This is an update from my last posted review. I was offered a free entree via the owner on my yelp review, but I decided to pay & give them a second try. Today I ordered my food around 2:05pm & it was promptly delivered around 2:27pm (pretty good timing this time around). We ordered their hibachi chicken & steak with crab Rangoon & Rice. I also ordered their California sushi roll minus the cucumber. Both entrees arrived fresh, hot & ready to eat! We really enjoy it! Their ping sauce (a spin on shrimp sauce) is tasty as well! It was really good with the sushi dipped in it. Overall I'm satisfied, I hope this level of service remains consistent. If so we will be frequent clients. Thanks !

Pings roll, spicy tuna roll, and spicy salmon roll

Been here numerous times but always forget to take a photo of the food! The service is amazing. The owner always remembers my orders and is very friendly. The food here is outstanding. Whether you're getting hibachi or sushi you will not be disappointed. The pings roll is my personal favorite. Normally when I go to other restaurants and order sushi, I am given way more rice than fish. Not here. Here the rice to fish ratio is perfect and the rolls aren't so tiny you have to order 3 to be full. I highly recommend pings.

Dynamite Roll

First and foremost, the food here was great. I ordered the shrimp and broccoli along with a dynamite roll. Both were excellent and tasted fresh. So, Pings gets massive points for the most important item, food! Here's my issues: I feel I was a little misled my the "hibachi" part of Pings Hibachi. There is no hibachi in site, it must be in the back where we can't see it. Side note - the menu does have hibachi items to order. I was a little unsure of whether I was supposed to order at the front, wait for a server or just sit down hoping to be seen. I ended up ordering at the counter then sat at a booth to wait for my food. While waiting I saw several more confused customers. Lastly, the food is served in disposable containers whether you are dining in or not. Seems wasteful, but, to each their own! Hope this helps! Happy Yelping all!

Very good General Tso plate (best around) and I love the shrimp and steak! Glad we have a hibachi spot like this in town now.

Do they cook on the table?

No they don't. It's more of a take out with a small seating area.

Walking in, although this is a casual dining area, they have silverware, dish ware, and linen…read morenapkins. The ambiance gives off an upscale feel. The lacquered soup bowl and spoon are par for the course but the cast iron teapot and teacup give that authentic quality. So the miso soup is not as salty as I am accustomed to, but I believe that is a me thing, not a quality issue. The composition of seaweed and tofu is good. The salad has a ginger dressing which I appreciate, but my daughter didn't. Again, it's a her issue. The salad components were fresh. The sushi flavors were pretty good. So the fish is not as fresh as it would be in a coastal state or on an island. Hey man, this is the midwest! That being said, this is NOT grocery store sushi though, it is much better and much tastier than that. The flavors of the sauces are mild to allow the natural flavors of the ingredients to shine through, something that many places err in. Typical rolls have such overpowering sauces that the actual ingredients are unidentifiable. This place does not make that mistake. The spicy tuna roll is probably the best tasting spicy tuna roll that I have had in a very long time. Most places use sriracha as the main pepper ingredient, despite it not being of Japan origins. This spicy tuna roll has more of a togarashii based pepper base. As a result it has more of an authentic Japanese flavor. Yum! The staff are very nice, greeting you with a smile. They even ask if you would like a plate cleared away before taking the dish away...my husband has had instances where he wasn't quite done and the servers whisked the dish away neglecting to ask. They checked on us frequently as well. I also am pleasantly surprised that their last call for dine in is 15 minutes before they close. My daughter wasn't available to go out for dinner until 8:45 pm. This is 20 minutes away, so it was still open when we arrived and we didn't feel rushed to place our order.

Be cautious about "cooked". These folks are pretty…read moretraditional and even cooked seafood may be squishy uncooked and slimy. Almost threw up baby octopus salad. Couldn't wait to order espresso but all coffee service was "broken" Music is ridiculously loud and repetitive. Not a great place based on my first experience
