This review is for Harvey's: Harvey's is exactly what you'd expect for a pub in a bowling alley. It's a nice local bar/restaurant with a decent beer selection and typical drinks. The burgers and pizza are very good. They even have gluten free pizza which my wife really enjoyed. The menu is not real broad but what they do offer, they seem to do well. Plenty of TVs if you want to watch a game. The atmosphere is nice with multiple seating options (bar, booth, dining table and bar table). Overall, it's a nice place to eat or hang out and have a few beers/drinks. And of course, there's all the games and bowling if that's your thing. Check it out if you're in the area. read more

Food was sub par. Soggy wings Costco style chicken wings. We ordered Italian fries- which are not fries at all but some type of cheese pizza. The arcade while fun for kids is a rip off. They didn't "win" any tickets it all gets loaded onto a card and the games say how much your winning yet what you have on your card doesn't match up in the least bit. Both my kids should have had well over a 1000 tickets each on their card yet one had like 150 the other had like 300. We paid for laser tag which everyone should skip my sons gun quit working almost immediately. And the employees are not helpful it's like your a burden to them and their conversations with other employees. It was such a let down after bringing my son for his birthday. A couple we were with ordered old fashions as well that were not old fashions. Someone should look at their menu/drink menus and fix how they list or describe things because it's wildly inaccurate. If you want service, do not go to Pinz. There is no waitstaff when bowling. When we approached the front desk to ask about ordering food and drinks, they said they would send someone over... 20 mins later the bartender took our order. He was not only extremely rude but he gave us the wrong food and drinks. The place was dirty and there was booze sitting out in the game area... for hours, that went uncleaned. Very disappointed with the experience. If your not going to serve food, let people know. And instead of having 3 people sit at the counter, have them go clean. We will not be back. read more

Let me start with that this is really a 0 star rating! Me and a group of my friends went here to play some laser tag and decided to buy the unlimited pass because the price for the single pass was $8 and the price for the unlimited was $13. So we figured well we'll be here for an hour and a half so we might as well get the unlimited pass so that we can play multiple times. Well that's where we thought wrong we each payed for the unlimited pass and then waited for our turn and waited and waited watching all of these other groups of people go in who had only paid for a single and the worker even let in kids who hadn't paid at all. We were all very frustrated at this because, you know we paid for the unlimited pass and then we heard the worker say this," you you guys can just go in these people bought the unlimited pass so they can just wait here." We were shocked so thank you Pinz for making us sit there for an hour and a half not doing anything because every time we asked the worker or his manager the assured me that we would be going in next but it never happened! read more

This is for Harvey's. My husband and I went there for dinner on 4-12. and no one came to greet us to give us menu's or take a drink order. We went there one time before and actually got to eat. The food was good however, the service sucked. So after not getting any service after 10 minutes we left. It was busy in there and seemed like all the wait staff was at the bar. Nothing like being ignored. So we left and gave our business somewhere else and the staff took our order right away. We live really close to Pinz and i won't go there again. Other businesses To eat. Required to reserve a lane online, but website does not allow you to use a gift card to pay for that lane. If I were a server here I'd be as upset as I can see all the patrons are right now. There's not much you can do when management completely understaffs on a holiday week especially a Friday. On Saturday I attended a kid's birthday party at Pinz in Oakdale, and I was extremely surprised at the level of service provided by Pinz staff. First, it should be noted that I do not have kids nor do I usually go to birthday parties for 8-year-olds, so my expectations were initially low. However, the level of organization was second-to-none. From the moment the kids arrived, we were attended by an employee who kept us company the entire party. She put a birthday sticker on the birthday boy, and then took everyone's coats and kept them on a cart. She took our shoe orders and then had the bowling shoes delivered to our lane. She set up the names and our lanes which made things extremely easy. She brought out pitchers of pop, and as they were unlimited, continued to go back for refills. Next was laser tag, which was my first time playing the game. It was easy to learn and so much fun. My only complaint was that it didn't last long enough. Following that our hostess told the boys to wash their hands, and then we moved on to the party room for pizza and cake. It was so cool to see that the birthday package included a souvenir bowling pin, which all the boys signed and then gave to the birthday boy as a gift. As if I wasn't impressed already, our hostess even offered to record the gifts and the givers' names, to facilitate with thank yous later. After that each boy was given a $5 game card for the arcade. All but one of the games was working, and most of the cards worked fine. One boy's card didn't, but it was promptly replaced with a working one when we brought this to the staff's attention. All in all, this was an amazingly smooth and fun event thanks to the organization and helpfulness of PINZ staff. I would wholeheartedly recommend the experience to anyone. read more

We went today on Martin Luther King Day and of course it was busy because kids were out of school. They had one waitress staffed on the 24 lanes which was absolutely packed. None of this is fault of the waitress she was doing her best with such a great attitude. We waited an hr for 2 pizzas and both pizzas were cold. Been to PINZ a few times through the years. Being that I'm on the far side of 694 these days, I don't get over there too often, unless it's for a special event. That said, they do have some solid deals through the week so keep that in mind if you're going to go or plan an event. Bowling wise, they have a ton of lanes, so running out of lanes shouldn't be too much of an issue for the place, and the prices aren't too bad at all. Especially if you snag an all you can bowl, or time of the day deal. What I like though is that the bowling balls are all color coded, and have finger sizes identified. I've had my fingers popped out from bowling balls before, and it's a bastard (actually forced me to just going with a curve throw instead of rolling). Very nice to see that there is no guessing anymore with that. Ramps for the youngsters, and some cosmic atmosphere too at certain times. Lanes were well oiled for proper bite on the balls (heeeeeeeeeeeeyo). Laser tag on Mondays does get backed up a bit thanks to all you can play for a flat rate. Some of the arcade games have been there for a while, so it'd be nice to see them switch them out a bit. Service at the lanes leaves a bit to be desired. On more than 3 separate occasions we had to go up to the refill station to get more water. There were only a handful of lanes going at the time too, maybe 4 at the most. Then as we head out, we go hand back the shoes and told we have to settle with our serve... who's nowhere to be found. We wait by the station for almost 10 minutes before he's back. And we're then not asked between 5 bowlers how we'd like the tab. It's all thrown on one. Gotta love that kind of service! I had so much fun at Pinz the other night. I was really shocked at how cheap it was on a Sunday night. I had three cocktails and it was only $3 per drink. Unlimited bowling was only $7.50 which included shoes. The arcade is awesome, and the laser tag was a blast. This place is worth checking out. read more

This review is only on Harvey's Pub- the bar inside Pinz. Some extended family came here to celebrate a Birthday on a Saturday evening. The wait was over 2 hours for bowling so we found a table in the bar to pass time before we got a lane. The bar is nice, good vibe and good beer selection. Our server was terrible- just not interested in doing her job. After one round she dropped of the bill, I jokingly said to her we had a long wait and we were not done so keep the beer coming. She didn't stop by to check on us so after 30 minutes I walked up and ordered another round from the bartender. Our server did come over a bit later to give the updated tab and walked away not to be seen again for a long time. If you have been here, it is not that big where a server may have too many tables to cover causing one to feel ignored. I had to walk up to the bar a second time and order more for the table of 7 as we continued to relax and share stories as we waited to be called for bowling. After about 2 hours it was time to bowl, we left a small tip but still more then she deserved. Next time I will skip the server and just deal with the bartenders, the one who was working this night was great!! Bowling as expected was a blast, overall a fun night with family!! From other reviews posted, it appears poor service and lack of staffing has been a problem here for some time. You can't get bored at PINZ....if you do there is something wrong with you! PINZ is known for their bowling alley, but they can also keep a group busy with arcade games, laser tag, and plenty of bar food and beverages. We went this passed weekend for an adult's birthday and the place was packed!! If you have a large group it's definitely worth checking if you can make a reservation. We only had ~10 people and we had to wait for about 2 hours! So if you don't have a reservation be prepared to wait awhile. Overall PINZ was a lot of fun and really not too expensive! Recently had our company holiday party here. The process of setting up everything for the party (reserving the lanes, choosing the food, etc.) was incredibly easy and April at Pinz was so nice to work with. She took care of everything and made sure that when the day came we had nothing to worry about. Day of the event they took such good care of our group and took care of all the details. We just had to sit back and have fun. We used the 10 Pin room which was amazing and really helped our group have a great time. We will definitely use this again for company events! This used to be a favorite date spot for my husband and me. But, it seems to be under new management, and it is not for the better. They have removed the dart boards from the bar-restaurant area. More video games have been added in their place. Both of my boys were sad and did not understand why. They pointed out there were already plenty of games in the arcade area. When we asked the general manager (for two weeks) he said they didn't make any money. He was rude and lacked management skills. My husband is in a management position and tried to help the guy out of the hole he dug himself, but the manager didn't seem to understand how rude he was being. Our waitress did an outstanding job trying to smooth things over. The food was tasty, but due to poor customer service we will go elsewhere. read more

If all you are doing is bowling Pinz is a pretty decent place to bowl. The lighting is nice, the lanes work, there are decent drinks. I had two big concerns here. One was security. We left at about 11pm on a Friday when a twelve person fight broke out. There was zero security at all. For a place that is serving drinks late into the night, they should consider this. Second concern was food service. The waitress could not help that she was the only staff for 100 people who were eating but we had to wait 20 mins for just the bill. If you are only going to bowl or play in the arcade I would say this place is worthwhile. Definitely not eating or playing pool. read more

The place was amazing, the staff sucked. I WILL NEVER GO BACK! I throw a gamer birthday party there, on a Saturday. I have 3 kids, so this isn't my first time doing a birthday party through a 3-party. Most the time these place set up your room for you and have it decorated for you. I was discussed with what I saw, when I walking in that room. No decorations, no plants out, no cup out. Room didn't look to clean. We had to set up all the are self. The hostess never indicated herself. She was so pushy. When we did our laser tag she made us play both games back to back. I don't know about you but I get winded after running around for 15 min. When we did our second round she put us with little kids, we are all 26 and up. After we are done playing laser tag she try to kick us out of our room. I paid for two hours. Why is she trying to kick us out an hour before. Like she wasn't even trying to let us do the cake. This was at night so nother party was after us. The gamer party comes with game cards to play the arcade games. We did get to play until an hour after the first time she tried to give us the cared. She passed out the cared to everyone. Side note she should of gave the cared to the person who paid. So I didn't have to make drunk people mad. But those cards didn't work. And she can't count because she kept giving us 9 cared instead of 10. I went to go find her. To tell her the cared are not working. At this point she got a little pissy. She gave us new cards with a big attitude. Guess what those cared didn't work. At this point I'm pissed. We have been waiting to play games for like 40 min. She already kicked us out of our room. So no more drink for free for us. And just have to stand there waiting on shitty staff. Had this party been for one of my kids. I would have have all 10 kids screaming and crying just to piss the staff off. I when and found the manager. He finally fixed the problem. But at this point I'm pissed off, and will never return. Not only was my hostesses a rude little girl. But all the arcade staff were a bunch of high school drop out. At least that night there were. When I first got there I asked where room 4 was (with isn't the room they told me I'd have) and he said he didn't know he only worked the arcade. I should of knew i was in trouble for that read more

I feel like there are two kinds of people that work here... there are people that work there that are engaged in what they do. They take the job seriously and are there to not only provide good customer experience, but understand that it's about making the customer feel like they belong there. The bartender(s) and wait staff did a fantastic job of making us feel like we chose to go bowling in the right place! The rental agent and the "shoe boy" apparently missed the attitude memo that day. When we first walked up and were waiting we did say that we would be standing there for a bit until the time went over and we could pay for unlimited bowling. After conversing we got into a great celebratory discussion about a new development with my brother when the "shoe boy" loudly interrupted asking us if we wanted to bowl or not. And not that nice genuine question kind of asking, the loud obnoxious, hinting at either paying or walking away tone. We paid (which BTW - they don't tell you this until you are paying. The all you can bowl deal price, does NOT include the cosmic room they have off to the right) and got our shoes, but not before the two guys behind the counter ranted about other people that had bowled earlier, and how gross peoples feet were. Thankfully our experience with them was short lived and we got to bowling. It was okay... The cosmic bowling is seizure inducing at best. I did not enjoy the lighting, nothing actually glowed in the dark, and the kids that were in there playing were completely unsupervised. There was also no wait staff in this room which meant walking out of the room and around to the bar each time you needed a refresher. In total I spent about $34 + a tip for the bartender, and I'm still not even sure what I got. In the off chance that I do end up going back here I am going to specify that I would NOT like to pay the additional 10 dollars to bowl in the "techno" room. read more

We decided on Pinz for our son's 7th birthday thinking it would be an "easy" one. Online, the laser party shows that it is &169.99. Awesome. Totally in the budget, right? Um, no. Our troubles began with booking the party. I called and had it arranged for the boys to play later first, then eat. The first schedule they sent me was in the correct order but they left out a laser game. So I called back to the manager that had booked me and she pushed me off to the planner's voicemail who was out TWO days in a row (we were only a week out from the party). When the planner finally returns, she sends me a different schedule, one with the boys playing before and after they eat. (Load 7 year-old boys up with pizza and cake then send them running in the dark to puke all over themselves? I think not.) The planner refused to change it since she had supposedly booked a second party in the meantime. (Never saw the "other" party the entire time we were there.) It finally took a voicemail to the manager and then a new itinerary "mysteriously" shows up from the party planner in my inbox with the originally agreed times. As for the pricing-We had one boy that was gluten free so we had to order an extra pizza for him since they didn't offer the kid just a slice -$12.99, then an extra pepperoni to feed the rest of the boys- $17.99. Total that up to taxes? Still not too bad. It wasn't until I discovered that they expected a 20 percent tip off the final bill that I was angry. The kid helped our party was mediocre (had no idea how to control a group of 8 boys at 16 or 17)- even with that, it wasn't his fault the planner and manager that I both spoke with failed to tell me tips are expected on the party. Why should I dock his pay for their lack of informing a customer of the expectations? Total bill for a 7 year old's bday? $249.00 My point? If you decide on a birthday party at Pinz, just plan to tack on an extra $80-$100 bucks on to any party package and mediocre experience for the price. Crossing that off the parent learning moment. This review is for Harvey's Pub in Pinz. We came in around 730 on a Monday. The parking lot looked busy, the restaurant-not so much! The restaurant and bar was just quite except for the tv's and the conversations. There were 2 people behind the bar, so I thought we'd get some service pretty quick. Nope. A total of 5 people at the bar and we waited for about 5 minutes before the chick we thought was the bartender took our drink order and gave us menus. Then she disappeared, would reappear, disappear ect. Never really knew if she was helping out for a minute or what. But then comes the angry server/bartender... Chris, the angry barkeep/ server, was hopefully having just an off night or maybe he's just in the wrong job. He seemed angry that we were at the bar ordering food and drinks. Our group ordered the cheese curds ( tasty as always!) , the cheese bread, quesadilla, chili dogs and a cheese burger. The cheese bread came out ahead of everything and we said " We'll take it now" after angry Chris nearly had a meltdown that it was supposed to go with more things. He then replied, "It'll stay hot under the heat lamp" Yeah, thanks, but I'll just eat it when it comes out, really not a huge crisis, I promise!So it seemed like he just grudgingly set it down in and dropped our plates and just kinda walked away for a minute. The rest of the food comes out and Chris seems to have mellowed out a bit- thanks!! The food tasted fine. The quesadillas weren't anything super special, but the boys seemed to like the chili dogs and burger a lot. When my pal's softball team arrived, again it took a bit of time to get drink orders- and I'm not really sure why to be honest. But I did notice that Barkeep Chris FINALLY didn't seem like he was going throw a glass or something like that at us if we ordered a drink or what have you! Overall, I'd have to come back again to see if the service is the same or beeter or worse. It was decent food. Like most people, I don't really enjoy feeling like I'm doing something wrong by showing up to an establishment and having the audacity to order a cocktail or food. I also don't really enjoy watching the waitstaff be super pissy and such. I get it if its a bad day, but maybe you have someone cover for you for a few minutes and you take a smoke break or something like that. Went last night with a group of 11 for their son's 5th bday. Service was horrible. Server was MIA for most of the evening and only came to the table when we asked someone else to get her. I went to Pinz the other night with a group of friends and two of their children. We played around in the arcade and played laser tag. Holy moses, laser tag is so much fun! I was really confused during the first game, but once I got the hang of it I swear I turned into Arnold S in the movie "Predator". Just so you know, there is no where to hang from the ceiling. Also, unlimited laser tag was only $9.99 for the entire night. We grabbed some cold beers and food in the bar and grill area of the establishment and I was very happy to see that they had Fat Tire on tap. Delicious. Unfortunately there were only a few people staffing the entire restaurant on this particular Monday night, so service was really quite slow. However, the food was great for a restaurant in an arcade and I would definitely go back. This is a great place to bring a family, a birthday party, or even just on a date. Take two parts bowling alley, one part arcade, one part laser tag. Add a dash of a sports bar, and a pinch of a burger and pizza friendly menu. Blend on high for hours on end, and you have a fun experience at Pinz. Pinz is great for kids and adults alike. As you enter the doors you are greeted by their arcade area. While they may not have as many games as places like Dave and Buster's, or Gameworks, it's a nice selection. Behind the arcade area is the laser tag area. There are two seperate bowling alleys here - one that reminds you of a traditional bowling alley, and a second with two 100+" TV's on the wall you bowl against. As for the bar itself, yes this is a place you can go and just have a beer and a burger. They have some beer on tap, as well as in bottle. It's your standard beer selection, Summit Oktoberfest was the seasonal on draft while we were there. The food is basic, but good. Both the pizza and burgers are good. If you can stay away from "pumping quarters" into the games, Pinz will cost you no more to eat at then a nice casual dining place. Speaking of pumping quarters, Pinz has gone 21st century with their game playing. Instead of the old school games of buying tokens and winning tickets, everything is done on a card. You charge the card up with money, you swipe it when you play a game, and your winning tickets are electronically placed on the card too. You carry one card around with your $$ and tickets on it. Oh and you can use the card for food and drinks too! Overall a really fun place. If I had to point out a negative, it would be their arcade area doesn't have quite as many games as some of their competitors. read more

Let me start out saying the food and lounge is one of favorite places to go. We decided to go bowling tonight and had to wait a hour no problem e went and ate. Got buzzed for a lane 45 minutes just as we finished eating. Got our lane #3 and of course lanes #1 and #2 had birthday party going on with at least 10 to 12 young kids probably ages 5 or 6. The parents were all standing around watching and drinking and the kids were all over the place even running into our lane numerous times. I almost got tripped by a kid sliding into my lane and then as I was going up to bowl a young one got so close that I actually bumped into him. I did complain two times and all that was said is sorry. No one came and said anything to the group or at least management could of said something to us. We paid for an hour and we didn't even finish because it was to frustrating. Those parents having the party should of taken them to a gym to run around not a bowling alley. I played laser tag for the very first time a few weeks ago with some coworkers at Grand Slam down in Burnsville...it was SO SO fun that I decided I wanted to play laser tag with my friends for my birthday. We went to Pinz in Oakdale because it's much closer to where I live and I figured, hey, how different could it be? You have to pay a stupidly over-priced fee PER GAME....there's no explanation/orientation to what's going on. My friends who had never played before didn't even know what was happening and that wasted precious time from the 10-minute game time. You have to "sign up" for a time to play and get a little flasher box like they give you at restaurants when your table's ready. Awful! Never...ever.....go to an arcade/restaurant to have good food. I didn't and so I was disappointed. My friends met us there for some food. He chose this place because of our 4 year old daughter. He thought she might enjoy the arcade. She might have enjoyed the arcade, but none of us enjoyed the food. Service was slow (on a Saturday evening). No refills. No follow ups. The food was bland. In our group, we ordered a burger (MEH), steak and cheese (hardly any steak), chili (that tasted like out of a can), salad (that neither could finish) and a chicken sandwich, which was OK according to my friend. Price was reasonable. So again, if you plan to just go for the food, pass it up. IT's not good. But if you plan to go to the arcade or bowl afterward, then eat and go do your fun. We went here on a Friday night and used a groupon for an hour of bowling and a game of laser tag. And we were served like we were full paying customers. Very friendly younger staff kept the drinks coming. The bowling was time based not per game which was kind of different but we had plenty if time to play 2 games in and hour.
