The old lady who works the counter doesn't wear her mask properly, leaves her nose exposed, in my opinion that's reason enough to avoid the place, especially for smokers and elderly who are higher risk for covid. Though the reason I'm actually annoyed enough to write a review is her crappy condescending attitude. When I had the audacity to tell her she was wearing her mask wrong, in a friendly tone I might add, she decided to hold me up the next time I entered the store. She took off her mask completely, not even covering her mouth, and ranted for what felt like an eternity, saying absolutely nothing beyond- -masks aren't mandatory -I'm not 'mask patrol -she's asthmatic and wearing a mask is unpleasant. She repeated these talking points until I cut her off telling her 'just give me my change', which she was holding in her hand throughout this, having started the tirade while processing my purchase. She then put it on the counter and told me not to come back, which rest assured I won't. If you care about the well being of people you come in contact with, I suggest you do the same.

All of my questions were answered: Can we get financed (yes - 12 months no interest)? Do you have a long turn around time (no there is plenty of on-site merchandise)? Do you deliver (yes $15 in town)? Phil made our transaction go smoothly and we even had same-say delivery! Everyone was professional and friendly. Queen size bed, chest of drawers, tv stand/storage unit, sofa and coffee table were purchased today. It was delivered and set up quickly! I'd recommend Messenger's for an all-around great experience!

The running average for used merchandise that was labeled was around 60% of list price of current versions of the same thing. Many of the items were not priced and I found an older gentleman who seemed to be in charge who priced a few things in which I was interested. I found a used pair of hand drums that were missing some parts and had a broken head. He offered the pair for $150 and said that that would include tax since I was paying with cash. When we got to the counter, he changed the price to $200 plus tax. Hear me clearly folks--Full disclosure here: I own a music store in a different county. I was interested in the hand drums for me personally just as a normal guy off of the street. I am in no way bashing this place nor this guy, as maybe he was just having a bad day or some troubles with the memory banks. I am just simply offering this advice: please be careful that when you shop here a) you know the value of what you are buying and b) the management honors his word and sticks to his commitments.

He wants to send you a statement of just the things that he sold and then it makes it difficult for you to keep track of everything that left your house so I didn't get compensated for half the things that he took so to me I wouldn't recommend Strickland cause I think he's a crook

It is a clean, well-organized store for the amount of stock/ variety, although it is 33 yrs. old and was told it will be remodeled soon. We were greeted on arrival and were helped by friendly and energetic staff. I understand sometimes in retail you have busy periods and could use more than 1-2 checkers. Reality is, if someone can't come in and replacement not found, a manager helps or customers may have to wait a bit. The majority of customers at these stores are patient and gracious. I get the feeling it might be rural upbringing. Nice change from what I experienced when working retail in the city in my teens!
