My friend and I came here on a weekday night to do a paint and sip night starring Van Gogh's flowers in a vase! Our instructor was Mar and she was a nice teacher. I did find that the class felt a bit fast paced but I understand the time limit. The speed of the class did feel like it made us rush so I feel if you do try out their classes to try to keep up with the instructor or at least 1-2 steps behind (as some of the painters in the class weren't able to complete their paintings because of the lack of time). I liked how Mar would show us steps and leave us to do it on our own. I appreciated the creativity and personalization she welcomed as well. I also liked how the paints were self serve. An improvement would be more diversity of cocktails (the one I had was vodka and orange juice and it was A-OK!) and better brushes. I felt that my brushes were frayed and so painting crisp lines were difficult because the bristles would be pointing in different directions. For $45/class I think better brushes would be a good idea. The vibes of Pinot's Palette was also great. I loved the music played, the ambience, the cleanliness, and how fun it was. I would definitely consider returning.

This was such a fun experience!! It was so cool to follow every step and create such a fun painting by the end! The coolest part was the glow in the dark painting experience!

My partner and I had a real good time here. We booked extremely last minute and were elated to know that the class only had 2 other couples. It was quite warm, intimate, and pleasant. Our teacher was quite lovely as well. Definitely recommend

Not a festive atmosphere. Boring. Quiet. Might as well just paint in your own home. Won't be back

I arrived a bit early but I was able to pick my seat and speak with the instructor. Groupon doesn't cover the GST/HST so you have to pay $4.90 (cash or debit). Our instructor Paul was wonderful, helpful and funny. He took the time to help all of us. Even though it was my first time I feel like I did a good job *pats on the back* ... We all did a good job. I will definitely go back when time permits.

Terrible experience. My friend warned me ahead of time that this guy can be a jerk over email and…read morefrom previous reviews I can also see he has been quite consistent with others. I can attest to the fact that he is terrible in dealing with customers. I bought a Groupon that detailed that classes run Mon to Fri from 10am-3pm. I emailed him months ahead of time to ensure my spot and informed him of a specific date, and he said it was impossible to book me so early. He advised me to email him a few weeks before the date I requested. As he suggested, I emailed him a few more weeks before the date that I wanted and and he said he still couldn't book it yet because the schedule was not out. He told me he would email me in a week when the schedule is out. I waited and he never did. I didn't understand why I needed to keep waiting on the schedule when it says they have a classes every day on the Groupon. After I had already told him the date multiple times, after I emailed him AGAIN, he finally then told me merely a week or two before he didn't have a class on that date. I've been telling him the date all along and he is only telling me now last minute. HE SAID THE SCHEDULE WAS ALREADY OUT OVER A MONTH AGO AND TRIED TO BLAME ME FOR EMAILING HIM TOO LATE. Further he said there are only a couple classes until the end of the month. I bought this Groupon for an amazing mothers day gift but this guy completely ruined it. When he realized his errors after I sent him a strongly worded email, he apologized and asked me to still come in. I'm sorry. I don't give my money to businesses who can't seem to get themselves organized and then go ahead and blame the customer. I'm going to Glaze Craze.

I am writing my review on Yelp as Diane chose to delete my review from her webpage. After numerous…read moreemails back and forth to Diane as to what I wanted to accomplish, I registered for Diane's beginner classes online. Firstly, to my surprise, the cost was charged to my credit card in US$ even though her office is up the street from mine in Toronto! This was also not noted on her website. Secondly, this beginner's course, which online is quoted at $370, comprised of seven 3-4 minute lesson videos showing you how to draw a straight line within a total of 6 letters. This provided absolutely no value. I found this complete process a sham and a waste of my time and money. I was very disappointed.

I wanted to have my wedding invitation envelopes done by a professional calligrapher, but I had a…read morereally hard time finding one that seemed reputable in my area. As my search went on, Calligraphy by Diane kept popping up in my searches and upon looking at her website, I could tell that she was a professional. I emailed Diane and received a response immediately and set up an appointment to meet her at her home/studio. Since I work downtown, it was only about a 20 minute subway ride to get out to her area, which ended up being pretty convenient throughout the process. When I arrived, she welcomed me into her front studio area and we discussed what I was looking for. My fiancee had indicated he didn't want anything super flourishy (we had looked at the website before the appointment as he wasn't able to join me) and after looking at a few styles, Diane and I settled on one that I really loved. She also made suggestions about the color of ink and style of nib she would use based on the type of envelope I was going to have. In this first meeting, I was immediately put at ease; this is a woman who knows what she's doing and wants what's best for the customer. None of her recommendations were pushed on me, she simply made me aware of all of my options before I signed off on a contract and put a deposit down. Diane was very flexible - I had already decided how I wanted the invitations worded and although it deviated from the norm, she was willing to do them as I wished. There was a bit of a delay in getting them completed, but in the end we had enough time to get them mailed out in time for the RSVP deadline. I would recommend that you start this process as early as possible so that you have extra time to work with! The cost was very reasonable as well and fit within my fairly tight wedding budget. The envelopes looked absolutely beautiful when they were finished and I'm keeping ours as a token from our wedding. The style also helped to get across the formality of the occasion! I'd definitely recommend Diane for calligraphy for any reason; I look forward to having our wedding vows done in calligraphy to hang in our home and some other special projects as well!
