asked the tech about the poor response to service requests, he implied they did not have full support and were working on it. Although I appreciate the honesty, it's unacceptable! Hyak needs this to change pronto. One of the reasons we signed up was because of the 24 hour support service promised. So they need to get on the ball and do what's expected after all the hard work installing the system and promoting it. We deserve better and Hyak needs to do better.
