Omg this place is SOO GOOOD!!!…read more I like the queso! It's thin but good. The guacamole is very fresh! The elote is also pretty good! The churros are so good!! I'm very happy with them. They taste like my favorite churros that I've been looking to replace (I moved). It's really hard to find a churro I actually like and this is one of them. The burrito was delicious! The birria and carne asada tacos were good! Very juicy and filling! The tortillas are also really good! Everything is extremely fresh and filling. They give you a lot of chips. I'd def come here again!!!

While normally opting for tender Beef Tongue (Lengua) I can get it, this was the first time I saw lamb, specifically Lamb Barbeque (Barbacoa de Borrego) on any Mexican menu, so decided to try it out in a corn tortilla Quesadilla. It arrived freshly prepared not as a flat quesadilla I'm accustomed to, but more like two giant tacos. (See pic.) This sizable portion came with a red and green salsas, so I tried one on each. Both were good additions, but the red one cleared my sinuses! Definitely recommend El Jalapeño! Look forward to a future visit to Bethesda to trying something with their tongue the next

Took my brutha here to celebrate his birthday and it's basically an upscale carryout. A couple sets of (8) chairs outside and a few benches inside - all occupied. Plus, it's too chilly to be eating outside...so we took the food to his place up the street. No worries - food will be good, right?? First the good: That hearty smokiness of summertime barbecue wafted from the front door as I walked up, had me totally turned on. Service was excellent from the guy waiting on us. Now, the rest.... + The (full slab) beef ribs were dry, oversalted and tough. + The pound of lamb shank I ordered didn't taste like lamb. I actually thought they had forgotten to give me my order. Their smoking process shouldn't overwhelm the natural earthiness I was expecting - from lamb. + The fried chicken was moist and juicy with a nice crunch. Decently seasoned too. + The garlic potatoes tasted old. + Assorted sauces we good...enough. + Rolls are tasteless. I could've taken my brother to a thousand other places and spent far less than $89, and we were both disappointed with this one. The bag was heavy too so we were falsely encouraged initially. There's parking right next door but we parked in the gas station across the street and walked over. I won't be returning.

I love the chicken kebab platter that comes with Greek salad and rice, it's very tasty. Every Thursday they have salmon specials which is delicious also. I had their Falafel Bowl, considered a vegetarian option, which came with basmati rice topped with a Mediterranean salad, 5 pieces of falafel, and seasoned onions, with a cup of tzatziki sauce. The Mediterranean salad consisted of diced tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, and mint leaves tossed in a lemon juice and oil oil dressing; this was fresh. The rice was cooked well, but it was just way too much of it in the bowl. The falafel were crispy and not dried out, which I appreciated. The onions were okay, and not necessarily needed in the dish. I wasn't a fan of the tzatziki sauce, as it was a little thin and watered down, and a bit too herb-forward in taste. My counterparts wasn't a fan of their chicken wrap, as it didn't contain much chicken, and they weren't fans of the sauce, either. They ended up taking out the chicken and making their own sandwich out of it and tossing the rest. I'm glad I was able to give this place a try, but not sure if I'd go out of my way to return. +look for the food truck on the PL level at BMP +avoid the tzatziki sauce

This time, (Apr 2026), the "big" one of their two food trucks was among the dozen vendors invited to Food Truck Friday at the Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department. This larger Catalyst truck serves their full menu: dogs, smash burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, soft drinks, and more snacks, sides, and sweets. Their menu has ten dressed dogs, vegan dogs, and fourteen toppings for build-it-yourself requests. There are combos that save you a few dollars. Ok, usually, they have those soft beverages, but for this event, the VFD is the sole beverage-seller, at good prices, as a bit of a fundraiser. Of course, we get Catalyst's Chicago dog! Tyler always has poppyseed buns he makes from fresh-baked rolls! They make a perfect mix of toppings with genuine short bitey sport peppers, bright tangy relish and a pickle wedge, fresh dense juicy tomato chunks, bright chopped white onions, good old yellow mustard. Every bite is a delight. Find a Catalyst Hot Dog truck. Get one of the best dogs in the area! For those who wont get to Chi-town any time soon, dive into this Chicago dog. It's authentic! And while that's our go-to, we admit we're coming back to try other vendors at Food Truck Fridays at the Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department! But most of all, we're looking forward to Catalyst Hot Dog's brick-and-mortar opening in Burtonsville in the fall of 2026! Oh, and a pro tip: If the listed hot-dog event is at a smaller venue, call that venue ahead of time. Sometimes the events cancel or change dates without enough notice for Catalyst to post about it.
