This is a great spot to eat at after hiking Potato Chip Rock! Their lunch special offers such a great deal and I also enjoyed their dessert selection. I love love love Thai food.. I even look for it when I'm traveling in other countries.. I have to say this place is a hidden gem in Ramona! Inside is cozy + cute. I can only review food because we had a pick up order and I did not go inside. We ordered a bit of everything and all was pretty good, the fresh shrimp spring rolls were the best. We went in early December of 2025. So I don't remember every dish we had, I do remember that we ordered a few dishes too spicy for us and we could not enjoy it as much as we would like to, but that is our fault as I love spicy food but new heart burn wouldn't let me eat like I used to. The food was yummy and the different drinks were tasty and so was their ice creams. I have been enjoying the food as well as the very friendly staff for many years. I highly recommend this place to everyone. I work in Poway, and when I'm feeling like some great Thai food, I call them on the way home and put my order in for take out. They have so many great dishes. I recommend their Pad Woonsen which are thin clear glass noodles, with some vegetables, and you can pick your protein. I also like all of the curries they have. Is a mom and pop restaurant. The food at Pinto is excellent, considering the restaurant is in the middle of Ramona, not too many Thai that live in the area. The food is authentic with a twist of American favorite. The price is reasonable & the service is excellent. If I was in the area, again. I would go back to this restaurant for a menu. read more

They are comparably priced to other Thai restaurants around the city but from my experience, Pinto Thai serves larger portion size than most Thai restaurants. Which I appreciate. So I went to Ramona for this fantastic Thai food experience. Seriously, said no one ever but true. Met up with one of my pilot friends who lives up yonder. We were there for lunch. Cool place with about ten tables and legit smell of curry when you pass through the door. I went for the garlic lunch special medium spicy with tofu. Perfect portion size and it was yummy, albeit a bit salty. My friend went for the curry with chicken. She's not a heat warrior but I don't make fun of her for that. Report was great flavor and yummy achieved. Loved this place! read more

They steal your money!! Extremely deceitful behavior by the restaurant and wait staff. Got up to pay the bill, she had already added a 15% tip to the receipt, without me seeing. Furthermore, she did not provide an itemized receipt, I had to ask for it. So when I paid, I paid a double tip because they had already added it to the receipt without me knowing. Seems like they like to steal from their customers, very disappointing. read more

Ramona is a town where you don't typically find a good Thai restaurant, but surprisingly I did find one here. The food was delicious, and it was surprisingly better than the Thai food you find in the city. The pork larb I got was at a level 5 spice, which happens to be the spiciest level offered, and it ain't good if it ain't spicy either! It was the perfect spice for me, and the larb was dressed with a flavorful tang and toasted rice powder. If you like satay, it's bomb here. Thai tea was super freshhhh! There were some remnants of the tea leaves in the drink and I could tell they brewed it fresh. If I'm ever in town, I'd probably stroll by again. The food here tastes like home to me and the staff were super sweet and accommodating when I brought my dogs to dine in at their patio. read more

Stopped by for lunch at Pinto Thai while spending the day in Ramona and enjoyed Thai ice teas, spring rolls and a shared entrée. This cute restaurant is located in a corner strip mall on the main drag in Ramona. It's on the small side, but also offers outdoor dining. The decor is what I'd call 'Eclectic Thai'. The service was friendly and quick. The food was fresh, colorful, amply portioned and delicious. If I was to knock off a star, it would be because I thought it was a tad expensive. There's free parking and a 'one-person' restroom. I would visit again. read more

My mom came into town and tried this place and ate there. She is very picky with asian foods but she really liked it. She had gotten pad thai lunch special. She said prices are very good and portions are huge. She got my husband and I pad thai and drunken noodles. They were so good. In town for a retreat at The Oaks just up the way. Was hungry for dinner and was craving Asian food. Restaurant was busy with a lot of people ordering takeout so a great local business. For takeout I ordered the pad kee mao and Tom yum with shrimp. Pad kee mao level 4 spicy Tom yum level 3. To be honest the pad kee mao tasted really plain and under seasoned. Kind of felt like I was eating just plain noodle. Even with the spice. The Tom yum was SPICIER than the pad kee mao for whatever reason almost to where I couldn't eat it. The flavor was there but just way too spicy. I had a painful stomach ache shortly afterwards. 30 bucks and I can probably make 2 meals out of it but since my stomach hurts so bad I may have to trash it .. bummer. Seems to be family run and the workers were super nice and helpful. However not sure if I'd be back. read more

This was a lazy Monday night with less than 25% of the tables occupied, yet we sat for 15-20 minutes without anyone coming to take our order. No acknowledgment. Nothing. Eventually, the receptionist felt bad and took our order, which should have been our first red flag. No one even bothered to refill our water, even though servers were refilling glasses at the table right next to us and deliberately skipping ours. My young child was waiting for fried rice (his favorite). When I finally asked a waiter about it, his response was: "I don't know who your waiter is -- they forgot to place the order. Do you want the fried rice or are you done?" No apology. No ownership. No attempt to fix the situation. Just attitude. No one even came to give us the check. I had to walk to the front desk and deal with the same rude waiter just to pay and leave. Management should take this seriously: arrogant and discriminatory service kills businesses faster than bad food ever will. Loyal customers don't disappear quietly -- they stop coming and they warn others. Food is one thing, but no one goes out with their family to be ignored, talked down to, and treated as an inconvenience. Why would anyone pay to be insulted like this?

Other than that - easy and open parking. There was only one other table there when we arrived, so got seated immediately. We got Thai tea, dumplings, Thai fried chicken, and drunken noodles. All were okay with the exception of drunken noodles that were unbearable for me to eat.

Pailin Thai is in a shopping center that absolutely gets bonkers during busy hours, mostly because of the obnoxiously skinny parking spaces and the incredibly large cars trying to cram their way into them. We ordered our lunchtime meal online, taking advantage of their lunch combo specials. I got the See-Eyew Noodles with chicken ($13.95) and my husband got the Spicy Noodles with pork ($13.95). Because these were the lunch combos, each meal also came with a small serving of the soup of the day, a small salad, an egg roll and a fried wonton. The menu said you're also supposed to get steamed rice, but we did not. I'd rank the items in my lunch combo this way: the soup (not sure what kind it was, but it was coconutty and citrusy and there wasn't enough of it, in my opinion); the fried wonton; the salad; the noodles; the egg roll. Not that I didn't enjoy the noodles, they were just not the best I've had (and those who know me know that Pad See Ew noodles are my go-to Thai entree.) These noodles were lighter - in color and flavor - than I prefer, and too sticky to easily shove in my face with a plastic fork. The flavor was okay, if a little lacking. My husband's meal was supposed to be spicy noodles, but the container was labeled "Drunken Noodles", which I'm pretty sure is a different dish. But, he ate it all up and said he enjoyed everything about it. Though he did say the serving size was smaller than expected (I reminded him it was a lunch combo, not a full entree, and for what we paid, it was a good deal. I think he agreed haha.) I'd be willing to give them another try, because I love Thai meals and we seem to be lacking in good Thai restaurants anymore.
