I have had multiple services from both locations but Danforth has a new Laser machine with an excellent promotion going on currently. I have had about 8 laser hair removal sessions elsewhere for my dark thick chin hairs and saw no improvement other than lightening of the colour. When I came to Shen at Jade and their different style of machine I feel like the hair is making more progress and becoming thinner, which is amazing for someone with PCOS. And it's faster as it's not the same style of machine that repeatedly zaps you, it sort of goes over the area by sliding. I have also gotten my brows done, eye treatments, waxing [all different areas], eyebrow and eyelash tinting, manicures, and have never been disappointed. Today I nearly fell asleep in the comfy chair. I will review the Bayview location a separately. All the staff is great. I don't trust anyone except Shen or Jyoti with my eyebrows anymore!

After two months, at the end of my last treatment, they said they forgot to charge HST (over $200) which I would have to pay immediately. I ended up paying, and it left a very bitter taste. If you do buy packages from this business, double-check to make sure the price includes HST. --Update-- The response from the business doesn't make sense and isn't true: "you purchased our Black Friday special from outside Canada" I live in Toronto, and purchased this package while in Canada. The receptionist who dealt with this issue also told me that multiple people paid a promotional price that didn't include HST. I'm disappointed that the business didn't try to make things right, instead shifting the blame when it clearly wasn't my fault, and other customers were also affected.

I've been hearing some amazing results from a friend who tried cool sculpting and she could get a flat stomach just in time for her vacation. She used the same well-known clinic (not this clinic) that I get laser hair removal from. So vanity got the best of me so while I was in, I was curious and got a quote... they quoted me $3000~ for fat freezing my belly pouch (2 placements on either side - one session) and here I see this amazing Groupon deal for Toronto Beauty Centre for $160 for 2 sessions - one placement in the middle each time, what a deal. And I was like it's so cheap in comparison, worth a try? For reference, I'll say I'm perhaps skinny fat, according to a smart scale (not super accurate) 27%~ body fat. I didn't notice any results from the first time nor the second time (they actually measured me and there was no change in a about a months time). I've heard you need to wait a least a month to flush out the fat - it's been over half a year since the treatments and I don't see any significant difference that can be attributed to this. And the esthetician or is it the owner on the second time trying to tell me to come in for other fat treatments when there are not even incremental results... uh no thank you, nice try I see you! 2 stars instead of 1 because they weren't unpleasant to deal with but it just didn't work for me. Working out and eating healthy probably would be a faster approach than these sessions... as you need to wait in between sessions to book. By the way, this machine doesn't have the 'cool sculpting' branding but some alternative that isn't as effective compared to my friend's results. What to expect, it was slightly uncomfortable - vacuum-like suction on my fat for freezing and held for a while but it wasn't at all too bad. Anyways the first time I was there, the receptionist ran the machine on me, who didn't look like she was an esthetician or had training since she was dressed more casual instead of clinic wear that I'm used to. While I was waiting I chatted with a woman who was there for her second time and she didn't see any noticeable difference. Well, I guess you get what you paid for. But you know it sounds too good to be true: to pay so little and be able to target the area for fat loss instead of letting Mother Nature choose the worse areas to get rid of when you shed weight. I say save your money and get your butt in the gym or if you're on a time crunch and must need it for a special occasion and got the dough, treat yourself and splurge somewhere else that's more credible and would give you more reassurance. With these things it's all about lifestyle - If you don't maintain healthy eating habits/exercise, you'll end up going back to the original fat level, like my friend after indulging in her trip.

Session 1 The woman at the front and who conducted the treatment was a few minutes late but she was very pleasant. I provided all my medical info and she explained what the best plan for me would be and then took down my measurements. The plan will be: 1) abdominal 2) abdominal + love handles 3) abdominal 4) love handles. The first procedure didn't really hurt but it was a little uncomfortable, overall it was a good experience. Photos will be updated per session. What I did enjoy was the there was a $50 promotion right now so I was able to purchase the package for $418 (taxes in) in-store rather than with groupon. I was also able to schedule all my sessions in advance!
