Ping's is the best hair salon in Cherokee County by far! I've been to all of them and used to drive to Marietta and Atlanta, inside the perimeter, for good hair styles and color. They're conveniently located near the Harmony on the Lakes light in Hickory Flat part of Canton, which is about 5 minutes away from the downtown area at Exit 16. Why is black hair so difficult to color? I don't know. Everywhere else, my hair would eventually turn brassy orange. Ping's staff are professionals in what they specialize in; be it hair cuts or color. The owner Ping, is always gracious and keeps up with all the new trends. They play great music, all get along well, are licensed and have years of experience which almost guarantees your hair will not turn purple/green or burn & fall off by all the damage. They also do great cuts for men and kids. Complimentary beverages for those who smile and they also have this great appointment confirmation system that texts you reminders. Their prices are slightly more than the big chains, but overall they are very fairly priced for the high quality of services they offer. I almost hate to tell people about this gem because I know it will now become difficult to get in myself. I guess I will just have to book up. I recommend you book up at least a month in advance. We're so lucky to have places like this in Canton. If they can make a nerd like me look and feel beautiful, then it's worth trying right. Im not the person to come on social media and bash a business but yesterday I was not pleased. I went to Ping Segars salon and met with a stylist I have never been to before. My appointment was at 5:00pm and they close at 6:00pm. I booked this appointment a month and a half ago and have been so excited. I wanted to go back to my natural color (maybe been alittle darker). I had reference photos (the ones I posted above) and she said she knew exactly what I wanted. She did my hair and then got another girl to wash it. After I got it washed and sat in a chair with wet hair for 15 minutes. She said "You didn't book a hair dry and we are closing. I can do it but we did close and stuff so". Basically saying she wasn't going to do it and was doing everything to make me say no. I felt bad and I left. Since I left with wet hair I didn't know what color I had gotten till I went home and blow dried it. I cried for an hour. They also left dye on my head. It's the next day and it's still on my face after taking wet rags and scraping it off. My mom called for me this morning because she knew the owner and was going to figure out why I was treated poorly and manipulated. They acted like I didn't have the money for the service and she could get away with not blow drying it (just to see the color of my hair). The manager sounded my age and basically said it was my fault and i'd have to pay again for a color correction. She also said "This time do you want to add a blow dry?". She was super petty and rude to my mom and we won't be going back. Hopefully I can get it fixed before graduation! Thank you Ping for absolutely nothing. My stylist was Rebecca Winters. read more

I got my hair done earlier today at Ping's salon. and overall I adored the experience there. I personally don't have much background going to actual salons out side of great clips, which are quick rushed $20 hair cuts that I got as a kid so I decided to research near by salons and found it here on yelp. I called same day and made an appointment for 3 hours later which I LOVED! I showed up about 5 minutes early to my appointment and was greeted by a very lovely front desk clerk named Zach. He was just so friendly and a joy to talk too. The decor is so my style and taste. I loved the art and photos on the walls, the mirrors in front of the chairs down to there storage setup and color on the walls. I was pleasantly surprised to be offered a complimentary drink, with teas, coffees, sodas and waters available while waiting. Maddie came up too me and was again very friendly and ringed up her client to got me in for my shampoo which Zach did for her. Zach and I had a fun conversation about Harry potter and different tv shows, and I even got a referral to his friend, who is a tattoo artist! After a very relaxing shampoo and light head rub I was the directed over to maddie's chair. She talked with me about what I wanted, showed her pictures and talked with me about my 100 different questions. She asked my input literally every step along the way and was so incredibly patient. She was a joy to talk and work with and a complete sweetheart. I got myself same side bangs and a trim, I really want to keep my hair long but healthy, and she did just that. It's mostly the same natural long hair I had, but more defined and I learned a lot from the experience as well. If you are looking for a cheap haircut, go to great clips. If you are looking for quality, go to ping's salon. The location is placed nicely between hickory flat and downtown canton, and I would drive from Woodstock just to go to this place. The cost for the shampoo, cut & blow dry, and style was $52 before tip. If I'm tight on money in the future I'll just get a wet cut and I didn't ask how much that was. Everyone I talked to from on the phone to in person were just so kind and had amazing customer service skills. I love my hair and I have never felt more listened to by a hair stylist in my life. She can look at any photo and get it dead on---and I bring in some weird photos! Great salon and great service! If you're anywhere within a 15-20 mile radius of the salon, definitely stop in. Maria is an awesome stylist and is a gem! I've followed her from various salons in the Atlanta area just to make sure I have her styling my hair because she's that good! Maria has worked in some of the top salons ITP, so she definitely knows what she's doing and has worked with the big dogs. The salon is a little different because I live in the Buckhead area and drove up to Canton and was surrounded by farm land and horse farms, so it's a little strange if you're driving there from ITP, but it's so worth the drive just to be able to have Maria style my hair. read more

I wanted to purchase a gift certificate for a friend, however not being from Canton, I was unsure where to start. I went to YELP and found two highly rated salons. I called the first salon, and the receptionist was very unprofessional, stating they were "soooooooooooo busy". I asked her to take me off the speaker, as the background noise was quite noisy. Again, she told me how very busy they were. I finally terminated the call. My next call was to Ping's Salon, where Julie answered the phone. She could definitely teach a class in customer service! Her calm demeanor and willingness to accommodate my needs were exemplary. My friend will have an appointment with Ping, and I have no doubt she will be more than pleased! Had a 10:00am appointment but it was moved to 10:30 due to the stylist being sick. That was not a problem until I arrived on time and still had to wait another 20 minutes. During that time, I received a text notification that my appointment was now moved to 11:45am even though I had already checked in. I asked the receptionist about the change in my appointment and told that is when the stylist would be able to cut my hair. My appointment was delayed yet again. During this time, not once did anyone tell me that the stylist was running late. After the receptionist and a couple of other people gathered at the front desk having a good old time, I felt my business was not needed. By the time I received a concerned call back from the office manager, I was able to book another appointment at a facility that did appreciate my business. They now have a new customer. read more

I was very nervous going to a new salon having just moved to the area and not knowing anybody. I felt very comfortable from the moment I sat down, the receptionist made friendly conversation with me and made sure I felt good about my decision. She even checked on me several times throughout my stay, she genuinely cares about your experience. My color expert, Jennifer, did an excellent job and although it's not exactly what I'm used to, I love the color and the dimension. Maria, who cut and styled my hair did an excellent job as well. Hi FUTURE BRIDES AND ANYONE LOOKING FOR A HAIR SALON!!! Do NOT USE (MARIA) @ Ping segars salon in canton! As a bride to be myself the events that occurred today to one of my best friend @miranda made me absolutely sick to my stomach. The amount of childish drama and unprofessionalism displayed by this business and its employee was not only shocking but incredibly infuriating. Miranda and I grew up together and when I say this girl has been planning her wedding since she was old enough to slip on her mamas heals is an understatement. When the man of her dreams asked her to be his wife she wasted no time in planning the perfect wedding. Obviously balancing a fairytale and a budget can be hard but she did it-- with skilled grace-- and has made it to the final stretch....30 DAYS away. This past Wednesday Miranda went in for her trail run of her bridal hair at ------- with stylist Maria. Miranda use to work at the salon and knew all the stylist well and had specifically chosen this stylist for her well know beautiful Updos. At her SUPPOSED TO BE ONE HOUR TRIAL Maria proceeded to do her hair in 30 mins (no problem right). Well when she was finished Miranda expresses that she wasn't completely happy with the style and Maria expressed that she would make note of that and attempt to fix it a different way on the day of the wedding and after Miranda expressed multiple times she wasn't happy without fixing it to put her mind at ease Maria charged her 45$ and sent her on her way with time to spare on her appointment... I can tell you right now NO BRIDE is ok with FIGURING IT OUT the day of her wedding. Upset Miranda confided in her mom who later called the salon and expressed her concerns the manager. The salon then told Miranda, after questioning her about her appointment, she could come back in for another trial free of change. FIXED!! Or so she though This morning Miranda gets a TEXT from Maria implying that she no longer wants to be involved in Miranda's wedding......30 days before her wedding. Clearly butt hurt about the call and complaint about the first trial and style said that her and her and her mom were irrational and would have made wedding day unbearable and she wanted no part of it. After Miranda tried to clear the air and smooth things over Maria refused to do her wedding hair and even had the audacity to say that Miranda didn't handle this like an adult! WHAT COMPANY let's there employee back out of a wedding the month before and WHAT "professional hair dresser" leaves a bride high and dry because she didn't like her trial run and called the salon back unhappy and wanting to reschedule another trial. The salon then offered to get another stylist to work with her....for a MUCH higher price.... now my best friend, is scrambling to find a way to do her bridesmaids hair HERSELF and have one of us do hers on her wedding day because she can't afford to find someone for that same price this close to her wedding...ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Highly UNPROFESSIONAL. CHILDISH AND OVERLY UNNECESSARILY DRAMATIC. Soooo mad for her. read more

The VIBE was fabulous and Ali did my color and cut and style and I felt like a model when I left she took wonderful care of me and she didn't rush and she was ready to give me her latest wavy beach look and I appreciated it so so much . Everyone who reviewed this salon positively must be insane! I would have been better off letting my 7 year old cut my hair with a lawn mower! This was by far my worst hair experience! Not only was the salon dirty and the owner and staff gossiping about everyone and everything, but the customer service is unbelievable! It took almost 4 hours for highlights and a trim. My hair looks exactly the same as when I went in color wise and is hacked to no end! I have long hair and wanted a 2 inch trim- I had 2 people cut it and it is so uneven and choppy. Literally, my son said when I walked it- what happened to your hair mom, it's all messed up and crazy looking! The owner could clearly see that myself and another client ( who sat in a chair for over and hour with her hair half colored) were upset and did nothing at all! Unfortunately for them I work for a local magazine and have already takes to the editor about doing an article! I urge everyone, even my worst enemy, to never go here! I can not even begin to describe how upset I am and will now have to cut my hair shirt to correct this! read more
