Ordered Fettucini Alfredo with chicken Parmigiana. The sauce was congealed on the noodles. The chicken parm was generic frozen chicken . No traditional Italian breadcrumbs or seasoning. This place is a hidden gem! Clean, and the food was fresh. We stopped in on the way to visit friends. Our waitress was super friendly and accommodating (we have young kids) despite his busy they were. The house salad was so good. Normally you get huge chunks of tomato and cucumber, but they were quartered to make eating easier. We got the Stromboli, and it wasn't greasy at all! The crust on the kids' pizza was what I would imagine the "one bite" guy would rate a 9. Wish this place was closer to home. read more

Third time eating here and experience is poor as well as food quality. 1st experience our Wait time before getting our food was over an hour and most of the food was cold. Second time we waited well over an hour , our waitress was very apologetic and our food then came out one person at a time with one plate of food cold and had to be sent back. My husband received his food first and he was finished by the time mine came out. We were a party of 5. 3rd order was for pick up this evening, wait time 45 minutes , 15 minutes over what was told to us - not to mention the plate below lots of noodles with barely any meat sauce or cheese . 3 poor experiences = we won't back. I want to add one more thing , other than our waitress the second time who was an older lady and she tried very hard to be kind - we have not encountered kind people. The side salad might be the most revolting thing I've eaten at an Italian place. The pasta was warm, but the vodka sauce was void of any real flavor. It's currently 9:38pm on a Saturday night. I walked in about 12 minutes ago, went to use the bathroom and was about to sit down to order. I was told to leave because you all are closed. On the website and your hours read that on Saturday nights you close at 10pm. It's a warm June evening. I was here yesterday and ordered food and wine and took food home and left the waitress a tip of over 30%, tonight Im being treated like this. Perhaps I'm the wrong skin color. It's a shame because I actually grew up in farmville and went to school with Steve Bacillion, one of the sons of the owner of the Pino's in Farmville. Also, in Farmville or anywhere I've ever been I've NEVER been treated me like this! I've worked as a server before in Washington DC and we would NEVER turn a customer away because we're "not busy". That makes absolutely no sense at all. These girls were sitting down to do side work. Aside from me being non-white, they also are trying to get out of here before 10pm and it shows! They didn't even offer me to order to go, which would have been in poor taste, but better than just out right refusing service. Especially in Buckingham where there's nothing to really eat. A true diamond in the rough! Pino's is in a small town but it has BIG flavor. Customer Service was impeccable and the pizza was sooo yummy..savory sauce, thin crust just how I love it, the perfect amount of toppings oh and the fries..mannnnnn the fries were everything!! Crispy and not overcooked. What I loved the most is they give the option of a mini pizza.. Four substantial slices of gooey goodness..just right for a small appetite for two. Even though we punished that pie and wished we had went with the small lol, it was our greed begging for more. Truly one of the best slices of pizza I had in a while. While waiting we noticed they have a variety of menu items from sandwiches to salads and when we are passing back through "the country" Pino's will definitely be one of our stops. Ps. We live about 45 minutes from here but this place is worth the drive. We were on our way to visit family and stopped here for lunch. I got the Philly cheesesteak my husband got the chicken cheesesteak and onion rings .. everything was awesome!!! I haven't had a Philly cheesesteak that good in years! Due to that fact I never order a Philly cheesesteak when I eat out. Now I know where to go when I want a good Philly. The next day on our way home we stopped to get dinner and another awesome meal. Called to place an order and instead of just saying the menus shown online are not always the same as what's here in the restaurant the staff acts like I'm a complete idiot and can't understand at all what I'm asking for. I explain the buffalo panini that's on the online menu from many sites . They pass the phone each time for me to just say I'd like to place an order for carry out , I'd like the buffalo panini that I seen on the online menu. They start guessing completely different items and making the stupidest "ughh...ughh..then another dumb guess" really liked this place , but when you can't have basic knowledge of what you have or be able to say you don't have it without it being a phone call for several minutes and several people I'd rather not do business at all and today I ended the call and will just be making dinner at home like planned. Calamari and shrimp app is great, as well as the Marinara !! But don't recommend the seafood fra Diablo...the scallops are hard and have a strange texture...the mussels almost made me wonder if they were too old and I'd be sick if I kept on eating. The salmon and pasta....salmon was good but all angel hair pasta ordered between the salmon dish and the 3 fra diablo dishes had pasta that was mushy "over cooked"...For an Italian restaurant that is the least they could've gotten right! Not to mention the waitress mixed up the orders so 2 had the incorrect type of pasta ...bread isn't memorable. Won't ever be coming back. read more

This place was fantastic! We were driving back from Appomattox, Va and we spotted it right off the main road. There's plenty of parking. We sat down and the server was very friendly. The food took a little time coming out but it was worth the wait. I would recommend the calzones and the pizza. It's very charming inside and there's plenty of seating. The pizza is okay... it's not fantastic or even worth the price they make you pay. It's just meh. I ordered the spicy Sicilian and the vegetable spinach white pizza. Completely underwhelmed. $32 for a large pizza is way too expensive for mediocre pizza. There's not much in Dillwyn so it's the only pizza place in town. I've been here before for a fundraiser event. They knew 50+ people would be coming but we're short staffed, never got a refill on my drinks, just bad service and bad quality of food. Will not be coming back. read more

Decided to try pino's pizza tonight and I got a large pepperoni and I have no clue what kind of cheese they use but I doubt it is mozzarella as it didn't have the delicious pull of a mozzarella. It broke apart easily and just didn't taste good. I asked for well done and of course it was no were near that. Will definely recommend going elsewhere for Italian. read more

Being a Philly guy I got the cheesesteak and fries and it was perfect, just like back in Philadelphia. Just called in an order to Pino's. I eat here every time I come to town,but I'm sad to say that this time I'm very disappointed. The service was not as friendly as I'm use to and the quality and flavor was lacking. I ordered the meat lasagna and a salad, the lasagna noodles were over cooked and almost mushy. We were driving home to Maryland and decided to pull in to Pino's based on the Yelp reviews and the crowded parking lot. It didn't disappoint! The size of portions was very generous i.e. the mini pizza and the small Cancun salad was more than enough. Our waitress was lovely and attentive and the ambience was very pleasant. I don't understand the positive reviews for this place. I've tried to eat there once, and failed. The same marinara is put on everything "Italian," the "dinner rolls" are made of pizza dough, and the place doesn't even smell like an Italian restaurant. The service was fine, but my plain old spaghetti was inedible. The marinara was way too acidic and poorly seasoned and there were these tiny, unchewable bits of something scattered in it. The menu is soooo extensive I don't know how they can possibly cook all of it on site, especially since I didn't hear or smell any cooking going on anywhere. If you like Kraft spaghetti mix, this place will probably be fine. Otherwise, stay away. read more

We stumbled upon it in the summer of 2010, and the waitress said "you have to order in the next couple of minutes because Italy's playing in the world cup, and nobody's going to be working in the kitchen during the game." They kinda had me at hello with that one. The marinara sauce is so good that everything that uses it is spectacular. The prices are good, the service is good, the atmosphere is pretty authentic, and the food's great. What's not to love? read more
