We went here after our first ever casino experience. The best waiter was fast and attentive to our orders. The menu is extremely difficult to make any vegetarian or vegan options. I brought my own salad dressing. The only thing I could eat was a side of Fries and the garden salad without dressing and cheese. The salad was average. The fries were also average. Good food & friendly service! Came here for lunch with a group of 9 on a Saturday and were immediately seated and served. Our waitress was friendly and fast, although there was a forgotten beer and appetizer. However, that was mostly made up for by the food, which everyone in the group enjoyed. Excellent food and service here at Pint and Platter. We were greeted right away by the friendly staff and seated right away for lunch. I ordered the NY Strip steak and my Sister ordered the Bison Burger. I noticed a lot of other customers were ordering french dip type sandwiches, those dished looked really good. My NY Steak was ordered medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly. Very tender juicy good flavor. Potatoe tasted good too. My Sister loved her Bison burger. We went on a busy Saturday night and the wait was an hour and twenty minutes. It was nice that you could sit in any of the 3 casinos and they will call your name 3X for your table. It's a very small restaurant so the wait made sense since the Ice Festival was in town and the regular casino traffic. Adequate Irish pub in the historic center of Cripple Creek. The photo over our booth featured the Cliffs of Moher; reminded us of our recent stay in Ireland, and our walk along those cliffs! The food didn't remind us of Irish pub fare, but it was OK for a casino restaurant. Service was great, and Caitlin answered our Q's and helped us with our selections. She gets a gold star! The Mahi tacos were cold and unseasoned. The burger patty was also unseasoned. For the first time in my life, I added salt to a burger. Only left one star because there is no option for negative stars. We walked in and were ignored. They only had 2 other tables and 3 servers so there was no excuse. When finally seated, I asked what the soup of the day was. Our waiter told me split pea and then tried to pressure me into ordering it. When I said no, he threw the menus on the table and stomped away. 30 minutes later he came back with my husband's Guinness and once again tried to force the soup on me. At this point we just paid for the beer and left. It was one of the worst experiences we've had. We used to eat here regularly but the food quality has been in decline and this experience solidified never returning. The only thing Irish about the place was the decor and Guinness. Nasty! Didn't have high expectations for casino restaurant food, but I'll usually eat anything, even a stale pop-tart on occasion. But this was just gross. I mean, you have to try pretty hard to fail at just soup and salad, but the french onion soup tasted like dishwater. Dumped a bunch of pepper in trying to make it edible, but nope. Just pepper flavored dish water. So on to the salad, which is that spring mix thats usually packed into those plastic tubs at the grocery store. No problem. Little wilted. I've had worse.. But one bite of a tomato.. Was it rotten?? Tried another couple bites.. I mean, it's just freaking spring mix salad..get over it. The pretzel bites were tasty, but entirely coated in butter, which made for a soggy dipping experience. The St. Patty melt was just okay. It needed something. Sadly, the accompanying pickle spear was not very good. My husband's ribeye was huge, covered in a dark brown gravy, and it came with some steamed veggies that looked overdone. There's really not a lot to choose from up here in Cripplecreek that it is not casino owned. Well this place is part of McGill's. I thought it was pretty decent. I was a little surprised they did not have any specials. I had the pastrami hamburger which Ito say I did enjoyable. My wife had the Fajita French Dip that was decent as well. I still will give four stars, but The first beer I ordered was very flat and I alerted the server to that but was not replaced or taken off my bill. Just slightly disappointed. read more

Ive been here once before maybe 2-3 years ago? Unfortunately, they've gone downhill from then. They used to have this prime rib special with mashers and steamed veggies for $15, slammin' deal especially for the quality. My husband and I decided to skip the crowds this Independence Day. Instead we went four wheeling and gambling haha. I suggested this place based on past experience. I wish we would've just tried something new. It was way busier than last time which was expected. Our server was very nice but it did take her awhile to make her rounds. No more prime rib special :-( so I ended up settling for fish'n'chips and my man, "prime rib sandwich". The beer battered cod loins were good, I'll give them that. The curly fries were overcooked and for sure from frozen. The cole slaw was not the kind with a cream base, not too much to it. Hubby only ate half his sandwich for the "prime rib" was not at all prime rib. It was dry and tasteless cheap cut of super thin steak. There's not many options in cripple creek so we were really hoping this would be our go to. I think we'll just eat in woodland park on our way up from now on. read more

The toppings and tortillas were brought to table first. Pretty much set the mood. Guacamole was brown. (Another 'scoop' was brought out. Same thing, but with apologies!)Lettuce was wilted. Shredded cheese was dry. Beans had a crust on top. Rice was sticky. Salsa had something that appeared to look like salt and pepper mold sprinkled on it. Tortillas were dry. When the server brought the steak and peppers and onions, it all looked old. Beef looked like a chuck roast. I took one bite. It was sour. I spit it out. My husband had fish and chips. Chips were gross, coleslaw bitter and he ate one fish stick. I told him to stop, I didn't trust the food. He had the worst stomach ache, later at night. All of the food appeared to be DAYS OLD food. This is a great bar to watch football, especially if you sit at the bar. The bar itself is clean and very nicely decorated. It is definitely one of the nicer places to grab a drink and informal meal in Cripple Creek. I've been here 3 times now and the service has always been excellent. I had lamb sliders recently that were tasty and I've had burgers on past visits that were very good. Unfortunately, the bar is located in a casino and the ceaseless background noise of the slot-machines reverberates like tinnitus in your ears. Delighted to find this little palate pleasing surprise! I have a very strict diet with many food restrictions, so it's a challenge eating out. This place had a few menu choices I could have with minor changes. I ordered steak and lobster tail with a side salad. My steak was big, seasoned to level delicious, and cooked to perfection as ordered. My lobster tail was also large and had amazing Cajun seasonings. It did not even need butter. Salad was exactly as ordered. My iced tea was fresh brewed. My husband had a bacon burger with pepper jack cheese and home made thin sliced chips. Burger was also cooked perfectly, and he loved the chips! Our waitress, Monise, was very friendly and attentive. She did a great job. My mom enjoyed her meal and said the steak tips were good, although she was disappointed that the salad portion was made up of mostly iceberg lettuce. The fish was good, although the curly fries didn't appeal to me. The dessert was definitely the best part of the whole meal. Our server offered us hot coffee with the dumplings and it was great! As we were standing waiting to be seated one of the female bartenders slapped down a "No To Go Orders" sign right in front of us ...no "Hi, we'll be with you in just a moment", no "Hello, welcome to McGill's" no smile (although they are free). Also not a good sign when you are less than two feet away from a waitress and she doesn't want to make eye contact. Stay away from this place unless you like your food with a side of nasty attitude. There are better options all around and after the restaurant experience, who would want to spend their GAMBLING money in such a place? We stopped here while in Cripple Creek seeing the museums and other sites - we are not gamblers and had our two teenagers with us. This place was recommended as the best burgers in town. My son and husband had angus burgers ordered medium and medium rare - both came medium, no difference whatsoever, but they were pretty good. The curly fries were very good, tater tots exactly like you get at Sonic. We also had the pastrami sandwich and beef wrap - both were pretty good, but nothing to write home about.
